5 out of 5 eggsGood power supply

This review is from: SeaSonic G-750 SSR-750RM 750W ATX12V / EPS12V 80 PLUS GOLD Certified Modular Active PFC Power Supply

Pros: Reasonably quiet. Modular cables are solid as well as the built in cables. Sufficient amount of modular cables also. Excellent warranty time on top of good customer service.
Haswell ready!

Cons: None? At the price I paid, it's an excellent deal. It's higher now.

Other Thoughts: You get what you pay for (for the most part) I don't regret buying this power supply. I'll know how well it does when I get around to buying an R9-290 or 290x.

5 out of 5 eggsLegendary Reliablity

This review is from: SeaSonic G-750 SSR-750RM 750W ATX12V / EPS12V 80 PLUS GOLD Certified Modular Active PFC Power Supply

Pros: I have had this power supply for over a year, and it has by far been the most solid power supplies that I have ever owned. As usual, Seasonic comes through with their legendary reliability and quality. It is absolutely quiet even under load, and is extremely efficient at running 2 Hardrives, 1 SSD and a GTX 780 and a plethora of other things. All and all, when I upgrade in a couple of years to a new system, I will definitely be getting another Seasonic.

Cons: None that I can think of except for the price. But then again, you get what you pay for.

Other Thoughts: Overall a wonderful power supply by the best in the business. I would recommend for your next build.

4 out of 5 eggsGreat PSU so far!

This review is from: SeaSonic G-750 SSR-750RM 750W ATX12V / EPS12V 80 PLUS GOLD Certified Modular Active PFC Power Supply

Pros: I've had this PSU for about a month now and it's handled pretty intensive games (Like Far Cry 4) very well. It's quiet and I haven't seen any problems with it yet. I've heard good things about SeaSonic and from my experience, they're right!

Cons: The one con I have with this PSU is that the wires that are permanently connected to it are a little short, but I managed to make it work.

Manufacturer Response:

Hi Vincent,
Thank you for your review. Please note, the lenght of the cables are what our R&D views as the longest possible that fits to the power supply output and type of caseu used and as well, not too long as to affect efficiency or performance of the power supply. Thank You.

2 out of 5 eggsHad no complaints until the unit failed

This review is from: SeaSonic G-750 SSR-750RM 750W ATX12V / EPS12V 80 PLUS GOLD Certified Modular Active PFC Power Supply

Pros: You know a power supply is great when you don't have to think about them. Even during stress testing my machine, this power supply remained pretty cool. All the benefits of a semi-modular power supply are great.

Cons: Light use over the course of about 6 months, and the thing failed.

My machine was not starting, so I wiggled the cables to the PS a little bit, tried it again, and heard a POP! I then immediately disconnected the power supply. The horrible smell tells me that a capacitor blew. Surprisingly, my machine continued to boot up - even after the failure! Assuming no damage was done to my PC, I guess this could be considered a pro. Kudos to SeaSonic engineers, but shame on SeaSonic QA.

Other Thoughts: I am writing this review as an awareness and not to complain about the product. It was great while it lasted, but I had bad luck. Other reviewers appear to be pretty happy with the product. I just hope I can find the paperwork to send this back to SeaSonic

Manufacturer Response:

Hi Nima,
Sorry to read of your situation. Please note, if you wiggle the cables and you hear a POP, it is very well possible that the cables were not seated properly (not plugged in tight enough) and this can cause arcing or short circuit. If capacitors blew, then most likely the PSU will not work anymore so for the fact that the unit is still working, you may want to consider the problem at another component or location. If you have further questions or concerns, please contact us at: newegg@seasonicus.com Thank You.

5 out of 5 eggsSeasonic PSU

This review is from: SeaSonic G-750 SSR-750RM 750W ATX12V / EPS12V 80 PLUS GOLD Certified Modular Active PFC Power Supply

Pros: Very Quiet installation not totally Modular but where it is not the plugs from the PSU hardwired are your critical ones. The 24 pin main supply the 4 or 8 pin cpu to motherboard connector and one dual ended PCI-e express connector with either 2 6 pin or 8 pin connectors on it. The rest of the connections are modular.

Cons: The only problem I found is the 4 or 8 pin cpu connector wiring needs to be about 4-6 inches longer so you could route it under and or around the mother board tray instead of across the video card area.

Other Thoughts: I have never bought a Seasonic power supply before, this is my first one and so far I am pleased. They give you several Velcro based wire wraps to bundle wires with and several wire ties in the kit. I installed in a mid tower case relatively easy except for the above problem and it works well! Sorry I have not provided any voltage readings but it is running 2 older sata drives one a WD raptor 36gb and a asus DVD writer and Asus sabertooth 990fx an FX 8350 proc and a 7970 Sapphire video card with no problems!!

5 out of 5 eggsGood quality PSU

This review is from: SeaSonic G-750 SSR-750RM 750W ATX12V / EPS12V 80 PLUS GOLD Certified Modular Active PFC Power Supply

Pros: Bought this for a friend. SeaSonic is one of the best manufacturers of PSUs and renowned for their quality. This unit replaced my friend's dying cheapo PSU.

Cons: None.

5 out of 5 eggsSo far so good

This review is from: SeaSonic G-750 SSR-750RM 750W ATX12V / EPS12V 80 PLUS GOLD Certified Modular Active PFC Power Supply

Pros: Easy enough install into a Corsair Vengeance c70. Plenty of ties and cords. Love badges? They come with one. Most importantly power is stable.

Cons: The 12v ATX isn't quite long enough to go through the cable routing holes to connect to the gigbyte mobo, so its in the front, which may bother some. Also, one of the included screws seemed a poor fit. it cant pass through the C70 and reach the PSU.But 3 screws is sufficient to fasten. Not sure if either is down to the case or the PSU. Neither is egg-deduct worthy.

5 out of 5 eggsSo Far, It's A Winner

This review is from: SeaSonic G-750 SSR-750RM 750W ATX12V / EPS12V 80 PLUS GOLD Certified Modular Active PFC Power Supply

Pros: Running my main system strong for about 5 months now. All voltages are quite stable, even at load. Good build Quality all around makes me confident that it will last!

Cons: Costs a good bit.
Some people seemed to have reliability issues, but haven't ever personally experienced this with Seasonic based units.
The CPU power connector could be longer for larger cases.

Other Thoughts: I haven't done any more testing than normal usage, overclock stress test, gaming, and checking temperatures/voltages, but I am happy with this unit. I have built systems with many Seasonic based Antec PSU's in the past, and never had an issue. So I thought I'd try one of Seasonics Mid-High end units.

After upgrading from a 6950 to a GTX770, my Antec Neo Eco 520 would start to spin the fan up noticeable in gaming. The Antec 900 case isn't great for PSU cooling, either. So I upgraded to this unit, and it has been perfectly silent since!

Running this build fine:
AMD 1090T @ 3.6Ghz Turbo Off (1.32v)
MSI Twin Frozr GTX770
Asus AM3 870 Motherboard
12GB DDR3 1600Mhz GSkill RAM
2 x 1TB WD Black Editions
1 x 256GB Samsung 840 Pro
Antec 900 (Originial) case
