5 out of 5 eggsNo frills, it delivers!

This review is from: SeaSonic SS-300ET Bronze 300W ATX12V V2.3 80 PLUS BRONZE Certified Active PFC Power Supply

Pros: PSU. Very quiet as long as you keep the power draw under 150w at the plug. As cheap as you can get for a bronze plus.

Cons: Cables are on the short side; but I was warned when I read the other reviews, so no surprise here.

Other Thoughts: Fits the needs for probably 85% of the worlds computers!!!

5 out of 5 eggsA class act

This review is from: SeaSonic SS-300ET Bronze 300W ATX12V V2.3 80 PLUS BRONZE Certified Active PFC Power Supply

Pros: quiet, cool, high quality materials and components plus very generous wire lengths.

Cons: absolutely none

Other Thoughts: Many owners have complained about the shortness of the CPU connecting wires. The four SS-300ET units that I received have the LONGEST wires of that sort I've ever seen: 14 inches!!!

The SATA connecting wires were also the longest I've ever seen: 21 inches!!!

This is my first experience with a SeaSonic product. I will purchase only SeaSonic PSU's in the future.

5 out of 5 eggsGreat value, minor compromise!

This review is from: SeaSonic SS-300ET Bronze 300W ATX12V V2.3 80 PLUS BRONZE Certified Active PFC Power Supply

Pros: - Great value for the money
- Almost silent in operation
- Choice of cables is in line with the competition

Cons: - CPU power connector not long enough for even a small case
- Not painted black

Other Thoughts: This is a great budget orientated PSU, with only one real complaint. I had to cut the built in zip ties and stretch the CPU 4-pin power connector to reach on my motherboard. If it was just a few inches longer this product would be pretty much perfect. I wish it was painted black but hey, budget doesn't always look good!

5 out of 5 eggsQuiet

This review is from: SeaSonic SS-300ET Bronze 300W ATX12V V2.3 80 PLUS BRONZE Certified Active PFC Power Supply

Pros: This replaced a cheaper but louder psu. This seasonic is VERY quiet. The mechanical hard drives are way louder than the fan in this psu.

Cons: Arrived with no box, wrapped in bubble wrap. No power chord included.

Other Thoughts: Used in an always-on HTPC build where quiet and low power were big factors.

For the price and quality, I'm ok with bubble wrap and no power chord.

Will order again for next low power build.

5 out of 5 eggsPSU for HTPC build

This review is from: SeaSonic SS-300ET Bronze 300W ATX12V V2.3 80 PLUS BRONZE Certified Active PFC Power Supply

Pros: Put this into a HTPC build. Runs silent, runs efficient. Yes, short cables, but if you are putting this into a smaller than typical ATX enclosure, you won't have any problems (check other models as feedback for other reviews state). I put this into a Fractal Design Mini and had no problems.

Cons: OEM so no power cable, no plug for graphics card or 8 pin CPU. CPU & power cable was an issue for me, but not worth taking an egg off.

Other Thoughts: Would buy a SeaSonic again!

4 out of 5 eggsgood, with limitations

This review is from: SeaSonic SS-300ET Bronze 300W ATX12V V2.3 80 PLUS BRONZE Certified Active PFC Power Supply

Pros: Good PSU for an office computer. Reliable, 80plus is nice especially at this price. Sufficient connectors for most builds, no PCIE but you're not going to be gaming with this PSU anyway.

Cons: Cables are short. Really, really short. If you have a bigger case with a bottom-mount PSU, you will need an extension for the 4-pin CPU power cable, and possible the main 24-pin as well. Cable management will be difficult if not impossible. I know it's an inexpensive OEM part and therefore wouldn't expect much of a "bundle," but mounting screws or at least a power cable would have been nice.

Other Thoughts: This is my second of these, using it in a build for a friend's home office (the first went in our media server). Great PSU for the money as long as you know its limitations and can work around them (this time around I made sure I was getting a case with a top-mounted PSU).

5 out of 5 eggsQuiet

This review is from: SeaSonic SS-300ET Bronze 300W ATX12V V2.3 80 PLUS BRONZE Certified Active PFC Power Supply

Pros: - Very quiet
- Seems well made (no obvious defects)
- Worked as expected

I wanted quiet & reliable rather than cheap. Haven't had it long enough to rate reliability. It's Dell predecessor lasted 9 years so I'll have to get back to you on that.

Cons: None so far. It's just a power supply.

Other Thoughts: - The SATA power connectors are 'straight in' when I needed 'right angle' to get the case back on. So I had to modify the cables and use the connectors from the old supply.

This was my fault - I should have been more careful. If you are replacing a supply, watch out for this.

4 out of 5 eggs

This review is from: SeaSonic SS-300ET Bronze 300W ATX12V V2.3 80 PLUS BRONZE Certified Active PFC Power Supply

Pros: Solid psu. No outages or problems other than what I've mentioned below.

Cons: Fan has a sort of whine to it. It's not very loud but it is unique enough to stand out in an office that has a white noise generator. I will be replacing it with something quieter.

5 out of 5 eggsLow Price, High Quality PSU with Good Cable Length

This review is from: SeaSonic SS-300ET Bronze 300W ATX12V V2.3 80 PLUS BRONZE Certified Active PFC Power Supply

Pros: Bronze 80+% Efficiency
Good Cable Length
Low Temperature
Low Output Voltage Deviation
Large Input Voltage Tolerance
Quiet Operation
Reliable

Cons: No Manual
No Mounting Screws
No Power Cord
Not for Gaming or High End Computers

Other Thoughts: This is a really good power supply that gives solid operation for an adequately recognized computer, i.e. a lower wattage motherboard/processor/PCI cards computer.
