3 out of 5 eggsWorked Great

Pros: Great design, fit my chassis like a glove, had exactly the extensions I need from initial build all the way up to upgraded status.

Cons: Somewhat loud, failed after less than 8 months.

Other Thoughts: For a mid-tier budget build gaming desktop, this thing was a dream come true. It was like a tailored extension of the tower itself, had exactly the cords I needed for everything I installed--and it was only my mistake for thinking it would last forever. PC failed to boot up this past Labor Day weekend (I bought the PSU January 15), paper clip test confirmed the PSU was completely dead, though I'd used my computer and shut down as normal the night before with no issue. I highly recommend this unit--for a temporary fix. Those looking to save some cash on assembling a cheap to mid-range build can install this and forget it, but as soon as you can afford to start upgrading and replacing parts, put this at the top of the list.

2 out of 5 eggsNOISY

Pros: It works.

Cons: Noisy. Sounds like there's a truck idling outside of the house. And yes, I confirmed that it is the PSU fan making the noise.

Manufacturer Response:

First we like to thank you for your review.
We have heard your response and forwarded over to our production team in our manufacture factory overseas.
We're sorry that the fan is making noise for you.

5 out of 5 eggsVery reliable power supply

Pros: Very quiet fan, with an optional Turbo mode for rapid on-demand cooling. Mesh sleeves on cables prevent tangles and look great in a windowed case.

Ample power for a loaded system with multiple drives, an add-in graphics card and add-in sound card.

Cons: SATA power cables are a bit short for systems with multiple drives mounted in various locations in a case. My case has HD and SSD bays with a large gap between them and the DVD/Blu-ray bays. I have an SSD, 3 HDs and 2 DVD/Blu-ray drives. It's a difficult stretch to get the cables to reach the drives w/o putting tension on the connectors.

5 out of 5 eggsGood Power Supply

Pros: Powers stuff (3+ months)
Quiet (haven't tried the red fan button)
80-plus bronze

Cons: Not 80-plus platinum?

Other Thoughts: Running an AMD Athlon 740, Radeon HD 7850 (slight OC), single 7200 RPM HDD, M/K, basic speakers this thing pulls at max around 220 watts from the wall (tested with a killawatt meter). Idling, I only use around 75 watts average, low end 60 watts high end 85 watts.

Given my idle wattage, it runs outside efficiency range (being under 20%) and I may be wasting money. So maybe I should have bought a smaller power supply. Regardless, it's for a gaming computer that I turn off regularly, so I'll save more money on the 80-plus rating than I'll lose on the idle time (only about 20% of the time it's on).

5 out of 5 eggsAffordable PSU at 600W

Pros: Simple, affordable, quiet

Cons: Doesn't magically have more leads than promised.

Other Thoughts: First time going with Raidmax - not disappointed.

Using it as the backbone of my crypto coin mining workhorse powering a quad core AMD cpu and a couple of ATI gpus. Hasn't put up a fuss, just works.

Has a red button on the back to increase cooling/fan speed (at the cost of more noise).

Manufacturer Response:

1 out of 5 eggsNOISE

Pros: It turns on my computer, which I expected when I made the purchase.

Cons: NOISE. Yes I am yelling to help you hear over the NOISE of my Power supply. DO NOT BUY. Unless of course you either 1) like loud noises coming from your PSU or 2) are deaf. If you fall into either of those two categories then this is the PSU for you.

Other Thoughts: Complete garbage. How are companies still making fans that are this noisy? Seriously, HOW?

4 out of 5 eggsIt's White

Pros: This isn't a power supply I really wanted. It isn't modular, doesn't have active PFC, I prefer single rail 12V -- BUT, it's white! Aesthetic. Goes well with my new white case; got tired of all my usual black ones. And it was cheap, at the time, although it is worth the current price.

Cons: n/a

Other Thoughts: So I had to thread the many power cables through the back side to hide the them all, but that's why I bought an 8" wide case for enough clearance. In several occurrences the length of the cable was too short by about an inch; thus I had to really stretch them taut, which may eventuate in loose and intermittent connectivity. We'll see.

Manufacturer Response:

Dear Customer,
We're glad that this product worked out so well for you. We hope you'll enjoy this item for many years to come.

1 out of 5 eggsDefective

Pros: Colors. I liked the idea of a turbo fan.

Cons: It was dead on arrival. I should have listened to everyone else.

Other Thoughts: You would think that Raidmax would do something since a majority of people are receiving a defective product.
I bought this to replace a Raidmax RX-530SS. (which was a decent product) I'm extremely disappointed that Raidmax is selling this garbage though.

Manufacturer Response:

Dear Customer,
We are terribly sorry that this PSU came defective upon arrival for you.
For this PSU, there is a 2 year warranty
You may email rma@raidmax.com or call for live support (909)623-6789 from Mon~Fri 9am to 5:30pm pst.
