4 out of 5 eggsGoing strong after initial KIA

This review is from: RAIDMAX HYBRID 2 RX-630SS 630W ATX12V V2.2/ EPS12V SLI Ready CrossFire Ready Modular Power Supply, New Version with Build-in LED Fan On/Off Switch

Pros: I ordered this for my first build almost three years ago and it died about a week or so after I installed it (worked great till then). I was able to replace it with ZERO hassles and the second one has been pumping out power since then. If you are on a budget and willing to chance take a risk on getting a dud (yay for good rma) then this is definitely a good option.

Cons: First one died fairly quickly and I wish they sent out more modular cables with it. Cable length is also a potential issue as the cable to my upper most dvd drive is taught in a mid size Antec case.

Other Thoughts: After 2.5 years I am upgrading to a bigger power supply, but this one is definitely staying in the toolbag as a very solid back up or for a budget build. Definitely would recommend it, especially for the price point.

1 out of 5 eggsDOA

This review is from: RAIDMAX HYBRID 2 RX-630SS 630W ATX12V V2.2/ EPS12V SLI Ready CrossFire Ready Modular Power Supply, New Version with Build-in LED Fan On/Off Switch

Pros: None

Cons: Would not turn on. This is the first time for me to build a computer and the power supply arrived dead. It really caused me a lot of stress because I couldn't figure out what was wrong for hours until I tested the power supply.

Other Thoughts: Wouldn't buy this product, looking at the other reviews not it either doesn't last long or arrives dead.

Manufacturer Response:

We like to know what went wrong, if you can, please send a email to rma@raidmax.com for faster respond/service.

5 out of 5 eggsGood and reliable

This review is from: RAIDMAX HYBRID 2 RX-630SS 630W ATX12V V2.2/ EPS12V SLI Ready CrossFire Ready Modular Power Supply, New Version with Build-in LED Fan On/Off Switch

Pros: -Easy to install.

-Great power supply still running several months later with lots of use.

Cons: -None

Other Thoughts: -The modular part is a little in the middle, as it has ~4 inch cords running from the unit that cannot be removed, but I actually enjoyed this bit because although it did make cable management a bit tougher it kept the main cords from ever getting close to being strained by the components I installed on the motherboard.

This review is from: RAIDMAX HYBRID 2 RX-630SS 630W ATX12V V2.2/ EPS12V SLI Ready CrossFire Ready Modular Power Supply, New Version with Build-in LED Fan On/Off Switch

Pros: I've had this running off and on for the past 3 years. No issues to date and fan stays quiet. The one I purchased does not have the on/off switch for the LED.

Cons: None, still works.

5 out of 5 eggsReliable

This review is from: RAIDMAX HYBRID 2 RX-630SS 630W ATX12V V2.2/ EPS12V SLI Ready CrossFire Ready Modular Power Supply, New Version with Build-in LED Fan On/Off Switch

Pros: Works great & cover all my current needs. Modular made installing a breeze

Cons: Not quite as crossfire ready as I would like but I need a 1000 watt so it's not the psu's fault I just need more power

Other Thoughts: I should have gone overkill from the beginning but I was on a budget. I will be replacing this psu but I plan on using it in a lesser build

Pros: I'm using this baby with a MSI R9 280 3gb. I like the blue led and it has never let me down yet. It is also very quite for the fan.

5 out of 5 eggsstill going!

This review is from: RAIDMAX HYBRID 2 RX-630SS 630W ATX12V V2.2/ EPS12V SLI Ready CrossFire Ready Modular Power Supply, New Version with Build-in LED Fan On/Off Switch

Pros: I've had this little beast for about two years now and it has yet to give me a problem. It's quiet even at start up and the LED can but turned on or off via a red button on the outside of the PSU.

Cons: None. The cables tend to get in the way but if it bothered me that bad I'd go modular.

Other Thoughts: This PSU is great for first time PC owners. If you plan on doing a lot more modern gaming, overclocking, or anything really tech heavy you may want to go up to 700 or 800 watts but if you plan on keeping it simple or just doing some simple gaming then this little guy is just right.
