4 out of 5 eggsDecent PSU

This review is from: RAIDMAX RX-735AP 735W ATX 12V v2.3/EPS 12V SLI Ready CrossFire Ready 80 PLUS BRONZE Certified Modular Power Supply

Pros: PSU hasn't blown up; good sign.
Very stable voltages.
Beautiful blue LED.
Cables come pre-sleeved.

Cons: You give us 4 molex/SATA modular ports on the PSU and only provide 3 cables to connect to them? Raidmax is such a tease. I could've benefited from an extra string of Molex connectors, but thankfully daisy-chaining 3 molex devices per connector hasn't damaged/overloaded the cables/PSU.

Other Thoughts: It's only been 2 months, so I don't know the longevity of this PSU's life, but it's showing no signs of slowing down. I'll definitely consider Raidmax when choosing my next high-watt/amp PSU.

5 out of 5 eggsVery Nice PSU

This review is from: RAIDMAX RX-735AP 735W ATX 12V v2.3/EPS 12V SLI Ready CrossFire Ready 80 PLUS BRONZE Certified Modular Power Supply

Pros: Man I was kinda nervous about this PSU. But I must say when I first got my hands on it I knew I had made the right choice. It is very well constructed. The individual cords make a less mess. It is 80 bronze so a little more efficient. But I am going for a blue theme and this was the only decent one I saw. But again this PSU is SOLID!!!! Very quiet and built nice.

Cons: None at all

Other Thoughts: Don't pass up on this PSU

5 out of 5 eggsRock Solid

This review is from: RAIDMAX RX-735AP 735W ATX 12V v2.3/EPS 12V SLI Ready CrossFire Ready 80 PLUS BRONZE Certified Modular Power Supply

Pros: Quiet, modular, LED fan

Cons: None so far

Other Thoughts: I've had this in a new build for a little over a year now; it has been a rock-solid performer, very quiet, and it looks great inside the case, with the black enclosure complemented by the blue LED fan.

3 out of 5 eggsIts making a weird noise

This review is from: RAIDMAX RX-735AP 735W ATX 12V v2.3/EPS 12V SLI Ready CrossFire Ready 80 PLUS BRONZE Certified Modular Power Supply

Pros: It works thats all I really have to say

Cons: It's making a 'Trickle' Sound and I don't think thats normal at all, I havent had it for that long at all, I've noticed that when I turn the computer it it boots up for about 0.50 seconds and then turns back off for about 4-5 Seconds then turns back on, and it seems to work but has me very worried, but that sound it makes is super disturbting

Other Thoughts: Pretty sad it didnt come with a 6th cable, only came with 5

1 out of 5 eggs60 day fail

This review is from: RAIDMAX RX-735AP 735W ATX 12V v2.3/EPS 12V SLI Ready CrossFire Ready 80 PLUS BRONZE Certified Modular Power Supply

Pros: cheap price not really a pro is it?

Cons: PSU failed in 60 days cannot recommend this one. Never supplied more than 11.9 volts. This has been the cause of a constant crashing problem with my A10.

Other Thoughts: Shipped with no paperwork as to warranty etc. Buyer beware.

Manufacturer Response:

Dear Customer,
This PSU does come with a 2 years warranty.
If you like to process a RMA/warranty claim, please send a email to rma@raidmax.com for faster respond/service.

2 out of 5 eggsGood for 3 months. No more.

This review is from: RAIDMAX RX-735AP 735W ATX 12V v2.3/EPS 12V SLI Ready CrossFire Ready 80 PLUS BRONZE Certified Modular Power Supply

Pros: The blue fan is now one of my computer fans. It looks insanely cool with the rest of my blue lighting.

Cons: It failed to power my PC after 3 months of usage. I am replacing it as every time I plugged it in, it blew the fuses to my entire basement. (tried doing things to remedy it but nothing worked)

Other Thoughts: If you only need it for a few months, buy it. If not, go elsewhere. This is my first experience with Raidmax products and I am afraid it will be my last due to the poor quality of the product.

Manufacturer Response:

Dear Customer,
This PSU does come with 2 years warranty.

This review is from: RAIDMAX RX-735AP 735W ATX 12V v2.3/EPS 12V SLI Ready CrossFire Ready 80 PLUS BRONZE Certified Modular Power Supply

Pros: Sleeved cables

Very good value.

Cons: None.

Other Thoughts: I got this PSU because it was the least expensive modular PSU to support 4 PCIe connectors.

1 out of 5 eggsWhelp GG

This review is from: RAIDMAX RX-735AP 735W ATX 12V v2.3/EPS 12V SLI Ready CrossFire Ready 80 PLUS BRONZE Certified Modular Power Supply

Pros: I couldn't tell you :(

Cons: Psu turned on and then shut off instantly to never turn on again. Had to go back to old 500w psu.

Other Thoughts: I bought this for my friend because his old 500w was starting to fail as in the hdd would stop receiving power randomly, should have been a seamless switch psu was well above what he needed to run his computer. But sadly I turned it on and instantly it just shut right off and would not power back up. I don't know how often raidmax psu's fail as I myself stick with cooler master but this was the most disappointing gift ever "here I got you a new psu happy birthday, oh did I mention it wont work" not mad just sad :(

Manufacturer Response:

5 out of 5 eggsSolid performance, nice price.

This review is from: RAIDMAX RX-735AP 735W ATX 12V v2.3/EPS 12V SLI Ready CrossFire Ready 80 PLUS BRONZE Certified Modular Power Supply

Pros: -Semi-modular design is very nice. Installed in my new Zalman Z11 Plus case and it made very clean cable management easy.

-This power supply is fairly silent, slightly quieter than most I've owned. The fan seems to do a good job keeping it cool and the blue led is a nice blue but not glaringly bright.

-Steady, solid power delivery. My 12+ rail doesn't droop like you frequently see on other cheap power supplies. I am currently using this psu running an fx 8350 OC@4.5ghz, ASUS M5A99fx mobo, 16gb g.skill 2133mhz ddr3 ram, Radeon R9 285 graphics card OC'd and 2 HDDs. No issues whatsoever.

-80 Plus Bronze is nice to see in this price range.

-Plenty of included cables

Cons: -As noted in other reviews, this power supply is rather long, about 6.5 inches. This is about an inch longer than most, so if you are building in a small case or in a case with a bottom mounted 120/140mm fan, measure and make sure you can afford the space. That being said, as long as you have the room like I do it's not really a con at all.

Other Thoughts: There are plenty of reviews out there outright crapping on any power supply that isn't made by a handful of big, trusted brands and doesn't cost at least $100. While there is merit in being cautious, the notion that EVERY budget brand is a garbage house-fire waiting to happen is nonsense. This is the 2nd Raidmax PSU I've owned and the 2nd that I am completely satisfied with and have had no issues at all. There is never a guarantee you won't have issues but I've gotten quality so far. I also bought a Raidmax Hurricane case for a super-budget build for a friend and am very impressed with the looks and quality I got for spending so little.

If you have the money to spend on a nice Corsair or Antec, then go for it and feel good about your purchase. If you're building on a tight budget, this is a solid choice to save some cash while still getting quality.
