5 out of 5 eggsStill strong after a year

Pros: -No issues, it's still running strong.

Cons: -Rebate center stinks

Other Thoughts: Guy below deducted an egg since it only does 1020w continuous, 1200watt is peak a lot of psu manufacturers fib on this stuff especially ones like Raidmax who have a terrible name..
Either way, you could run 4-7950s at stock with this psu or 3-7950s overclocked.. Not many people do that.

i5-3570k@4.5Ghz
2x 7950s stock
256gb ssd
2tb hdd
Dual loop water coolings setup
11x Yate Loon 120mm Medium speed fans
And this psu doesn't even grunt from what I have.

4 out of 5 eggsNot 1200W as far as the 12v rail is concerned

Pros: Good selection of cabling and a cute box.

Cons: the 4 12v 40amp rails is a bit misleading since you can't use them all and expect to get 40 amps each. The max listed for combined use of all 4 rails is 1020W so it sort of falls short there given that reputable power supply companies will rate off of their 12v rails COMBINED ability to deliver continuous wattage. A shame.

3 out of 5 eggsGood psu, bad rebate center.

Pros: -It does the job, holds up my two gtx 480s and my i5 without any problems.
-It's 80 plus gold certified according to the website.
-Seems to be solid, under load the voltages didn't drop at all.
-Everything was in spec except the pg value
-Quiet, probably the most silent part of my pc.
-Partially modular
-Nifty plastic box it comes in, like a cheap tackle box with computer components

Cons: -The raidmax call center didn't understand my questions and wasn't very tech savvy. Sounds more like some guy who answers the phone for everything.
-Didn't know if it was much of a con but the P.G. value tested out as high (over 900ms) with my psu tester.
-Only a 1yr warranty
-I was disqualified for sending the packing list instead of the actual invoice not much difference imo.
I mean wouldn't you want proof I didn't take the bar code off an older psu and mail it in on a canceled invoice? I deducted 2stars for this.

Other Thoughts: Still $159.99 + $16.99(1yr extended warranty) isn't terrible for a 1200watt psu, but for a few bucks more I could of gotten something higher quality, with a better warranty and higher quality components.

It'd be different if it were a $10 rebate but $40 (1/4th the purchase price) is too much to be forgiven.

5 out of 5 eggsEfficient PS with lots of connectors

Pros: Very efficient: My UPS has a wattage display to show how much power is being drawn, and this PS decreased the reading significantly over the one it replaced. LOTS of connectors; almost no way you will run out. Quiet and stable. Enough PCIe connectors for 3-way SLI, if you choose to go that way. Comes with thumbscrews if you want a tool-less installation. (I preferred to use regular screws and use the thumbscrews for my case panels--after all, how often do you unmount your power supply?)

Cons: For some reason, they include both an 8-pin and a 4+4 pin EPS12V connector. As you will never use both, and these are not modular connectors, you will always have one unused connector hanging around in there. Not good for cable management.

Other Thoughts: While this unit is a bit on the expensive side, you do have the advantage of a unit you will almost certainly not outgrow, due to its high power rating and plethora of connectors. I used to always look for the least expensive components that would do the job, but lately I have seen the wisdom of spending more now on something you will be able to use longer.

1 out of 5 eggsBeware

Pros: Newegg RMA

Cons: Recieved two duds in a row that I tested on two different computers. Instead of wasting my time with a 3rd attempt, I picked up a COOLER MASTER Silent Pro Gold Series 1200W, and it works great.

Other Thoughts: Avoid this product!

1 out of 5 eggsHorrible Power Supply

Pros: I didn't have a chance to find any...I stepped right into the Cons.

Cons: I experienced either a faulty auto-voltage sensor on both of the RaidMax PSUs I bought (one from NewEgg) OR these PSUs are SIGNIFICANTLY less powerful than advertised. As soon as I powered my computer on, it would make a clicking noise every half second or so for about 10 seconds and then power off. This cycle would repeat over and over every 5 seconds or so - On (with clicking) for 10 seconds, off for 5 seconds, on, off, and so on.

Furthermore, while this thing was freaking out, it would actually power on all of my devices! NOT GOOD...

Other Thoughts: Will never buy a RaidMax PSU again. Replaced with a CORSAIR Professional Series 1200W (purchased at Fry's) and have not had a single issue since.

5 out of 5 eggsBeastly

Pros: Tons of power, rock solid voltages, good weight to the unit.

Cons: A little pricey, but good with a combo deal.

Other Thoughts: Definitely considering using these in my higher end units if they prove reliable over time.
