2 out of 5 eggsWorked great, until it didn't.

This review is from: SeaSonic G-750 SSR-750RM 750W ATX12V / EPS12V 80 PLUS GOLD Certified Modular Active PFC Power Supply

Pros: Looks really good, definitely feels like a quality product.
Also runs very quiet, couldn't hear a thing from it.
Power wires were long enough for the most part(kind of a stretch for a Thor V2 case though)

Cons: I turned off my computer the other day to see if that would fix a card reader problem, and the computer didn't power back on. No fans, nothing. Thankfully I had a spare 800 watt PSU from an older PC that I could swap in just in case it was a bad motherboard/switch, etc. Sure enough the PSU was the problem. It just straight up died after 9 months of use.

Other Thoughts: I am US military living in Germany, and the seasonic RMA form states they do not ship to APO?! So I am stuck with a dead PSU with a 5 year warranty that I can't RMA because they won't ship to APO addresses? Thanks a lot seasonic...

Manufacturer Response:

Hi Mark, sorry for any inconvenience you are experiencing. For RMA in EU, please contact support@seasoniceu.com and we will service your power supply for you. Thank you.

5 out of 5 eggsPretty Sweet

This review is from: SeaSonic G-750 SSR-750RM 750W ATX12V / EPS12V 80 PLUS GOLD Certified Modular Active PFC Power Supply

Pros: - Easy Install
- Plenty of watts for just about any build.
- Came with a bag of extra power cables.
- Modular design is really helpful

Cons: - Not any I can think of?

Other Thoughts: Put this is my newest gaming rig, about 250 watts less than my last build and yet it's more than sufficient and saved me some serious money. Overall it seems to have standard build quality and it came with a ton of extra cables in a cloth bag that came in handy.

5 out of 5 eggsSeasonic G-750

This review is from: SeaSonic G-750 SSR-750RM 750W ATX12V / EPS12V 80 PLUS GOLD Certified Modular Active PFC Power Supply

Pros: Good Power Supply. Tested with various builds and works very well.

Cons: Semi-Modular. I wish there is the Hybrid Mode that I can turn off the fan at low load. Cables a bit short.

1 out of 5 eggsAnnoying noise all the time.

This review is from: SeaSonic G-750 SSR-750RM 750W ATX12V / EPS12V 80 PLUS GOLD Certified Modular Active PFC Power Supply

Pros: Power seems stable, semi-modular style is nice.

Cons: Very annoying high pitch frequency almost out of the box (in first day of use) any time there is power to the unit.

Other Thoughts: This is the most expensive PSU I've ever purchased...and so far the least impressive. Everything looks clean and fancy...but it is hard to enjoy with the noise this thing makes. Even with the computer off, you can hear it 15-20 feet away when the house is quite. Having to RMA through manufacturer (requires paying for shipping out of pocket) since I purchased on rebate and already sent in barcode. I will not make this mistake again, and unless the replacement offers a long quite performance life, I will not purchase this brand again.

Manufacturer Response:

Nathan, Sorry for the noise issue. Please enable the ERP (Standby energy savings functions) in the BIOS and this should resolve your issues. If not, please contact us at newegg@seasonicus.com. Thank you.

4 out of 5 eggsOutstanding!

This review is from: SeaSonic G-750 SSR-750RM 750W ATX12V / EPS12V 80 PLUS GOLD Certified Modular Active PFC Power Supply

Pros: This power supply is wonderful. It's from a reliable brand, it's quiet (fanless operation was a selling point for me), it's semi-modular so I use the cables I need and ONLY the cables that I need, and it's 80+ Gold Rated. The price was also amazing. I was able to get it for $99.99 shipped with a promo code.

Cons: The ONLY con I have for this system is that the ends of the non-modular cables are bare which makes it slightly unappealing to look at. I don't really mind it too much but it''s worth docking an egg.

Other Thoughts: Cables aside, this PSU is outstanding. No other comments.

3 out of 5 eggsG750 Gold PSU Review Seasonic

This review is from: SeaSonic G-750 SSR-750RM 750W ATX12V / EPS12V 80 PLUS GOLD Certified Modular Active PFC Power Supply

Pros: Comes in Excellent Cloth Bag, Plenty of Modular Cables to Use. Heavy(durable construction). Nice smooth black colors. Gold Rated.

Cons: Some of the built in cables are unnecessary, such as the PCI-E with a second PCI-E attached. No option to remove unneeded cables that aren't modular. Device Fried within 3 1/2 months.

