5 out of 5 eggsGOOD PSU.

This review is from: RAIDMAX HYBRID 2 RX-530SS 530W ATX12V V2.2/ EPS12V SLI Ready CrossFire Ready Modular Power Supply, New Version with Build-in LED Fan On/Off Switch

Pros: THIS PSU DOES EVERYTHING A GOOD PSU SHOULD DO, AND IT DOES SO WITH VERY LITTLE NOISE. CANNOT BEAT THIS WITH A STICK!!!

Cons: NONE THAT I CAN SEE.

Other Thoughts: IF YOU NEED A PSU THAT PUTS OUT 530 CLEAN WATTS OF POWER QUIETLY THEN BY ALL MEANS TRY THIS PSU YOU WILL NOT REGRET IT.

3 out of 5 eggsGood PSU for a while

This review is from: RAIDMAX HYBRID 2 RX-530SS 530W ATX12V V2.2/ EPS12V SLI Ready CrossFire Ready Modular Power Supply, New Version with Build-in LED Fan On/Off Switch

Pros: Good Color and fan design. Looked real nice with a black and blue theme I had going.
Semi-modular style helped keep alot of excess cord out and keep flow good.

Cons: Started acting up a couple weeks ago. I turn off my pc as well as turn off the surge protector it's connected to to prevent wasting power (because my mouse still lights up even tho the PC is shut off). Eventually, it started having problems turning on and now is finally dead.

Other Thoughts: Working on the warranty now. Wasn't as reliable as i had hoped.

Other Thoughts: Bought this as replacement for old system. Works as expected. Fairly quiet. So far it has been an excellent replacement for the price.

5 out of 5 eggsRAIDMAX HYBRID 2 RX-530SS 530W ATX12V V2.2/ EPS12V SLI Ready CrossFire Ready Modular Power Supply, New Version with Build-in LED Fan On/Off Switch

This review is from: RAIDMAX HYBRID 2 RX-530SS 530W ATX12V V2.2/ EPS12V SLI Ready CrossFire Ready Modular Power Supply, New Version with Build-in LED Fan On/Off Switch

Pros: This power supply has been running in my system for 6 years with no issues. Purchase date was June 2009 and it was in stalled in a P4 then Core 2 Due then a new i5 and now a new i7 that has been active for 1 year. I am running a general PC with no special video card but I see no reason that this card would not be able to provide for at least one high end video card and my other general accessories.

Cons: None, this unit has been very good to me and was easy to install. I still have all the cables and will continue to store them till the day the supply dies. This is the longest running power supply that I have ever owned.

Other Thoughts: All of the bad reviews don't make any sense to me. Power supplies blowing up with a white flash and the caps blowing up sounds more like wires that were incorrectly connected or a severe manufacturing issue. I just hope I don't have any issues because I am buying a new one today.

3 out of 5 eggsOK power supply so far but has loud fan.

This review is from: RAIDMAX HYBRID 2 RX-530SS 530W ATX12V V2.2/ EPS12V SLI Ready CrossFire Ready Modular Power Supply, New Version with Build-in LED Fan On/Off Switch

Pros: Seems to have OK power output and function well enough for a low power demand build.

Cons: Has what I could easily call the most annoying fan ever put in a PSU. Not only does it have a very nerve-racking low tone hum, but also a vibration that seems to be amplified once screws hold the PSU firmly on the case.

BTW my system is quiet now otherwise, and I can confirm it is the PSU making the noise. I find it amazing that in this modern era, anyone could mess up building such a simple thing as a cooling fan.

Other Thoughts: If you are trying to build a quiet system, I would avoid this one to be safe. Seems good enough if you don't care about the noise. (maybe you'll get lucky and have a quiet/different brand of fan in the unit)

This thing is not worth the bother to RMA and I will be replacing it with another brand at some point. Then it shall sit in a closet as an emergency backup or bench test supply only.

4 out of 5 eggsGood for what it does

This review is from: RAIDMAX HYBRID 2 RX-530SS 530W ATX12V V2.2/ EPS12V SLI Ready CrossFire Ready Modular Power Supply, New Version with Build-in LED Fan On/Off Switch

Pros: Fairly cheap, did what I wanted out of it

Cons: A bit loud at times

Other Thoughts: Gives what you need and lasts for a long time. The fan is having problems, but it's probably just bad luck that I ended up with this problem. Would recommend.

