5 out of 5 eggsGreat Product Easy to use / install. Wire management is a huge plus on this item as it is a modular supply.

This review is from: Seasonic SS-760XP2 ATX 12V/EPS 12V, 760W, 80 PLUS PLATINUM Full Modular certified Active PFC Power Supply New 4th Gen CPU Certified Haswell Ready

Pros: I like everything and the installation was easy. I will power it on(for the first time) once the system is complete but for now I'm more than impressed.

Cons: No problems, bugs or defects. Has not been powered on yet but I'm sure it works!

Other Thoughts: Yes I would recommend to all as long as you buy the proper wattage. The brand came highly recommended by several friends that shop here as well.
Product is great 5 Stars.
System has not been turned on as I ordered in 3 batches over a few days and not everything will arrive at the same time.

2 out of 5 eggsPSU DOA

This review is from: Seasonic SS-760XP2 ATX 12V/EPS 12V, 760W, 80 PLUS PLATINUM Full Modular certified Active PFC Power Supply New 4th Gen CPU Certified Haswell Ready

Pros: I'm sure a working unit would be a solid PSU, but mine is dead.

Cons: Poor customer service. Waited over a week for a reply to my support request. I used their website's contact information and have given up hope for a response. I have requested a RMA.

Other Thoughts: I held the PSU for 5 months while gathering other components for my build. Big mistake. Had I tested the PSU immediately, I could've dealt with Newegg instead of Seasonic. I tried jumping the PSU as per Seasonic's directions. No response from the fan, so it's dead.

I've owned many trouble free Seasonic PSUs, so I haven't had a reason to contact their unresponsive "support" department. I requested support over a week ago and haven't received a response. Very disappointing. I'm interested to see how long it takes to get the RMA process started.

Manufacturer Response:

Hi Christophe,

I am really sorry for your experience with our product. We always do our best to avoid any DOA. I don't know which form you used to contact RMA service but if you need, you can visit this page: http://www.seasonicusa.com/rma.htm or send an email to: newegg@seasonicus.com.
Thank you.

5 out of 5 eggsGreat PSU

This review is from: Seasonic SS-760XP2 ATX 12V/EPS 12V, 760W, 80 PLUS PLATINUM Full Modular certified Active PFC Power Supply New 4th Gen CPU Certified Haswell Ready

Pros: - Tons of connectors
- Quiet
- Modular
- It's awesome

Cons: I literally cannot think of anything. Price? I got this over a year ago for about $128. High for a PSU yes but plat rating and modular with a long warranty is totally worth it.

Other Thoughts: Wait for a sale. But I highly recommend this PSU.

5 out of 5 eggsGreat PSU

This review is from: Seasonic SS-760XP2 ATX 12V/EPS 12V, 760W, 80 PLUS PLATINUM Full Modular certified Active PFC Power Supply New 4th Gen CPU Certified Haswell Ready

Pros: Absolutely no issues with this PSU. I was hesitant after seeing some reviews talking about issues with it but saw others mentioning the latest ones being made were fixed. Seems like that is the case. Dead silent, cool and steady.

Cons: N/A

Other Thoughts: Buy.

5 out of 5 eggsThe perfect PSU for my needs

This review is from: Seasonic SS-760XP2 ATX 12V/EPS 12V, 760W, 80 PLUS PLATINUM Full Modular certified Active PFC Power Supply New 4th Gen CPU Certified Haswell Ready

Pros: Plenty of power, efficient, quiet, fully modular with plenty of cables and of course...it's Seasonic. The 7 year warranty is good to have, but unlikely to ever be needed.

Cons: None

Other Thoughts: I got this PSU for my newest build. I went with a mini-ITX gaming build. The full modular design was critical here. I barely made this fit in the Coolermaster 130 Elite case. But it did fit, barely. That's on Coolermaster and not Seasonic in this situation.
It's over spec for what I need, right now. But I don't want to have to be worried when I upgrade my GPU in the next year or so. No worries here.

Manufacturer Response:

5 out of 5 eggsNewegg to the rescue

This review is from: Seasonic SS-760XP2 ATX 12V/EPS 12V, 760W, 80 PLUS PLATINUM Full Modular certified Active PFC Power Supply New 4th Gen CPU Certified Haswell Ready

Pros: 7-year warranty to back the stable power delivery. My first unit failed at 28 days but the replacement has been very stable. 5820k is clocked at 4.4GHz currently and I expect more with ease. Load has been zero issues with the second unit performing as I have expected it to. Four Seasonic PSU so far and many more to come I'm sure, the units live up to their name. My first has been 24x7 for over three years without ANY issues.

I would not hesitate to suggest Seasonic as a PSU manufacturer for any build. The efficiency and even power delivery make their units very desirable.

