1 out of 5 eggsNO GOOD!

This review is from: SeaSonic X-1250 1250W ATX12V / EPS12V SLI Ready 80 PLUS GOLD Certified Full Modular Active PFC Power Supply New 4th Gen CPU Certified Haswell Ready

Pros: This PSU had great packaging. It seemed like a solid build! Right out of the box, it powered my two R9 280x video cards just fine. Had no problems with it, voltages were inside the promised -/+3%.

Cons: After a while of use, this PSU fried a video card, I had to RMA that back, now that SAME video is fried again after repairs, I took a closer look, and it seems like my voltages are way off! With just one video card, my 12V is reading 11.994v idle in bios, in Windows, OCCT using HWMon shows 11.63. Under load (during stress testing) 12v rail dips down to 11.36v which is really far out of spec, the ripple caused damaged to my system. This power supply was great while it lasted, now it's just a giant paper weight to me.

Other Thoughts: I'd like a replacement, however, I don't want to deal with Seasonic's already "Sterling" reputation in the customer service world. Considering buying a different PSU.

3 out of 5 eggsGreat PSU, Horrible Customer Service, if it even exists!

This review is from: SeaSonic X-1250 1250W ATX12V / EPS12V SLI Ready 80 PLUS GOLD Certified Full Modular Active PFC Power Supply New 4th Gen CPU Certified Haswell Ready

Pros: I love the quality and build of this power supply. It also came with very nice packaging. It has worked great for close to a year.

Cons: Customer service appears to be non-existent, at least in North America. When I called their customer service, I have left a message and never received a call back. On my second and 3rd attempts, I received a mailbox is full message. When I called and hit 1 for sales, I got someone on the phone every time, but they would tell me to either email their customer service person or he would call me back, but never did.

Other Thoughts: I purchased this PSU about a year ago and a few weeks ago I started experiencing intermittent times when my PC would just shut off. I have an ASUS P8Z77-WS motherboard that I love and it has on-board LEDs that help troubleshoot problems. I have not found any problems with anything and believe the PSU is intermittently failing.

I would give this PSU 5 stars if the customer service was even average. But since it is so horrible, I will buy my next power supply from a good company that understands the importance of customer service.

Manufacturer Response:

Hi Mark, sorry for the inconvenience. For customer service, please kindly write to newegg@seasonicus.com or usa@seasonic.com and we will respond as soon as possible. We ask for e-mail for documentation purposes. Sorry for this inconvenience. As for your power supply having possible issues, intermitten shut off can be a number of factors, MB, PSU, short circuit or a combination of issues. Please visit seasonicusa.com and start the RMA procedure. We will have the unit tested for you as soon as it is received. Thank you.

1 out of 5 eggs

This review is from: SeaSonic X-1250 1250W ATX12V / EPS12V SLI Ready 80 PLUS GOLD Certified Full Modular Active PFC Power Supply New 4th Gen CPU Certified Haswell Ready

Pros: None

Cons: Worked for 2 years and the the power on line failed so the power supply doesn't turn on. Got a RMA return # off their online site. Wanted to talk to someone if I could return it in person. Called the company, nothing but leave a message which they never returned my call. Maybe they are going out of business. I went and bought another PSU. If they are not going out of business, maybe they should with their customer support!!!!

Manufacturer Response:

Hi James, I am sorry to read of your experience with our support. Please note, the preferred way to communicate for RMA would be via e-mail or our web application as we wish to make sure all issues are documented for easier tracking. If you have any concerns, please contact me at: newegg@seasonicus.com Thank you.

5 out of 5 eggsGreat PSU!

This review is from: SeaSonic X-1250 1250W ATX12V / EPS12V SLI Ready 80 PLUS GOLD Certified Full Modular Active PFC Power Supply New 4th Gen CPU Certified Haswell Ready

Pros: Performance
watt capacity (rated 1250 but in reviews around the web they are pulling 50watts more than rated and it didn't falter, not saying you can, but if you accidentally pull more than what its rated you won't have to worry about it exploding like the cheap PSU's out there)

Good cables and cable length
Silent (I think this should be the case on ALL modern PSU's these days, I've handled several PSU's this year and all of them are silent)

Cons: Can't really complain about anything, both performance, and functionality and the way they put the slots on the modular cables are right where it should be.

