Any PC enthusiast and gamer knows that having the right amount of power for their rig is one of the most important aspects of a stable system. Raidmax presents the HYBRID 2 RX-730SS power supply that pumps 730W to vital peripherals, like advanced video cards. Not only does it perform well, but it looks great too with its durable black satin finish and stained black SECC steel.
Multi video card setups are also accommodated by dual 6pin PCI-E connectors, one of which can be modulated up to 8pins. For your convenience, two 8pin to 6pin PCI-E converters are included in the box. You’ll also enjoy having four SATA power connectors for all of your storage devices. The power supply’s modular design maximizes air flow by allowing you to connect only the cables you need.
The RX-730SS also features a bright blue LED 135mm fan to keep your system cool. Hexflo honey comb cutouts allow for maximum air flow. You’ll also appreciate the high grade black mesh that wraps the cabling to help protect your power supply and components. Make the Raidmax RX-730SS the power supply for all of your PC needs today!
Pros: Power, and lots of it, is very steady, even under processing and peripherals load. The critical 12V rail fluctuation @ 100% load is -.06V max and -.01V average from idle readings, and that's with running an overclocked CPU (+18% OC) and graphics (+93% OC). My old 400W PSU would kick in overload protections under load at these settings, and forget about using the DVD drive.
The sheathed cables are long - great for routing the cables around in a small case like mine, and will reach any conceivable distances in a full size case. There are essentially no cables at all over the motherboard - it's all routed around it.
The blue LEDs are bright and lights up the case interior pretty well - along with the clear air space over the mobo, almost makes me wish that I had gotten the transparent sides option for my case.
Cons: The fan is noticeably louder than before, but not unbearable. I wouldn't call it "silent", however. The big 135mm fan sucks a lot of air through the case (not necessarily a con) to the point where I can hear air flowing through the vent holes up close. I have a bunch of little holes instead of big slots. It's also not apparently heat controlled, so it runs full speed all the time.
The pigtail modular connections instead of flush mount sockets were also disappointing. They took up a lot of space behind the unit, and along with the fact that the PSU itself is slightly longer than my old unit, it barely fit in my cube case.
The 20+4 mobo connector also doesn't snap together to form a single connector. Not a huge deal, but in a small case where you have reach around things to plug things in, it was a little inconvenient.
Other Thoughts: The fluctuations mentioned above were measured during a 3-hour burn-in test that loaded CPU, RAM, 2D/3D graphics, and DVD drive simultaneously.
Don't forget to check the dimensions in the specifications, with regards to your case, because the PSU is slightly deeper.
Raidmax PSU's get badly panned on the forums, but I found this unit to be more than adequate and a great value, especially if the "Up to 85%" efficiency claim in the specifications is accurate.

Pros: I bought this to replace the stock 500watt PSU that came with my Apevia X-Qpack2 microatx case. The stock PSU choked trying to run my new GTX 260. This things runs it without hesitation. Extremely quiet. If there's noise coming from my computer, it's not from the PSU. Modular cabling is great. Very inexpensive compared to other manufacturers.
Cons: My stock PSU couldn't cut it forcing me to buy this one. Would've rather saved the money, but oh well. For an SLI PSU, I would've expected more PCI-E connectors. But it's enough for my microatx use.
Other Thoughts: I can imagine the limited number of PCI-E connectors could be a problem for some. It would probably run two Geforce 9600's or the like, but try to GTX260's or 280's and you'd probably be pushing it. Great price for a PSU of this power with modular cabling.

This user purchased this item from Newegg
Pros: Kinda Modular the cables are modular but there big compared to other modular PSUs. I have had this thing for 5 months and it's still going strong. Plenty of power for any thing unless your gonna be a crazy system builder. Its very well ventilated to. Pretty blue LED
Cons: Not really a con but awhile back I was having problems in games with windows crashing with my games being set to max detail settings. I figured out that my voltage switch in the back was switched to 250 instead of 115. If your getting those problems check that first. Making my computer very unstable but since I switched it back its fine.
Other Thoughts: Running a +7850 black edition OC'ed to 3.4 ram is OC'ed to 1066(which it is 1066 brand but since my cpu isn't am2+ my motherboard doesn't put it as that automaticly) Biostar ta790gxa2+ 3 gigs of ram HIS 4850 Turbo Clock 700core/1200 memory Few 120s in case and cd drive and a HDD. Even if I crossfire I will still have plenty of power

Pros: very well priced most power for the price i could find. I have a lot of fans powers them all with no problem. great power supply for the money.
Cons: one of the cables shorts out if bent the wrong way the problem was fixed with a little tape. "pretty sure it happened in shipping no biggie."
Other Thoughts: i was planing on replacing all my blue fans with red ones latter on but cant find a red fan that will fit in the sock fan size hope that fan never goes out.

This user purchased this item from Newegg
Pros: Several connections available for all types of power needs, powerful 120MM fan, sweet blue LED.
Fairly small for the powerlevel, and works great.
Cons: Have yet to receive the rebate, and from what I've heard, I shouldn't hold my breath on it. :\
Gets a little on the warmer side, but then again, it is a 730 watt supply, could definitely be hotter; so not really a con as much as something to keep in mind before purchasing.
Other Thoughts: I had a problem that caused my first PSU to get fried, not sure if it was a faulty PSU, or something I did on my own.
Raidmax was more than willing to take the item back, and send me a new one...no questions asked. Not even a refurb was sent, it was brand new! I think they must have done next, or second day shipping on it too, cause I got it back like 5 days sooner than I was expecting to!
