5 out of 5 eggsA beast

This review is from: RAIDMAX RX-1200AE 1200W ATX12V v2.3 / EPS12V SLI Certified CrossFire Ready 80 PLUS GOLD Certified Modular Active PFC Power Supply

Pros: It's modular, it's high power, it's got everything. Came with plenty of spare cables and has plenty of spots to put them. Especially awesome is the extra-long SATA power cable.

Cons: Some of the cables that should have been modular are not. There are too many PCI-e power cables that you can't remove. Seemed an odd design choice. Not a deal breaker unless you really care about aesthetics.

5 out of 5 eggsWorks Great

This review is from: RAIDMAX RX-1200AE 1200W ATX12V v2.3 / EPS12V SLI Certified CrossFire Ready 80 PLUS GOLD Certified Modular Active PFC Power Supply

Pros: Ive been building systems for many years now and Ive always used high end PSU's, I was a little worried after reading some of the reviews here. But I can honestly say that the Power Supply that I recieved is working awesomely and it is used to its full potential, this guy "Sean" states in his review that it drops to 11.75 in voltage- this is not a huge deal, however lower than that would be. And you have to consider what "software monitor he is using as well, whether it is Aidia64 or HWMonitor or something else. My system specs are- GA-x58a-ud3r rev. 2.0 -- i7 930 Water-cooled By H50 (Overclocked 3.6GHz) -- 12GB Muskin Redline DDR 1600 (Overclocked-Turbo via Bios) -- 2X GTX 580 sli (Super-Oveclocked) . So if Your an overclocker and Your experienced enough this PSU will do just fine. This Power Supply has been running for 120 days + with a Windows 7 64 Raid0 and Mavericks 10.9 Hackintosh install, Mac dont recognize the sli and HWMonitor reports the temp a little higher than Windows does. Im not saying that any of the "bad" reviews are pointless, but like ive noticed with everything else Ive bought from here, stuff will get a bad review when in all actuality its a good product. Also keep in mind when buying stuff "you get what You pay for" sometimes. But most of these Guys here that give bad reviews say their "tech level" is High which i think is B.S. . Im using the PSU on a bad MOBO even, My last 1250 fizzled and popped cause i forgot to clean out the dust screen (never cleaned but once after 3.5 years) I wont make that mistake again. But anyway now my MOBO wont stay powered off because of that reason, its like a ghost pushes the power button when I shut it down after about 5 seconds. LOL :D But hey at the end of the day Scooby Doo is still a cartoon... Again NOTE: Power Supply has been running for 120 nonstop days

Cons: None as of yet

Other Thoughts: I would buy again if I was in a crunch and needed to save some money

2 out of 5 eggsNot 1200W Power as declared

This review is from: RAIDMAX RX-1200AE 1200W ATX12V v2.3 / EPS12V SLI Certified CrossFire Ready 80 PLUS GOLD Certified Modular Active PFC Power Supply

Pros: Bought a few week ago. Used for 2xHD7990 + 1 HDD + i3 processor.

Cons: On Power more than 850W - burning smell, so my seconf Video card is running on 50%.Nver even tried to use full power 1200. Probably will be burned out.
It was manufactured with the screw holes a few millimeters off.

Manufacturer Response:

1 out of 5 eggsGood while it lasted

This review is from: RAIDMAX RX-1200AE 1200W ATX12V v2.3 / EPS12V SLI Certified CrossFire Ready 80 PLUS GOLD Certified Modular Active PFC Power Supply

Pros: It looks great, sounds great and feels solid

Cons: the PCI-E rails and hard drive power died after two weeks of use... Only one PCI-e rail worked after very little usage. i think it also killed my hard drive, brand new SSD is now has no power..
BEWARE.

Manufacturer Response:

Dear Customer,
We are sorry to hear that this PSU didn't work out for you.
However, it seems like it is still under our 2 year warranty.
Please email rma@raidmax.com, we would like to hear from you.