Cons: My failure seemed to be echoed by other users and in typical fashion Newegg took care of me. I would expect Seasonic to mirror that experience should they have received my call for help.

About the only real con outside of failure was needing to tear down my cable management as part of the RMA.

Other Thoughts: Seasonic has impressed me in the past and will continue to do so. I don't consider their name tarnished from a single failure in my experience. Drawing from personal builds, I have not had more than a few failures in 20 years of system building so build with confidence! I will continue to use Seasonic for future builds.

2 out of 5 eggsPSU failure in under a month

This review is from: Seasonic SS-760XP2 ATX 12V/EPS 12V, 760W, 80 PLUS PLATINUM Full Modular certified Active PFC Power Supply New 4th Gen CPU Certified Haswell Ready

Pros: Fully modular, reputable brand and performance. Was happy yet again with a premier class Seasonic PSU. Quiet operation and good power delivery on the 12v rail with a 7-year warranty.

Cons: Unfortunately, just 28 days after purchase with solid performance, the unit failed to power up my system. After pulling the unit and jumping it to see if there was any response, I was greeted by nothing. I have been using Seasonic PSU in the past few builds with zero issues. Really disappointed that my 5820k system is an art piece now instead of a work horse.

My system under full load should only consume 50%-60% of the capacity of this power supply, no reason for it to fail in such a short period of time.

I hope that the RMA unit will be rock solid and the power supply outlives the 7-year warranty attached to it. This is the first power supply to go on a personal build in almost 20 years.

Other Thoughts: I still have faith in Seasonic, no reason not to as these situations can happen. Should the RMA unit fail in a similar amount of time, I may need to investigate other possible solutions.

Manufacturer Response:

Hi Ken, Sorry for the inconvenience and I do hope our service center has resovled your issue properly. If you have any questions or concerns, please contact us at: newegg@seasonicus.com Thank you

5 out of 5 eggs

This review is from: Seasonic SS-760XP2 ATX 12V/EPS 12V, 760W, 80 PLUS PLATINUM Full Modular certified Active PFC Power Supply New 4th Gen CPU Certified Haswell Ready

Pros: Really solid PSU. I've been running it in my main for well over a year now. This is my second Seasonic PSU (the first being an X-650 that I sold to a friend) and it's again fantastic.

Cons: All my other thoughts are based on $0.20/kWh estimates and window A/C's with EER's of 11.5 BTU per watt.

Other Thoughts: Like everything else energy-efficient, the direct power cost only tells half the story. Since it's used indoors, going 80 PLUS Bronze (82% efficient at 20%) to Platinum (90% efficient), with a 200W DC load, saves a max of about a 0.5 kW/day. If I saved that half-kW, the price difference was more than worthwhile in under a year. The second story is about cooling the area. The old PSU would throw off another 1700 BTU of heat over 24 hours, so A/C would draw another ~0.15 kW/day. Combined, 0.65 kW/day means about $0.13/day or about $47.50/year. Your ROI would be better on light bulbs ($2.50 for a 60W replacement at an orange home improvement store). You'd save about 1.2 kW/day if they were kept on 24/7 so they'd buy themselves in about 11 days. Add in your A/C cost and you're repaid in 8 days at 24/7. Even more expensive bulbs ($5/ea) repay themselves quickly.

5 out of 5 eggsGreat/Efficient Power Supply

This review is from: Seasonic SS-760XP2 ATX 12V/EPS 12V, 760W, 80 PLUS PLATINUM Full Modular certified Active PFC Power Supply New 4th Gen CPU Certified Haswell Ready

Pros: Total Modular Output, i.e. use only what you need. I can't speak about the hybrid mode, but in normal I have yet to hear the fan. All connectors fit tight with very close tolerances which is a very good thing. Cables are plenty long enough to use for a rebuild in a Cooler Master Storm Sniper.

Cons: None.

Other Thoughts: My previous 4 builds I have used Corsair power supplies, and have been very happy with them. I had heard good things about Seasonic P/S's so bit the bullet and bought this for my latest a year ago:
ASRock Z87 Extreme 6
Intel 4670K
CM Hyper 212 EVO
G.Skill Trident X 2x8GB DDR3 1600
Samsung 840 Pro 256GB
WD Black 2TB
EVGA GTX770 SC/ACX (SLI)
SILVERSTONE SST-FP32B-E Front 4 x USB3.0 Port (Great addition for older cases without USB 3.0 ports)

I, like many send in reviews after a build is complete, but for power supplies I like to wait 6-12 months. After all it is the one most important piece in your build. A poor quality P/S can fry thousands of dollars.

Additionally here is a handy tool to figure your power supply needs: extreme Power Supply Calculator Lite
