2 out of 5 eggsDied after 5 months.

This review is from: RAIDMAX RX-850AE 850W ATX12V v2.3 / EPS12V SLI Certified CrossFire Ready 80 PLUS GOLD Certified Modular Active PFC Power Supply

Pros: Decent price. Plenty of cables. Modular. Went quietly instead of slaughtering my rig.

Cons: Died after 5 months in a 550W max system.

Other Thoughts: Luckily I had a spare PSU to swap out to test with.

Manufacturer Response:

Dear Customer,
We're sorry to hear that you are not satisfied with the PSU.
If the issue is caused by the PSU, and it's only been 5 months, you're still under warranty.

4 out of 5 eggsRaidmax RX-850AE 850w Power Supply

This review is from: RAIDMAX RX-850AE 850W ATX12V v2.3 / EPS12V SLI Certified CrossFire Ready 80 PLUS GOLD Certified Modular Active PFC Power Supply

Pros: Modular!! Lots of power! 4 12v rails all rated at 40a EACH! All the SATA (8) and molex (8) connectors you could want. Enough power connectors for 2 high end pci-e video cards. Great cooling and a nice box to use for just about anything.

Cons: First one was DOA. Hit the power switch and the fans would bump and then stop. I tested it in two other systems, same result. Put an old junker 350w unit in, worked like a charm. I don't like having to pay return shipping for a dead unit! 1 egg for DOA.

Other Thoughts: Put this into an Antec 300 case with a MSI 970 gaming motherboard, AMD FX-6300 Vishera 6-Core 3.5GHz cpu and cooled it with a Cooler Master Seidon 120V water cooler and 8gb of G.SKILL Sniper Series DDR3 1866 ram. After loading Windows 7 Ultimate Speccy showed the cpu temp at 7c at idle. This thing is FAST!!

4 out of 5 eggsGood PSU

This review is from: RAIDMAX RX-850AE 850W ATX12V v2.3 / EPS12V SLI Certified CrossFire Ready 80 PLUS GOLD Certified Modular Active PFC Power Supply

Pros: Easy Install
Modular so it makes cable routing pretty clean

Cons: The 20+4 pin attachment not as good as some other PSU's I have owned. In the past they 4 pin is connected via a slider. On this PSU it is a piece of tape.

This connection caused me to not have a solid connection and when I tried to boot my PC the first few times my fans spinned at a quarter turn and all the lights on my case flickered. I thought the PSU or mother board was defective. After much trouble shooting I took off the 24 pin from the mother board and noticed with the tape is was not flush. I removed the tape and put in first to 20 pin then the 4 and problem solved.

5 out of 5 eggsAwsome PSU

This review is from: RAIDMAX RX-850AE 850W ATX12V v2.3 / EPS12V SLI Certified CrossFire Ready 80 PLUS GOLD Certified Modular Active PFC Power Supply

Pros: Got it running, two R9 270X in crossfire, it rocks, switched from 5670 in crossfire this is way better, the fan only comes on every few minutes, and only runs for a few seconds, Absolutely no sound the rest of the time!!

Cons: The fan is a little loud when it comes on, but just for a few seconds

Other Thoughts: I put it in a Skyline 07-G full tower gaming case, w/7 fans, temp never gets above 50 degrees f !!

5 out of 5 eggsFirst Build PSU

This review is from: RAIDMAX RX-850AE 850W ATX12V v2.3 / EPS12V SLI Certified CrossFire Ready 80 PLUS GOLD Certified Modular Active PFC Power Supply

Pros: -Lots of power( 88%efficiency x 850w / 100(%) = 748w of raw power
-Overclock i7 920 to 4.4 w/gtx670
-Semi-modular, best cable management

Cons: -None up to date

Other Thoughts: That PSU is really silent as I tought it would be louder.

3 out of 5 eggsNot so good

This review is from: RAIDMAX RX-850AE 850W ATX12V v2.3 / EPS12V SLI Certified CrossFire Ready 80 PLUS GOLD Certified Modular Active PFC Power Supply

Pros: Worked well for about 1 1/2 years then it sent a power surge to the components in my computer and fried everything

Cons: It appears to have fried all the components in my computer

Other Thoughts: just very disappointed at the total amount of money lost due to the poor quality of this power supply

Manufacturer Response:

Dear Customer,
If the PSU under 2 years, it's still under warranty.
If you like to process a replacement, please send a email to rma@raidmax.com for faster respond/service.