5 out of 5 eggsPower up!

This review is from: RAIDMAX HYBRID 2 RX-530SS 530W ATX12V V2.2/ EPS12V SLI Ready CrossFire Ready Modular Power Supply, New Version with Build-in LED Fan On/Off Switch

Pros: This is a great power supply for a middle-of-the-road machine. Just enough power to run a medium grade video card, but also a little overkill for an AMD APU build. Perfect for the starting gamer on a budget. Modular design also makes for easy cable management.

Cons: None so far.

Other Thoughts: This is my second one of these. I bought version 1 about 6 years ago, and it's still trucking along. Power supplies have the tendency to burn out under constant use, but this one passes that test with flying colors.

5 out of 5 eggsPleasently Surprised This PSU is Still being Sold!

This review is from: RAIDMAX HYBRID 2 RX-530SS 530W ATX12V V2.2/ EPS12V SLI Ready CrossFire Ready Modular Power Supply, New Version with Build-in LED Fan On/Off Switch

Pros: -Enough watts for my needs so far
-Long Lasting... I have had mine for 4 years and it has handled lots of Abuse (on almost 24/7)

Cons: A little loud... blue light pretty bright but never realized they may have been a switch for that.

Other Thoughts: I have been more than impressed with this 530w PSU and what it has put up with. This thing just keeps going. I just came to see if people were running similar setups to me with newer graphics cards. Unfortunately it seems the practice of putting your rig parts down is not as common anymore.

AMD Phenom II X4 B50 3.1GHz(X2 550 with 2 unlocked cores)
MSI 880GM-E43 AM3
12GB DDR3 1600 (4x2, 2x2)
Sapphire AMD HD 5670

5 out of 5 eggs18 months and still going strong

This review is from: RAIDMAX HYBRID 2 RX-530SS 530W ATX12V V2.2/ EPS12V SLI Ready CrossFire Ready Modular Power Supply, New Version with Build-in LED Fan On/Off Switch

Pros: Low Cost
Quiet
Reliable
Stable power output
Semi-Modular Power Supply (see note)

Cons: Not 80+ Certified
Needed 24-pin extension cable to reach my Motherboard power plug without stressing the cable (con for me, long enough for all but the largest of cases)

Other Thoughts: I've had this power supply running 24/7 in a custom built home server for well over a year now without even the slightest hiccup. I've lost count of how many hours this thing has on it of power-on time and not once encountered any power/stability issues. I was a little hesitant at first based on the price, but it has exceeded all my expectations. It powers my VM host/file & media server with no problems at all.

For normal PC uses, it will supply all the power you need for your system to run smoothly. For normal systems (1 CPU with mild overclock, Graphics card with 1x PCIe power connector), this power supply will work for you. I would recommend a power supply with a higher power output (esp on the 12v rails) if you want to do heavy overclocking or use high-end or multiple graphics cards (e.g. gaming rig).

A side note on their use of the term "Modular": It has the 20+4-pin Motherboard and 4+4 pin CPU hardwired into the power supply. This isn't a problem as it's needed for all systems anyways, but technically makes this a semi-modular power supply instead of fully modular.

System Specs:
Intel LGA 771 Motherboard
2x Xeon E5430 CPUs
8GB (8x1GB) ECC-FBDRAM
1x Dual-port Intel Gigabit NIC (PCIe)
4x 80MM case fans
2x 120MM case fans
1x 120GB 2.5" HDD
3x 1TB 3.5" HDDs (RAID 5 storage)
Huge old customized Antec server tower case

4 out of 5 eggs

This review is from: RAIDMAX HYBRID 2 RX-530SS 530W ATX12V V2.2/ EPS12V SLI Ready CrossFire Ready Modular Power Supply, New Version with Build-in LED Fan On/Off Switch

Pros: Great colors, I love the fan and the fact that the LED can be turned on or off with a switch on the back. pretty sure 530W is going to be enough for my build, and 80+ bronze is always a plus.

Cons: Wish the PCIe cable was a little longer. also the 24 pin is a very snug fit to my motherboard. takes a little more force than I would like to get it to lock in place.

Other Thoughts: I wasn't sure it worked for a while. I wanted to test it before i put it in my system so i plugged it in to see if i would get the fan or LED to turn on, and nothing happened. I read up online and figured out I had to bridge some ports on the 24 pin and plug in a fan so i did that and everything worked fine. installed to my system and it booted right up.
