2 out of 5 eggsmediocre power supply.

This review is from: SeaSonic G-750 SSR-750RM 750W ATX12V / EPS12V 80 PLUS GOLD Certified Modular Active PFC Power Supply

Pros: Reasonably quiet. Modular cables are solid as well as the built in cables. Sufficient amount of modular cables also. Excellent warranty time on top of good customer service.
Haswell ready!

Cons: Flaky, Questionable QA.

Other Thoughts: Found out this was my main issue with my H97 motherboard. Or it just doesn't play well with it. Swapped to another PSU and my computer worked appropriately. Disappointed with Seasonic. I expected more for 100$ RMA has been sent in. Might update this again when i get the replacement.

5 out of 5 eggsPowered

This review is from: SeaSonic G-750 SSR-750RM 750W ATX12V / EPS12V 80 PLUS GOLD Certified Modular Active PFC Power Supply

Pros: Seasonic continues to produce a quality product. I have been using Seasonic power supply units to built computers for years and have never had a failure. The modular capability of this unit allows you to customize this unit to your needs. I especially like the extra long cables, they allow for routing around the case to increase air flow. You are able to place them out of the way when organizing the inside of your case. The plus is that it comes with a 5 year warranty, which is really the life plus some for desktop or server computers before an upgrade is needed. I highly recommend Seasonic power supply units as an inclusion in your computer build.

Cons: None at this time.

Other Thoughts: The price of Seasonic PSU are on the high side for some builders and are not used in their economy builds. I build and repair computers for houses of worship and non-profits (at no cost to them) and I use Seasonic. It gives me the assurance that the computer will last when built or repaired.

3 out of 5 eggsGood work for the price, but some flaws

This review is from: SeaSonic G-750 SSR-750RM 750W ATX12V / EPS12V 80 PLUS GOLD Certified Modular Active PFC Power Supply

Pros: * Solid construction
* Recognized brand of quality
* Largely modular, as advertised

Cons: * The 4-Pin cable is not long enough, at all. I don't care what Seasonic R&D says, the cable does not route well-enough in my case. As someone who values proper cable management this is not good.

Other Thoughts: * I'll chalk this up to my own naivete, but I had hoped that a modular PSU would mean I simply have to swap out the 12-pin, 4-pin, and actual box unit, leaving all my carefully wired cables attached so I could plug them back into the box. NOT THE CASE. It was hardly a deal-breaker, but it was frustrating. Don't make my mistake.

4 out of 5 eggsGood, not great

This review is from: SeaSonic G-750 SSR-750RM 750W ATX12V / EPS12V 80 PLUS GOLD Certified Modular Active PFC Power Supply

Pros: * Quiet MSI fans. Those new fans are great.
* The extra VRAM helps me immensely when playing a game on one 1080p screen and watching a video on the other 1080p monitor. My GTX 970 caused stuttering, which was frustrating to say the least, especially when my old 560 Ti didn't.

Cons: * Drivers were a pain. Make sure you have the old drivers for NVidia or Catalyst uninstalled before you put the new card in. Getting my PC to recognize it took a bit of time, but once it started working it was fine.

5 out of 5 eggsLegendary Reliablity

This review is from: SeaSonic G-750 SSR-750RM 750W ATX12V / EPS12V 80 PLUS GOLD Certified Modular Active PFC Power Supply

Pros: I have had this power supply for over a year, and it has by far been the most solid power supplies that I have ever owned. As usual, Seasonic comes through with their legendary reliability and quality. It is absolutely quiet even under load, and is extremely efficient at running 2 Hardrives, 1 SSD and a GTX 780 and a plethora of other things. All and all, when I upgrade in a couple of years to a new system, I will definitely be getting another Seasonic.

Cons: None that I can think of except for the price. But then again, you get what you pay for.

Other Thoughts: Overall a wonderful power supply by the best in the business. I would recommend for your next build.

4 out of 5 eggsGreat PSU so far!

This review is from: SeaSonic G-750 SSR-750RM 750W ATX12V / EPS12V 80 PLUS GOLD Certified Modular Active PFC Power Supply

Pros: I've had this PSU for about a month now and it's handled pretty intensive games (Like Far Cry 4) very well. It's quiet and I haven't seen any problems with it yet. I've heard good things about SeaSonic and from my experience, they're right!

Cons: The one con I have with this PSU is that the wires that are permanently connected to it are a little short, but I managed to make it work.

Manufacturer Response:

Hi Vincent,
Thank you for your review. Please note, the lenght of the cables are what our R&D views as the longest possible that fits to the power supply output and type of caseu used and as well, not too long as to affect efficiency or performance of the power supply. Thank You.

2 out of 5 eggsHad no complaints until the unit failed

This review is from: SeaSonic G-750 SSR-750RM 750W ATX12V / EPS12V 80 PLUS GOLD Certified Modular Active PFC Power Supply

Pros: You know a power supply is great when you don't have to think about them. Even during stress testing my machine, this power supply remained pretty cool. All the benefits of a semi-modular power supply are great.

Cons: Light use over the course of about 6 months, and the thing failed.

My machine was not starting, so I wiggled the cables to the PS a little bit, tried it again, and heard a POP! I then immediately disconnected the power supply. The horrible smell tells me that a capacitor blew. Surprisingly, my machine continued to boot up - even after the failure! Assuming no damage was done to my PC, I guess this could be considered a pro. Kudos to SeaSonic engineers, but shame on SeaSonic QA.

Other Thoughts: I am writing this review as an awareness and not to complain about the product. It was great while it lasted, but I had bad luck. Other reviewers appear to be pretty happy with the product. I just hope I can find the paperwork to send this back to SeaSonic

Manufacturer Response:

Hi Nima,
Sorry to read of your situation. Please note, if you wiggle the cables and you hear a POP, it is very well possible that the cables were not seated properly (not plugged in tight enough) and this can cause arcing or short circuit. If capacitors blew, then most likely the PSU will not work anymore so for the fact that the unit is still working, you may want to consider the problem at another component or location. If you have further questions or concerns, please contact us at: newegg@seasonicus.com Thank You.