Other Thoughts: I bought this on that "auction" site (its popular, you know what I mean xD) for 140bucks about 6months? Original owner used it for a couple of days and got rid of it coz his build plan went somewhere else and he don't need this much power xD

thing is still kicking, I probably pulling out 800-900Watts at max when both CPU and GPU are at full load and of course the PSU don't break a sweat on that kind of loads LOL

And for the person saying the RMA didn't send him back his cables, I've had experience with Seasonic RMA with my previous X750 PSU (didn't have any functionality problem, only thing is that the slot where you connect the power cable at the back was pulled out when I tried to remove that cable, RMA'd just a precautionary measure to be safe) and I remember seeing an instruction on the site and email on how to RMA, it clearly say that you DO NOT NEED TO PUT THE CABLES AND ANY ACCESSORIES that came with the PSU on the retail box and that YOU ONLY NEED TO SEND THE PSU by itself.

so clearly that guy didn't PAY ATTENTION to details of his RMA, and 45bucks to ship? unless you paid for next day air, shipping shoulda just costed you 6-10bucks at most since these PSU fit in flat rate boxes from USPS and if you do insurance you would spend 16-18.65bucks at most, I think he got ripped off with the shipping, not surprising tho he was stupid enough not to see the instructions on the RMA process.

This review is from: SeaSonic X-1250 1250W ATX12V / EPS12V SLI Ready 80 PLUS GOLD Certified Full Modular Active PFC Power Supply New 4th Gen CPU Certified Haswell Ready

Pros: 104Amps on the 12V rail is the big seller here. More than enough to power my two GTX SuperClocked 780's, my OC'd 3770k to 4.4GHz, run my watercooling and case fans. Plenty of cables. Neat little pack they ship this beast in as well.

Cons: None that I can think of, really...

1 out of 5 eggsGuess who's never buying another Seasonic product?

This review is from: SeaSonic X-1250 1250W ATX12V / EPS12V SLI Ready 80 PLUS GOLD Certified Full Modular Active PFC Power Supply New 4th Gen CPU Certified Haswell Ready

Pros: Nice paperweight

Cons: I guess I'll start at the beginning:

The PSU ran for approximately 10 seconds and then popped. (I was attempting to power a CFX setup, pulling maybe 800w)

I then had to RMA, which ran about $45 for shipping.

I just received my item back and guess what?!?!

I didn't get any of my cabling back... no notifications or instructions from Seasonic... nothing. Now I have a PSU that can't be put to use, which cost me almost $300 after shipping back and forth...

I also can't get through to anyone on the phone when calling Seasonic.. I've left a message and have heard nothing back.

It's cliche, but seriously, BUYER BEWARE

Manufacturer Response:

Hi thesethguy,

Did you purcahse this from NewEgg and it failed on initial start up? If so, did you do the RMA with NewEgg or Sea Sonic. I was under the impression that NewEgg provides free shipping return to NewEgg for DOA items so you need not pay for shipping.

If you sent the RMA to Sea Sonic, please send to me the RMA number so I can look into this matter to see where it went wrong with the cables. Normally speaking our service center is sending a complete new unit for DOA so all cables should be present.

Please send teh RMA number to me at: newegg@seasonicus.com so we can track this issue. Thank you.

5 out of 5 eggsworld heavy weight champion

This review is from: SeaSonic X-1250 1250W ATX12V / EPS12V SLI Ready 80 PLUS GOLD Certified Full Modular Active PFC Power Supply New 4th Gen CPU Certified Haswell Ready

Pros: I needed a bigger PSU for my rig. After research I give this supply shot. Hands down the best made PSU out there. I use many different power supplies building custom rigs for my customers. I am going to try and turn them on to these.

Cons: None I can think of...wellmaybe the cables are to stiff. But not a con so to speak.

Other Thoughts: I ended up replacing all my kids power supplies with this one. Going to build another rig when ddr4 comes out. And I have already bought another one of these power supplies and put it in storage.

5 out of 5 eggsExcellent

This review is from: SeaSonic X-1250 1250W ATX12V / EPS12V SLI Ready 80 PLUS GOLD Certified Full Modular Active PFC Power Supply New 4th Gen CPU Certified Haswell Ready

Pros: Great PSU, especially when it can be found on sale w/ rebate.
Has been running non-stop 24/7 for months pulling ~1150 watts from the wall (measured with kill-a-watt. HardOCP "torture test" was to run it at 1113 at the wall for 8 hrs...)

Cons: Gets hot on the back. Exhaust doesn't feel hot though. Not taking an egg as I know pulling that much power all the time makes heat, just a fact.

Other Thoughts: Don't know what guy below is talking about with the multiple rails. HardOCP says nothing of the sort and loads the 12v rail with 100 amps for their testing. Look it up.
Maybe he has dual xeons or something. I don't know how there's 1100 watts pulled from the wall with SLI 680's. Maybe because it's a lie?
I have 670 SLI, OC to max stable clocks, i7 4.7 ghz and topped out stress test pulls well under 700 at the wall. And this is with a XFX SILVER rated PSU so the wattage at the wall is higher than this seasonic.
Not sure what his agenda is, bad PSU's get shipped every once in a while, it could have happened.
