4 out of 5 eggsgood psu

This review is from: SeaSonic M12II 620 Bronze 620W ATX12V V2.3 / EPS 12V V2.91 SLI Ready 80 PLUS BRONZE Certified Full Modular Active PFC Power Supply

Pros: these are the best psu's you can get

Cons: the only reason I purchased this unit was because at the time it had a good rebate and was on sale, so I thought I'll just get it as a back up.
That was Oct. 14 now late may 15 and no rebate! I guess I really did not need the back up deal after all!

1 out of 5 eggsDo not buy from Seasonic

This review is from: SeaSonic M12II 620 Bronze 620W ATX12V V2.3 / EPS 12V V2.91 SLI Ready 80 PLUS BRONZE Certified Full Modular Active PFC Power Supply

Pros: None.

Cons: I have been through three of these things since I bought my first one about a year ago. I contacted Newegg after the second one and they told me that there was nothing they could do for me, as Seasonic had already replaced the one that had my computer restarting every few hours. The hardware I have right now doesn't require any more watts than what this thing puts out, so I know that that wasn't the issue. Seasonic has sent me two refurbished replacements since after literally months of headaches and no computer use. I finally got tired of waiting to be able to use it and put another brand in, and now it works fine. Seasonic refused to refund me my money because it was outside of warranty; the only reason being that I had to wait so many months to get help from them that it conveniently fell out of warranty. Great job, Seasonic! I won't be buying anything from you guys for as long as I live. Newegg, you have been good to me in the past, so I will make an exception this time, even though I really expected better of you for how helpful you usually are in situations like these. However, eleven dollars short of 100 sure is a lot of money for someone who makes next to nothing to just be throwing it out the window, which is essentially what I am forced to do now that I am stuck with a refurbished power supply from Seasonic that no one wants. I have it listed on Craigslist, but will probably just end up throwing it away, as it is worth nothing to anyone.

Do not buy from Seasonic. You can't reach a person when you call their customer help line. You can't even reach an automatic service! It directs you straight to their voice mail, and don't be expecting a phone call back if you decide to bother leaving a message.

Other Thoughts: Seasonic sucks.

Manufacturer Response:

Hi Kathrynn F.,

I am sorry but to my understanding if you purchased this unit about 1 year ago, then it should be under warranty and I am certain Sea Sonic USA will not refuse to honor your warranty. If they have already replaced the unit 2x for you, then it is very possible this is a non-PSU related issue.

Please note, if you made the purchase from NewEgg, then it is not possible for Sea Sonic to refund the money to you because you did not purchase the item from us. You will need to contact your point of sales for any refund issues.

As for service, we kindly ask that our customers contact us in writing so the issues can be documented and traced for future reference.

If you have any concerns or any other issues, please contact us at newegg@seasonicus.com Thank you.

1 out of 5 eggsNo Post & Shuts off

This review is from: SeaSonic M12II 620 Bronze 620W ATX12V V2.3 / EPS 12V V2.91 SLI Ready 80 PLUS BRONZE Certified Full Modular Active PFC Power Supply

Pros: cheap (was on sale when i bought it), has good features, modular

Cons: worked great for a few weeks, then the pc shut off, would power on with fans spinning but no post, (no power to cpu?), the it would fully boot for a few minutes then shut off and be dead for a few days thought it was the mobo but no this psu did the same on another system tried different PSU hx750 and both systems ran without fail, so i got a dud power supply, $$ wasted

Other Thoughts: i will stick with high quality, not cheap, brands i know are reliable, ...... it took me far to long to figure out it was this power supply, cause me grief, cash flushed

Manufacturer Response:

Hi Aaron,
I am sorry to read of your case. Have you started a RMA with our USA office?
Normally speaking, if the system will power on and fans spin but no post, this can very well be a MB or software issue or even a poor DC power cable connection issue.
If you have any issues, please contact us at newegg@seasonicus.com Thank you.

5 out of 5 eggsIt's a Seasonic...

This review is from: SeaSonic M12II 620 Bronze 620W ATX12V V2.3 / EPS 12V V2.91 SLI Ready 80 PLUS BRONZE Certified Full Modular Active PFC Power Supply

Pros: Sturdy construction, fully modular design, rock-solid performance, five-year warranty

Cons: Not free, only 80-plus bronze

Other Thoughts: Solid power supply that occasionally goes on sale for ridiculously low price.
Silent operation, unimpeachable power delivery... it's a Seasonic, duh.
I ordered two of these, one for a customer's build and another for myself. My only minor complaint was that the ATX main and CPU cables were difficult to seat entirely, quite a it of effort was needed to get the locking clips to engage. Other than that this model is quiet, delivers clean, steady, reliable power with decent efficiency. It's the kind of component you can install and then never worry about again.
