1 out of 5 eggsGreat while it lasted

Pros: Modular power supplie good fan

Cons: Died right after the warranty, I purchased this in 2/24/2012. when I purchased this model I thought with a gold certification it would last a good while. that is not the case it died no response just dead. I also purchase the sea-sonic SS-750KM3 on 7/27/2011. again gold rated it died within a month of the other. so hear I am with two failed power supplies within months of each-other. I contacted sea-sonic and got the run around. needless to say I will never ever buy another sea-sonic product again.

Manufacturer Response:

Hi Marcy,

I am sorry for your experience with our product. If you have purchased your X-560 in 2012, your warranty is still good (5 years from purchased date). I will suggest you to fill in RMA form on seasonic website: May you have any questions or concern about your power supply, kindly send an email to:
Thanks a lot.

3 out of 5 eggsFailed after a year

Pros: Very pretty. Fully modular (everything disconnects including 24 and 4+4 pin CPU rails.) Came with a sweet velvet bag.

Cons: Failed after a year in a system with good ventilation. Starts up PC (kind of) but fan fails to spin and video goes out after a few minutes, I assume due to insufficient power. Will be seeking an RMA. Hopefully it has not damaged any other components in its death throes.

1 out of 5 eggsPackaging way over the top

Pros: Fancy packaging, ammo pouches for your cables?

Cons: What MrAv8er said :

Worthless manual. PS arrived today 1/23 hooked it up to mobo with bare parts, cpu, 1 stick ram to check if mobo was good and to update bios, no joy. No power no cpu fan spin, no standby led on mobo. Checked 24 pin, 4 pin mobo cpu plugs, power cord, wall socket All ok. So I removed mobo from case (rule out short) did a bench test on a peace of thick foam. booted into bios, for a few min, then power kicks off and ps starts to arc and smoke. Pulled power...(please don.t let the new mobo be fried). So i crack open a perfect running 10 year old D86perl and remove the ten year old antec 450TP psu (good enought to test just the cpu and 1 stick of ram and mobo). Bingo boots right up. Do a bios update, added 3 more stick of ram all show in bios ok. Sooo. I put it all back into new case with the old PS and again it boots up fine. Go figure.

Other Thoughts: I took more time picking the PSU then all the other parts of the build. Looked at reviews here and on other sites and this Psu was rated good but $$. I tried to RMA through Seasonic...good luck. So I did the RMA through NE already have the RMA# Perhaps I got a rare dud? I see when the replacement arrives.

5 out of 5 eggsGreat PSU for the price

Pros: High quality, very quiet and fully modular

Cons: None that I can really think of.

Other Thoughts: Given the price you get a great power supply and it is fully modular. I have tried other power supplies and none of them satisfied me. They either were partially modular and junky or just caused problem. I would buy this power supply again if I had to get another PSU.

5 out of 5 eggs

Pros: High quality, and definitely worth the price for me. Very quiet.

Cons: The power cord doesn't fit perfectly, so the computer shuts off if I accidentally push the connection up. Note: I installed the PSU upside down, so that the fan (that rarely turns on) could blow through a vent at the top of my case, but none the less, the cord should have fit in solidly.

Other Thoughts: Ever since I bought this, almost 6 months ago, I would sometimes think how ridiculous all the complaints about the packaging were. It's just weird and I just don't know if it was that one person complained about it, and then the rest jumped on the bandwagon. I put the extra cables as well as other cables that I have, in the bag that it came with. And I used the box to store my old video game controllers.

5 out of 5 eggsGreat PSU

Pros: Modular, Quiet, Long cables. This PSU really helped me put together a clean build with plenty of air flow. I also enjoyed not having to tie down unused cables. If I want to upgrade, its easy.

Cons: None to report.

Other Thoughts: I have only had the PSU a week now so we'll see how it holds up in the long run, but so far I'm happy!

2 out of 5 eggsTo much attention to packaging

Pros: Incredible packaging. Velvet storage bag with draw string for PS, nylon bag to store unused cables.

Cons: Not working. Poor, no-wait - TERRIBLE manual. Can't ascertain if i'm plugging the right cables onto the right ports.

Other Thoughts: Ive built a dozen rigs over the years, so while I might not be a tech knowledge repository, I'm not the dullest tool in the shed either. However, after purchasing enough components from Newegg to build a new i7 rig, I had a tough time getting it running. Primary cause turned out to be this power supply not working. But due to it having such poor descriptions in the manual, I wasn't sure it was the power supply for days. Finally had to break open a running rig and steal the power supply out of it to trouble shoot.
The packaging was SO over the top as to be almost laughable. Who the H**L stores their power supply in a velvet bag? Personally, I store mine in my COMPUTER CASE. Seriously? How about putting a little of the packaging money into a descriptive MANUAL? This unit had rave reviews from everything I read about it, but right now, I'm not sure why.
