3 out of 5 eggsGood and silent PSU, but if you use DVD player you could be in trouble (need 1 more power sata cable )

This review is from: SeaSonic M12II 520 Bronze EVO Edition 520W ATX12V v2.3 / EPS 12V v2.91 SLI 80 PLUS BRONZE Certified Full Modular Active PFC Power Supply

Pros: -To date work perfectly
-Very silent
-Modular type are the best for cable management
-Price is correct

Cons: -Only two cables sata
-SATA connectors are too close between them. 4 connectors in the cable but I was able to use only 1

Other Thoughts: I have a dvd player in the top and a HDD in the bottom-back (case PhanteK Enthoo Pro M), can't connect
my HDD because sata connector is 1" short. Need to buy molex-sata to resolve my problem.

5 out of 5 eggsSeaSonic Quality.

This review is from: SeaSonic M12II 520 Bronze EVO Edition 520W ATX12V v2.3 / EPS 12V v2.91 SLI 80 PLUS BRONZE Certified Full Modular Active PFC Power Supply

Pros: Supplies clean power, works right out of the box. High quality engineering and components. Cabling is solid. Quiet. Minimalist appearance.

Typical SeaSonic PSU. It will outlive the PC so long as you don't overload it beyond its rating.

Cons: Only 2 SATA cables (1 long 3x string, 1 short 2x string) included with the PSU. You could buy more.
Price, you pay for quality. Others undercut SeaSonic but SeaSonic stands behind their PSU's with a 5yr warranty.

Other Thoughts: Great packaging for a power supply. Heavy unit. As usual SeaSonic delivers on their reputation.

5 out of 5 eggsFantastic, quiet PSU

This review is from: SeaSonic M12II 520 Bronze EVO Edition 520W ATX12V v2.3 / EPS 12V v2.91 SLI 80 PLUS BRONZE Certified Full Modular Active PFC Power Supply

Pros: - Modular is a dream to build with
- Works without any issues
- Looks pretty nice
- Great PSU!

Cons: - Some of the cables were a little short. My case (Define R5) has the PSU mounted on the bottom and uses grommets for routing behind the mobo tray. In particular the CPU and Motherboard power cables were just barely long enough. I managed to pull it off so I won't deduct an egg, but it was a little bit of a struggle. Especially when just an extra inch or two would eliminate this issue altogether.
- Wish there were more SATA cables included! I have more devices than average, so maybe this won't affect many people :P

Other Thoughts: I've used SeaSonic PSUs in a few builds in the past and they've never let me down. A pleasure to build with!

3 out of 5 eggsIt works; at a risk.

This review is from: SeaSonic M12II 520 Bronze EVO Edition 520W ATX12V v2.3 / EPS 12V v2.91 SLI 80 PLUS BRONZE Certified Full Modular Active PFC Power Supply

Pros: It has powered my overclocked system rather well; I can't complain that my PC turns on and says on. & an amazing value for the specifications.

Cons: Sadly as nice as this PSU is; the one I got has been giving me unsafe voltage levels. Instead of a 12v range; I am getting 13v and above, almost 14volts!

Other Thoughts: Sometimes life throws you a curve ball. Just be sure that you check the voltage levels of your PSU to ensure safe operation for your computer components.

Manufacturer Response:

Hi Joseph,

Thanks for your feedback. Happy to see that your power supply did great with your overclocked system. Did any crash happen with such high 12V rail? Normally speaking, with this tension, your power supply should have shut down automatically (ATX standard). If you have any problem in the future, kindly check www.seasonicusa.com or kindly send an email to newegg@seasonicus.com
Thanks a lot.

1 out of 5 eggsIncredibly Unreliable

This review is from: SeaSonic M12II 520 Bronze EVO Edition 520W ATX12V v2.3 / EPS 12V v2.91 SLI 80 PLUS BRONZE Certified Full Modular Active PFC Power Supply

Pros: None.

Cons: Ever since I bought this PSU in the middle of the summer (about 5 months ago) I have had constant problems with it.

