5 out of 5 eggsGreat Product!

This review is from: SeaSonic S12G-750 750W ATX12V / EPS12V 80 PLUS GOLD Certified Active PFC Power Supply, Intel Haswell Ready

Pros: This power supply has taken everything I've throw at it and just keeps on going. To give someone an idea of what it can handle (after hours of research on my own and testing to be sure) I have a 4790k (overclocked) and 2 GTX 970's in SLI (Also overclocked) my multi-meter says from the wall I'm pulling about 650 watts (When it spikes) There are plenty and plenty of connections. If you run out of connections on this power supply then you probably will need something more powerful to begin with.

Cons: The only con is myself. *Sigh* I didn't pay close enough attention and make sure this was modular. I mistaked it for the modular one which makes the error my fault and won't deduct an egg for that. Just know it's not modular.

Other Thoughts: If cable management is something you want to look as professional as possible then obviously this isn't a good choice. However, in a full tower case running all wires and cables into the cable management section and a little extra work getting the side panel on, you can make it look pretty clean for people to look inside of your case.

4 out of 5 eggsPretty good with slight problem

This review is from: SeaSonic S12G-750 750W ATX12V / EPS12V 80 PLUS GOLD Certified Active PFC Power Supply, Intel Haswell Ready

Pros: This power supply was very cheap for what it can put out and I haven't run into any major problems with it yet.

Cons: The cables are larger than average and since this isn't a modular power supple cable management can be tough if you don't have a large case. The cables are also really stiff which made plugging everything in hard and cable management even harder. I have a Corsair 500r and still find it hard to close the back panel.

Other Thoughts: It is a great quality supply if you can handle the cables.

4 out of 5 eggsPretty happy with this.

This review is from: SeaSonic S12G-750 750W ATX12V / EPS12V 80 PLUS GOLD Certified Active PFC Power Supply, Intel Haswell Ready

Pros: Good price, efficiency and quality internals.

Cons: Cables are stiff, and the the sata power connectors require too much force to plug in.

Other Thoughts: I'm pretty satisfied with this unit overall. Sacrificing modularity and dealing with somewhat lower quality cables seems like a good trade for the lower price and quality PSU. I would suggest wearing the sata connectors in a little bit by plugging them in and out on an old DVD drive or something. I was honestly a little worried that I was going to damage my SSD when I tried plugging these in for the first time.

4 out of 5 eggsWorks Great

This review is from: SeaSonic S12G-750 750W ATX12V / EPS12V 80 PLUS GOLD Certified Active PFC Power Supply, Intel Haswell Ready

Pros: doing a lot of research to find a good brand but not so expensive that will do its job.

I choose Seasonic. Great finish on the housing, it's heavy so you can tell that it has a quality components inside.

Cons: some connectors were unlabeled., almost did something wrong when inserting an AUX power to the board which is not.

Wires are stiff

Other Thoughts: Carefully sort out the wires before inserting them specially on the board.

3 out of 5 eggsNot to great

This review is from: SeaSonic S12G-750 750W ATX12V / EPS12V 80 PLUS GOLD Certified Active PFC Power Supply, Intel Haswell Ready

Pros: 1. Cheap
2. Good power

Cons: 1. Not modular
2. Cheap wiring makes it bad

Other Thoughts: Long story short, I have an N200 case and bending and moving the cables on this PSU caused them to be sliced? How can that happen when it's rounded edges! It's pretty simple to understand here, the cabling is cheap and so moving around the cables causes them to easily be cut and the wiring is so close to the surface on these it's basically exposed easily. I noticed a knick on a wire, saw this silvery thing and thought it was pretty weird, bent it and discovered it indeed was the wiring. The bottom line is the cables are not really very good and won't stand up to being moved around a lot. The ONLY fix I think would be to get some flex tubing and put that around them for protection, that would've worked but I didn't realize how cheap the cables were so I lost

4 out of 5 eggsExcellent quality

This review is from: SeaSonic S12G-750 750W ATX12V / EPS12V 80 PLUS GOLD Certified Active PFC Power Supply, Intel Haswell Ready

Pros: Quiet, nicely finished and well engineered.

Cons: Slightly tight connectors that were a bit oversized.

Other Thoughts: After a good 72 hour burn in and a few days of long use all seems well and I'm looking forward to long service from Seasonic. There are some glowing reviews of this brand out on the web, and it does seem nicely made.

1 out of 5 eggsDied after less than 48 hours.

This review is from: SeaSonic S12G-750 750W ATX12V / EPS12V 80 PLUS GOLD Certified Active PFC Power Supply, Intel Haswell Ready

Pros: Quiet, when it works.

Cons: I have been a loyal SeaSonic customer for many, many years, none of their product failed me, until this one. When I got it, the packaging didn't look quite new - although I bought it directly on Newegg and it is said to be new. I thought - that might be caused by transportation - it should still be quite reliable. Anyway, it died after less than 48 hours, with just one GTX770 (450W) and a Intel 4771, one harddrive and one SSD. Replaced it with an old Seasonic X 750W, the system now works perfectly. Hard lesson learnd - Don't save the few bucks on power supply - this S12G series is the low end line of SeaSonic anyway. Go with the X series.

Manufacturer Response:

Hi Jie, I am sorry to read about your experience with the S12G. We manufacture this product with the same care and demand to quality as that of our P & X series. I hope your RMA with NewEgg has been successful and that everything is now ok. If you have any questions or concerns, please contact me at newegg@seasonicus.com Thank You.
