5 out of 5 eggsSince 2012

Pros: Quite
SSF Case
Rock Solid

Cons: None

Other Thoughts: I've had this little power house since 2012 and it has been running with my APU setup for a HTPC. My HTPC is also my media server (Plex). And for the most part has been running 24/7 since it was build in mid 2012. Best little PSU hands down for what I needed it to do.

1 out of 5 eggsDOA

Pros: It fits in a Dell Vostro 200s case

Cons: It was DOA. Only the +5VSB rail was working. Everything else dead. This supply was in worse shape than the dead one that I pulled.

I realize that this is a low end supply, but seriously!! Doesnt anyone at Seasonic test these?

Other Thoughts: I've had good luck with NewEgg in the past and it looks like Seasonic is the only major PS brand out there that is still building these TFX supplies, so hopefully the replacement unit works - but this has set me back a week and half an hour of labor getting this machine working

Manufacturer Response:

Hi Kevin, are you using this unit with a Dell MB? This may be the issue due to compatiblity. Can you please write to us at newegg@seasonicus.com and let us know what has happened? Also please visit www.seasonicusa.com to start the RMA.
Thank you.

5 out of 5 eggsGood Mini-ATX PSU

Pros: Fan is noiseless - as with OEM PSU.

Cons: None.

Other Thoughts: I had replaced the PSU previously with a unit from another vendor. Noisy fan out of the box. Lasted about 3 months. This unit is as quiet as the original OEM unit and is working fine. Good choice if you need a PSU for an HP mini ATX.

3 out of 5 eggsNot that quiet otherwise good PSU after a year

Pros: Fit as a replacement when IN WIN BK644.BN300TBL PSU failed.

Cons: Wasn't really "super quiet" as advertised. The IN WIN PSU, when working, I could barely hear. This PSU has a typical normal PSU hum that fills my family room when my HTPC is not playing (e.g. Windows Media Center playing a movie or TV). Very annoying for an HTPC. When the HTPC is playing, the hum is not noticeable.

Other Thoughts: Submitted this review because I was, again, searching for a truly quiet PSU. This PSU's hum grates on me whenever I'm in our family room. My original HTPC was a Dell XPS 420 and it was silent. The original IN WIN case PSU was also just about silent. I bought this because the reviews were great and the evidence was that it was a very quiet PSU. Nope. Has a pretty good hum.

Manufacturer Response:

Hi Bruce, in regard to your review, can you please let us know exactly what you mean by the humm of the PSU? Is it the fan or electrical? This unit is mainly for industrial applications and possibly the fan curve is not suitable for your needs. But if the noise is electrical, please make sure you have enabled all energy saving modes in your BIOS as this should resolve your issues. If you have any questions or concerns, please write to us at: newegg@seasonicus.com Thank You.

5 out of 5 eggsSeems solid

Pros: It is really working for me. I made a costume itx computer case from sheet metal from old scrap and this power supply works great. It is small and cheap, lets hope it keeps working for the years to come.

Cons: Does not take me on an epic quest full of adventure and pie?

4 out of 5 eggsWorks

Pros: Quiet, runs fine. 300w can handle more peripherals than 200w.

Cons: This is not a complaint about the SeaSonic, but be aware that unlike ATX, TFX is more of a "guideline". ALWAYS MEASURE YOUR CASE OR EXISTING POWER SUPPLY before ordering ANY power supply.

5 out of 5 eggsNice replacement for HP Pavillion

Pros: Installed in slimline HP Pavillion being used to send slideshow presentations to an overhead media projector. The PC would randomly restart while unattended; the message was "Windows has restarted after an unexpected shutdown". The SeaSonic PSU fits well, the cables are more than long enough (had to zip tie the excess) and have all the proper terminals.

Cons: Silver case color shows though black housing vents. A little paint or even black tape would fix this, if I cared enough to do it.

Other Thoughts: 300W is overkill for a PC that sends PPT to a projector, but the extra capacity brings peace of mind.

5 out of 5 eggsSeaSonic Quality

Pros: Quiet, Quality, 80 Plus Bronze Certified, Active PFC

Cons: tight fit, had to remove fan to get into case

Other Thoughts: Works as it should, too early to tell if it will last, but SeaSonic generally make good power supplies.

5 out of 5 eggsInstalled on Inspiron 545s

Pros: Very quiet. With the stock PSU, my computer was loud. Now, it's so quiet, that it seems like its not even on. So I opened it and saw the fan was actually working.

Cons: None.