I have done pretty extensive troubleshooting of my whole system to try to figure out the main problem and I keep coming back to a faulty PSU.

Main problems I get:
- Randomly while gaming (when I'm using the most power) my computer will completely shut off and then start back up.

- Something about the PSU is that it is incredibly unstable. If I move or knock my desk with a decent amount of strength, half of the time my computer will completely shut down.

- And of late even if I'm barely using my computer, just on the internet doing homework or watching a tv show, it will just shut down randomly.

With all these problems and more my guess is that the PSU is faulty or it just is weaker than 520W, either could be causing the problems.

Other Thoughts: I have given up because I cant even play any new games now because it doesn't even let me play for an Hr or so before failing. Probably going to look into getting a stronger or different brand of PSU now.

Manufacturer Response:

Hi Mark, After reading your review, please note this sounds like you might have a short circuit somewhere in your computer which may mean a lose wire somewhere or something to cause the shut down or the instability running. It is also possible that if this issue occurs during heavy GPU usage, then you may need to use a higher wattage power supply. Please note, on the MB there is also a power supply called the VRM and if this is faulty, then you can experience the same symptoms as you have described. The best is to please visit www.seasonicusa.com and start a RMA and have your PSU tested. If you have any questions or concerns, please contact us at: newegg@seasonicus.com Thank you.

5 out of 5 eggsReliable quality as always

This review is from: SeaSonic M12II 520 Bronze EVO Edition 520W ATX12V v2.3 / EPS 12V v2.91 SLI 80 PLUS BRONZE Certified Full Modular Active PFC Power Supply

Pros: Reliable, quiet, fully modular.

Cons: Non yet.

Other Thoughts: This is my second Seasonic psu and I am again impressed with the quality. It may be a little early with this one given I've only had it going a couple weeks, but I don't anticipate any issues given my past experience with Seasonic. I will continue to use this brand exclusively for my power needs unless something goes wrong. I will update my review should that happen. But in the mean time, Seasonic is the way to go.

1 out of 5 eggs

This review is from: SeaSonic M12II 520 Bronze EVO Edition 520W ATX12V v2.3 / EPS 12V v2.91 SLI 80 PLUS BRONZE Certified Full Modular Active PFC Power Supply

Pros: looks well made

Cons: DOA

Manufacturer Response:

Hi Jimmie, Sorry for the inconvenience. All our PSUs are thourghly tested before they leave the factory and sorry this one got through. But as well, can you please make sure you have connected all the necessary cabes to both the PSU side and the MainBoard. Especially the 2 connectors to the PSU for the MB connector and the 12V CPU. As well, please check for any short circuit in the system which will cause start up issues. If you have any questions, please contact newegg@seasonicus.com Thank you.

5 out of 5 eggsLove it

This review is from: SeaSonic M12II 520 Bronze EVO Edition 520W ATX12V v2.3 / EPS 12V v2.91 SLI 80 PLUS BRONZE Certified Full Modular Active PFC Power Supply

Pros: It works, it's modular, the 24pin cable is a little stiff but I've come to expect that from most units. Overclocking my CPU isn't an issue to the slightest.

Cons: None that I can think of

5 out of 5 eggsAnother Excellent SeaSonic PSU

This review is from: SeaSonic M12II 520 Bronze EVO Edition 520W ATX12V v2.3 / EPS 12V v2.91 SLI 80 PLUS BRONZE Certified Full Modular Active PFC Power Supply

Pros: Has been operating at more than rated output for years.

Cons: None.

Other Thoughts: Okay, I messed up... I installed an "old" GTX 670 in my HTPC after upgrading another computer. I forgot that the HTPC had this PSU in it, along with an old AMD X4 965 CPU. Amazingly, it ran fine for months before I started to get screen artifacts. Did some troubleshooting, and thought that the PSU was bad, so I pulled it out to RMA it to SeaSonic. Guess what? This is thing is only rated for 520 watts. I thought it had a 750 watt unit in it. The PSU is fine, and it's amazing that it even booted up, much less ran nonstop for months!