Other Thoughts: I had been playing a simple game of League of Legends and my computer completely shut off. Puzzled, I hit the power and nothing happened. I unplugged the power supply and turned off the switch. Plugged power supply back in, flipped the switch on and immediately a crackling sound occurred and grey smoke streamed out of the ventilation of the supply unit. I immediately turned it off and the smell of burnt electronics lingered in the air for several hours.

I am in the process of RMA with seasonic and depending on how that goes I will change my review if I am helped. I was not aware the sticker is supposed to be on the side of the power supply, I peeled it off to give my system a clean look, luckily I had the serial number saved on my proof of purchase that I cut off from the box, so hopefully Seasonic will honor their warranty instead of trying to use a loophole against me.

1 out of 5 eggsDANGER: ABYSMAL QUALITY CONTROL/ CATASTROPHIC MECHANICAL FAILURE

This review is from: SeaSonic G-750 SSR-750RM 750W ATX12V / EPS12V 80 PLUS GOLD Certified Modular Active PFC Power Supply

Pros: Becoming well versed in Newegg's RMA procedure

Now I know to NEVER purchase Seasonic products

Cons: I've owned 2 of these power supplies. Both were completely defective and failed catastrophically, possibly damaging other components.

PSU #1:
The first unit arrived with a broken fan. It was completely detached from its "spindle". When the PSU was powered on, the fan rattled around violently and made a horrible grinding sound.

Sent back to Newegg and the RMA process took over TWO FULL WEEKS.

PSU #2
Second unit arrived and worked for around an hour until it EXPLODED.
That's right, one of the capacitors or something freaking EXPLODED with a loud POP!!! and a burning smell.
Who knows if any of my $1400 of brand new high-end components have been damaged/ruined as a result.
PSU will no longer power on, tested by shorting the wires. It's dead.

Sending back for a refund. You could not pay me to put another Seasonic PSU in this computer.

Other Thoughts: I called Seasonic customer service and I was directed to an answering machine. LOL.
Avoid these people at all costs if you care about your other computer components.

I would definitely not trust or buy any Seasonic products, they could ruin your computer or even start a fire! This was seriously loud and could be dangerous.

Manufacturer Response:

Dear Reinhold, We are very sorry for your experience with our products. We will contact NewEgg and investigate this matter as soon as possible. Please note, all our power supplies are equipped with all the necessary safety features to protect your system compoents from damamge so you can rest assured that there is no damage due to power supply failure. Thank you.

5 out of 5 eggsGreat Power Supply

This review is from: SeaSonic G-750 SSR-750RM 750W ATX12V / EPS12V 80 PLUS GOLD Certified Modular Active PFC Power Supply

Pros: Stable power delivery, great temps, modular design a huge plus, very efficient!

Cons: None so far!

Other Thoughts: If you have any reservations about this power supply, just get it! If you will be using 3 power hungry video cards you may want to look at higher wattage though.

5 out of 5 eggsVery happy so far

This review is from: SeaSonic G-750 SSR-750RM 750W ATX12V / EPS12V 80 PLUS GOLD Certified Modular Active PFC Power Supply

Pros: Honestly, the reviews almost scared me away from this PSU. Only time will tell now. A big thank you to the folks in EggXpert that put together the PSU Tier List. After reading that I pulled the trigger on this purchase and even got it on sale.

1) It powered on and has been running nonstop for about 36 hours now. Of course it was powered on and off a few times before I closed the case up. There are traditions and I caught a fan I put in backwards.
2) I had no problem with the cables or connectors. The cables bent where and how I wanted them to. The connectors went on like they were supposed to. Even had to unhook a few and reroute the cables. No problem with either.
3) Yes, if all the cables were sleeved it would have been pretty, but that are black so...
4) I can see where cable length might be an issue in a full tower case like CM's Cosmos.
5) Yes the included screws were silver not black and... they are in the back of my system. They fit and seem to have been made with a decent quality steel.
6) The fan is not a hybrid and is not billed as one.
7) The fan is not loud compared to my case fans.
8) Had to give it some eggs and having no gripes with the cabling, installation or powering up it is a five for now. I'll post again in a year or three after it has had a chance to prove or disprove the important reason I bought it - to power my system.
9) See other thoughts.

Cons: None yet.

Only time will tell if it does the most important thing, efficiently power my system(s) for years to come.

Other Thoughts: Not a con and not sure what caused it. After it had been running in the case for a few hours there was the smell of hot wiring. The system temps were good. The cables were not even warm to the touch. It might have been the new case fan. Just don't know. Bottom line it is still working well.

I found EggXpert under forums at the bottom of the NewEgg main page. Go there and check it out before buying this or any other PSU; quantifiable data, test results, no brand biases and some serious discussion all summed up in an extensive easy to use series of lists.
