1 out of 5 eggsDoes not work

This review is from: RAIDMAX RX-735AP 735W ATX 12V v2.3/EPS 12V SLI Ready CrossFire Ready 80 PLUS BRONZE Certified Modular Power Supply

Pros: None.

Cons: PSU blue LED flashed blue and turn directly off. It will constantly power on and directly power off.

Other Thoughts: Raidmax is a pretty good company but my psu is not working. Its a DOA and I'm pretty disappointed. It would be a beast psu to go with the case I have. Its just the psu doesn't work at all.

Manufacturer Response:

4 out of 5 eggs

This review is from: RAIDMAX RX-735AP 735W ATX 12V v2.3/EPS 12V SLI Ready CrossFire Ready 80 PLUS BRONZE Certified Modular Power Supply

Pros: Modular

Works

Quiet

Great price

I trust it. Great little PSU.

Cons: Not fully modular. You will obviously need a CPU and mobo power connector, but I prefer when I buy a modular PSU for it to be fully modular so that I have total control over my cable management. Also since it's not fully modular you should know the 20+4 mobo and cpu power cable are about medium length and if you have a large tower or need to route your cables it will be difficult with this PSU. And you can't switch them for a longer set since it's not fully modular. But we made it work, it was quite a stretch!

4 out of 5 eggs

This review is from: RAIDMAX RX-735AP 735W ATX 12V v2.3/EPS 12V SLI Ready CrossFire Ready 80 PLUS BRONZE Certified Modular Power Supply

Pros: So far it has done great.

Cons: The 8 pin connector could have been 3 to 4 inches long for wire management. I had to run it partially across my MB.

5 out of 5 eggsSolid Power Supply

This review is from: RAIDMAX RX-735AP 735W ATX 12V v2.3/EPS 12V SLI Ready CrossFire Ready 80 PLUS BRONZE Certified Modular Power Supply

Pros: This PSU is well built, quiet, and modular. Really fit my needs for a plus 600w PSU at a good price.
**Also, a long CPU power cable! reached behind the motherboard and out the top with a little length to spare in my Rosewill Throne full tower case!**

Cons: -Cannot turn off LEDs in fan. The only reason I mention this as a con is because I was able to turn them off on the Raidmax 535w PSU I own.
-Unless I missed something, the PSU has 6 cable hookups and only 5 cables. really threw me more a curveball while routing the cables in my computer.

Other Thoughts: Liked my Raidmax 535w so much that when it was time for for power, I didn't think twice about buying this PSU. Hands down the best value for the price. FYI my 2 year old 535w still works fine and will be saved for a future build.

Current build for load reference purposes:
-ASUS M5A97 Board
-AMD FX-6300
-G.Skill ripjaws 2x4GB DDR3 1600
-2x Sapphire HD 6850's crossfired
-3x 3.5" HDDs
-5x 140mm Fans

4 out of 5 eggsgreat price and product

This review is from: RAIDMAX RX-735AP 735W ATX 12V v2.3/EPS 12V SLI Ready CrossFire Ready 80 PLUS BRONZE Certified Modular Power Supply

Pros: 1 quiet, 2 runs cool, 3 modular 80+ bronze cert is a great plus in my book.this is the first PSU I've bought outside another name brand that I usually go with.So far this one isn't bad,it's still running strong.no heating issues and I have my PSU bottom mounted and it even seems to help with the overall case temperature.

Cons: This PSU has a few nitches I found.the biggest problem is that the wire length/cable length was just too short for some of the wire routing I wanted.if the makers only put at least another inch, two inches would have been awsome, this would have got my 5 egg rating regardless.I have a mid size tower and Ii don't like wires/cables interfering with airflow efficiency.so if you have backboard wiring routing in mind I strongly suggest another product unless you have a mini/micro mobo/parts to use this PSU with.Perhaps it would better the product to label itself what size of case it is best recommended for?And would it kill manufacturers to include zip ties or some other kinds of wire/cable organization hardware?I know most of us that build our own machines have them in our toolboxes but I know plenty of people that won't.

Other Thoughts: not necessarily a "con" so to say,and as all computers go without saying, regular cleaning is a must,I have prescreens on my case ,fairly wide filters, but this PSU tends to get dusty easily and quickly.lastly on a scale of 1-10 (1) being the least and (10) being the worst the wire /cable flexibility seems a bit still to me rate it a 3 on that scale.was noticeable but for me was not enough to call it a "con"but it may be for some other people.

This review is from: RAIDMAX RX-735AP 735W ATX 12V v2.3/EPS 12V SLI Ready CrossFire Ready 80 PLUS BRONZE Certified Modular Power Supply

Pros: Works great, no fluctuations or let downs so far and It's been over 6 months. Fan is wicked quiet and is only barely audible. Has plenty of power to feed everything I've thrown at it so far. Also the blue leds match the rest of my case leds almost perfectly :) Modular cables worked great as they should as well, plenty of plug ins.

Cons: None as of yet

4 out of 5 eggsNice PSU, Nice Price

This review is from: RAIDMAX RX-735AP 735W ATX 12V v2.3/EPS 12V SLI Ready CrossFire Ready 80 PLUS BRONZE Certified Modular Power Supply

Pros: Good power, modular design, nice lightshow.

Cons: Stiff cabling, cables could be a bit longer.

Other Thoughts: I've had my CyberPowerPC GUA250 for over a year now and have always worried about a couple of bottlenecks in it's performance, chief amongst them being the PSU. Research online made me realize that I may have a potential hand grenade inside my chassis, just aching to fail and potentially take the whole PC with it.
I purchased this newer PSU based on a few criteria. More power; apparently my OEM PSU may not actually be able to deliver the 500 watts "not clearly posted" on its label (probably cannot even tolerate loads over 300). Versatility; this new PSU has a semi-modular design cutting down on cable clutter, as well as providing more connection options. Serviceability; Raidmax keeps its eye on NewEgg reviews and is not afraid to communicate with the customer. Design; I liked the look of the new PSU case with the blue LED fan and modular cables. Price; NewEgg prices are the bomb, but you have to keep your eye on things (kinda like the stock market). Rebate; it's always good to get something back, keeps customers interested.
Another quick NewEgg purchase; I had it in my hands in less than 24 hours. I installed it over the weekend, and it was not at all that difficult. My PC's mid-sized chassis mounts the PSU on the bottom, and even though there are vents below to allow airflow I mounted it "upside down (fan facing up)" to add to the interior lightshow. In addition to the native motherboard cables I only needed one of the SATA cables and the Molex cable, and all cables were able to reach their destinations with a bit of work.
She's purrin' in the CyberPower as I type this. Runs quieter than the OEM PSU, and the lightshow inside the PC is nice to look at. The CyberPower / Thermaltake MSI Commander chassis is cavernous, and I'm always amazed at the coolness of the airflow leaving the PC.
Even though it's early days I'm happy with my purchase. Fingers crossed for durability...
