5 out of 5 eggsGreat PSU

Pros: Queit, efficient, legendary warranty backing ... everything a power supply should be.

Cons: I got this at a great price, but it's still on the expensive side. Not really a con, since it's worth the price.

Massive overkill for my my PC (which never breaks 400w) but I like knowing I have more than enough headroom to ensure stability, even if I scale the computer up.

Other Thoughts: SeaSonic is a great manufacturer who cares about their product.

5 out of 5 eggs# yrs later

Pros: I like everything about it honestly. It is quiet, provides good clean power, the cables are sheathed nicely and its had 0 problems after 3 years.

+ the bag the cables come in is a nice bonus. It quickly became my tool stash bag.

Cons: I can't think of any.

5 out of 5 eggsTwo years later, still going strong.

Pros: I have had this PSU in my system for over two years. Since November 2012 to be exact. I put it under a pretty high workload, with a 3930k, two GTX 680's, seven HDD's, etc...

It never runs hot, the fan still spins quietly, the cables it came with have held up well wih no signs of fraying or problems after two years and several reconfigurations.

My system stays on 24x7 and while I would sure love to have a little less power used, this does about as well as possible in efficiency. I am super happy with my PSU, and would gladly buy one again if I were building a new system.

Cons: After two years I really am unable to find anything I don't like about this particular PSU. Though, it never cooked me breakfast which is kind of rude considering how much time I've spent with it.

1 out of 5 eggsFollow up review

Pros: Seasonic offered to prepay shipping for RMA round 2. Obviously not my system, as I have a backup Antec Quattro from 2008 (makes my x79 build 100% stable.)

Cons: This was my first Seasonic psu.

1 out of 5 eggsThought they were the best...

Pros: Worked for 2 years.

Cons: Shuts down randomly just sitting idle, once it does shut down it will not come back on for 5-10 minutes, the unit is not hot and doesn't smell. PSU tester shows "PG" excess of 400, normal readings are 300-350, all rails show fail after a forced shutoff. RMA'd once already... And they didn't fix it. RMA#2410030. Good job guys I won't be buying another PSU from you again, you deserve a two finger hand clap!

Manufacturer Response:

Hi Steve,
I am sorry about your current issue. If the replacement unit exhibit the same issue, then it can very well be the MB / VRM. I am not sure which PSU tester you are using but you are most welcome to start another RMA for your current unit. But may I recommend that you also have your MB tested as well. You can also try to clear your CMOS and update your BIOS. If you have any questions, please contact us at newegg@seasonicus.com Thank You.

5 out of 5 eggs

Pros: Everything about it.

Cons: None

Other Thoughts: This power supply came in the best packaging I have ever seen for a PSU. It came in a drawstring felt bag, came with its own screwdriver for installation...

I had never even heard of Seasonic before I went to build my most recent computer, and after this purchase and a little more research, I have found the brand to beat.

5 out of 5 eggsBest PSU I've ever bought!

Pros: I did my research on my PSU for my most recent build. All the reviews gave this PSU the highest marks and it really shows. I'm currently using it in an OCd 4790k X-Fire rig and it handles it like a champ. The packaging is the best I've ever seen for a PSU. Seasonic has really won me over as a fanboy with this one.

Cons: The price, but you get what you pay for. If you want the best you gotta pay for the best.

1 out of 5 eggsTook a Dump

Pros: Was good while it lasted.

Cons: This unit took a dump after a year of use. I use about 8 hours a day, mostly for gaming.

Other Thoughts: Is there even a warranty to cover this type of failure? I mean a year of use and this, I have used plenty of power supplies throughout the years and Seasonic is usually a great brand to own; I hope this is just do to receiving a lemon unit...? How do you even warranty this for repair!?

Manufacturer Response:

Hi Sangsano, sorry for the situatoin with the power supply. Failure of the unit can be attributed to many factors and once we have the unit inhouse, a full test will be made to see what has went wrong. You have 7 years warranty on the product from the date of purchase. In the meantime, if you have any questions or concerns, please contact us at: newegg@seasonicus.com Thank you.
