1 out of 5 eggsWas working well

Pros: Worked just fine for a little over a month, WAS a good deal

Cons: After vigorous troubleshooting, i found out that the supply was intermittently flaking out, causing hard restarts

Other Thoughts: Built a cheap fast PC for the grandparents, all was well for a month, then it started to randomly restart without warning. After troubleshooting everything else, i pulled a good supply from the computer I'm typing this review on ( it uses a high end seasonic supply at that) and the other computer no longer randomly has hard restarts. I put this suspect supply in my PC, and presto! hard restarts after a few minutes. I'll report back after the RMA process is resolved with Seasonic.

Manufacturer Response:

Hi Kristopher,
Sorry for your experience with our product. Was your system a Haswell system? It is possible the issue is the result of compatibility issue. The 400ET is normally used by system integrators who builds configurations according to their exact needs and for consumers we recommed the Seasonic Retail units such as the G, P, X & FL series. If you have any issues, please contact us via this e-mail address: newegg@seasonicus.com Thank You.

5 out of 5 eggsA basic, high quality psu

Pros: Very heavy and is built sturdy. Fan is virtually silent and the PSU has plenty of connectors. Powers the machine it is in really well! BRONZE certified

Cons: Doesn't come with a box, it arrives surrounded by bubble wrap. More of an FYI then a con

4 out of 5 eggsPlenty of connectors

Pros: Runs nice and quiet, wires are nice and long, and has plenty of connectors.

Cons: For me having not come with a power cord is a bit odd, but it is advertised as OEM,

Other Thoughts: chances are there will be plenty of wires that you won't use. Make sure to coil them up, rubber band them, and tuck them into that spare bay to keep them from causing other problems (like shorts, air flow issues, etc). Just saying.

1 out of 5 eggsLasted 5 months

Pros: When it worked it was quiet and efficient.

Cons: I had always heard that Seasonic made the best power supplies, so when I wanted to replace a generic media center power supply that came with the HTPC case, I figured it was the perfect time to try a lower-end, inexpensive Seasonic power supply. Unfortunately, this Seasonic power supply only lasted from the delivery/installation date of 03MAR2014 until today, 08JUL2014, when I noticed the living room media center was not powered on. Hooked up a power supply tester to it and no beeps or anything, that's how dead it was. So, I had to put in the generic old Apevia Turbolink power supply that came with the media center case. Oddly enough, that super generic power supply still works fine after 3 years.

Manufacturer Response:

Hi Dave, I apologies for the inconvenience. Please visit www.seasonicusa.com and we will try to resolve your issue as soon as possible. Thank you.

5 out of 5 eggsQuality Mid-Priced Selection

Pros: After a power surge smoked my low-priced power supply of another brand, I decided I needed to spend a little more money to get a brand I have almost standardized on because of high quality - Seasonic. I was pleased to see a variety of power output models available - all rated highly. I was shooting for 400W, so this filled the bill. I was repairing an old computer, so the mix of Molex and SATA cables came in handy (I had carefully looked at the product picture to assure this availability). Installation was a snap (being OEM, you get a lower price in return for using your old power cord and screws), and the old unit fired right up, stable as a rock (the aging power supply this replaced was causing random reboots and USB port problems).

Cons: None. This unit came up on line routinely, just what you want. Just plenty of stable power.

Other Thoughts: If you are getting mysterious reboots from "random" causes, be sure to think about checking out the power supply. A new one is well worth the investment!

5 out of 5 eggsGreat power supply, no frills

Pros: - High efficiency
- Plenty of adapters
- Silent fan

Cons: - I didn't use any of the molex adapters, so that was a bit of a waste. Molex seems to be becoming more legacy, as SATA power and the 8-pin and 6-pin ports are powering most peripherals/add-ons.

5 out of 5 eggsfantastic

Pros: great inexpensive power supply, in my honest opinion unless you need a modular power supply this is the best psu for the money in this price range. I have a dozen of these in service right now.

Cons: none, just be aware that this does not include mounting screws or a power cord.

5 out of 5 eggsA really good power supply

Pros: Installs easily, works like a charm. Good old-fashioned design and wiring appeals greatly to me - I'm tired of all these tightly sleeved and dark-colored PS units (it's nice to see something designed for us old-fashioned computer fans).

Cons: OEM unit, so no box, power cable, or screws; that's fine though, I have plenty of those around.

Other Thoughts: A great replacement for my old Pentium 4 Northwood build, now configured as a Win9x retro-gaming computer. All hail Seasonic!

5 out of 5 eggsReally Good PS

Pros: Very good well built and heavy power supply for not a lot of cash.

Cons: no sheath on wiring - could use one where it exits the case

Other Thoughts: definitely like Seasonic power supplies