1 out of 5 eggsFailed Next Day

This review is from: RAIDMAX RX-1200AE 1200W ATX12V v2.3 / EPS12V SLI Certified CrossFire Ready 80 PLUS GOLD Certified Modular Active PFC Power Supply

Pros: Worked well and powered a Powercolor dual 7990 6gb that required 850 watts of power

Cons: Failed next day and am still having problems since my computer still will not start and i think that it ruined my hard drive and my motherboard as well as the power supply, am gonna be RMAing it.

Other Thoughts: While it worked it worked great. Then next day just no sound and my power went out in my room and had to reset the breaker only to discover that nothing could turn on, typing from my laptop btw

Manufacturer Response:

Dear Customer,
We are sorry to hear that the PSU didn't work out for you.
We would love to hear from you and like to know the detailed reasons why the PSU failed.

3 out of 5 eggsRebate sucks

This review is from: RAIDMAX RX-1200AE 1200W ATX12V v2.3 / EPS12V SLI Certified CrossFire Ready 80 PLUS GOLD Certified Modular Active PFC Power Supply

Pros: works

Cons: the mail in rebate is only 15 days from time of purchase, so after delivery time and install time if you haven't mailed it in three days of receiving it they refuse your rebate. no chance to test product for RMA before rebate expires,

message to Raid max:

I will NEVER buy your products again, every other manufacturer provides 30 day rebate.
you literally ripped me off $20!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Manufacturer Response:

Dear Customer,
We're sorry to hear about the rebate problem that you're having.
We usually have a 3rd party company that process the rebates, so the restriction & guidelines are set by another party.
If you have more questions and concerns, please email rebate@raidmax.com
Thank you for choosing Raidmax.

2 out of 5 eggsNOT FOR OVERCLOCKERS!!!

This review is from: RAIDMAX RX-1200AE 1200W ATX12V v2.3 / EPS12V SLI Certified CrossFire Ready 80 PLUS GOLD Certified Modular Active PFC Power Supply

Pros: Supposidly 1200W. Comes with a lot of hardware for mounting. Very quiet operation.

Cons: Terrible Voltage droop. I didn't load more than 400W on this thing (balanced between two rails) before I witnessed graphics cards freaking out because the voltage going to them dropped from 12V to 11.75V.

Other Thoughts: I suppose if this was purchased for a novice build that ran stock and required power for a lot of non-power sensitive devices it is a great deal. However if you're a serious overclocker stay far away from this thing. You may be tempted to save a buck, but this thing will disappoint you well before you have time to add even half it's rated load.

Manufacturer Response:

Dear Customer,
We're terribly sorry that this PSU did not work out for you.
We would like to hear from you and find out what caused this PSU not suitable for your case.
Please email rma@raidmax.com or call for live support at (909)623-6789 from Mon~Fri 9AM to 5:30pm pst.
Again, we appreciate you choosing Raidmax.

1 out of 5 eggsBlew the fuse

This review is from: RAIDMAX RX-1200AE 1200W ATX12V v2.3 / EPS12V SLI Certified CrossFire Ready 80 PLUS GOLD Certified Modular Active PFC Power Supply

Pros: None so far.

Cons: Built gaming rig, plugged it in and blew the fuse for the wall. No power to motherboard at all. No lights, no error codes. Nothing. Will NOT choose this brand again.

Other Thoughts: Was really excited to see this rig glow, sucks to have to wait for another piece of the puzzle.

Manufacturer Response:

Dear Customer,
We're sorry to hear that this PSU did not work out for you.
Please email rma@raidmax.com or call for live support at (909)623-6789 from Mon~Fri 9AM to 5:30pm pst.
See if we can resolve any issues for you.
We would like to know how it can blow the fuse and what's the reason it might have caused this accident.
Thank you

3 out of 5 eggsGood supply, bad cables

This review is from: RAIDMAX RX-1200AE 1200W ATX12V v2.3 / EPS12V SLI Certified CrossFire Ready 80 PLUS GOLD Certified Modular Active PFC Power Supply

Pros: It supplies good power and can drive three video cards with multiple peripherals without any serious trouble.

Cons: Two of the modular pci-e cables apparently were not very well put together as the power supply lines separated from the plug where two where crimped in one connector. Now I have two useless pci-e cables.
