4 out of 5 eggsIt's not your father's PSU

Pros: It works, and for a sweet price. It seems to supply the advertised wattage - if you push the unit it should deliver what you demand of it. The modular cable system is frankly awesome. I can't overstress how awesome the modular system is. No more hanging, unused rails means more efficent cooling and less clutter; hard to go wrong there.

Cons: You have to plug it into your mobo to find out whether it works. The unit WILL NOT POWER UP, not even the 12v rail, until it's connected to a mobo, which is not something I have ever dealt with before in a PSU this inexpensive. You have to take a big risk by plugging it in just to find out if it functions. Any PSU should at least show you it can convert power by running it's own fan. I have a feeling most of the returns of DOA units are because of this feature. That being said, it's not actually a feature, is it?

Other Thoughts: I'm happy with it for now. Other reviewers talk about how it is lighter by far than any similarly priced PSU - that doesn't matter to me if it works. What I do not like is that I had to install it before I even knew if it would work. No other PSU I have ever bought functions like this and I don't like the implication there - that if it was defective, my entire system could have been fried before I would know. That didn't happen - but one reviewer mentioned a fire.

3 out of 5 eggsWarning!

Pros: It seems to run just fine once you get it hooked up correctly. It comes with detachable rails so it is very good for space conservation.

Cons: Here's where the warning comes in. If you have a graphics card with two PCI-E inputs on it (I have the GTX660 TI) there is NOT enough voltage on the PCI-e rail to power the card correctly. Even though there are two PCI-e connectors on the one rail, it CAN NOT run the card correctly and the computer will crash any time the graphics card is used.

Other Thoughts: It is an easy fix. Just get an adapter that lets you hook up one of the other rails to the other PCI-e connecter on the GFX card and you should be fine and it will run like a dream. I took off two eggs because it really shouldn't be like this and it didn't really come with any documentation that would suggest to me otherwise.

4 out of 5 eggsRuns Very Well

Pros: -Does its job
-No problems (yet?)
-Had it for like 3 months now and it isn't dead, so that's a great thing
-The light still works and it's pretty (lol), but I usually keep it off just incase something happens :P
-The modular feature helps keep my case clear from unnecessary and random cables
-Pretty quiet
-Cheaper than other PSUs
-Can run my AMD FX8350 and Radeon HD 6670 Ultimate Edition together just fine (I don't overclock!)
-Doesn't die when I have my PC on for days!

Cons: -Cables should be more flexible (Maybe I should flex them more... idk...)
-Not FULLY modular (The ends attached to the PSU should be shorter, in my opinion)

Other Thoughts: I'm pretty glad that I started out with this PSU for my first custom built PC. I've heard a lot of bad things about the build quality of Raidmax PSUs, but this one is doing just fine. I'm planning to upgrade sometime in the summer, though. I like that the PSU has survived the times I've left my PC on for days for many reasons including downloading games and running game server events. I'm not exactly sure how loud the fan is because the stock fan for my FX8350. I'm going to upgrade my GPU really soon, so I'm jumping from a Radeon HD 6670 to a Radeon HD 7850, which requires an extra power from the PSU, so hopefully the PSU will be able to run it... If it doesn't work, it'll be apparent, but I don't have anything major against the PSU so far. Hope this review helps a bit. :P I'm not the best at reviewing, but this is what I think about it so far as a tech amateur.

3 out of 5 eggsDecent PS, stupid rebate!

Pros: Decent quality and works

Cons: The only thing that I did not like about buying this power supply was the manufacturer's rebate. The rebate is only valid for a span of 15 days after purchase.

Other Thoughts: I was kind of miffed that I missed the rebate date due to the time restriction. It takes about a week to receive the product and you have to do the rebate nearly immediately to qualify. Every other rebate I have processed has been for 30 days after purchase. Yes, I should have read the rebate form more carefully, but they should also be more realistic in their rebate requirements as well.

4 out of 5 eggsUPDATE on Previous Purchase

Pros: After first receiving a DOA unit, I did an RMA and got a replacement from Newegg within days. The new unit works perfectly, and I even bought a second one for a build for my girlfriend. It makes our computers glow, too, haha!
Couldn't be more satisfied with both the (functioning) product and Newegg's support.

Cons: The DOA unit was a drawback, but I'm now completely satisfied. Do know that if you buy this, there IS a chance of it arriving DOA, as there are many other reviews that say as much, but if you get a functioning unit, the product is flawless.
