The neon green design looks good and stands out...but it may not match anything in your case.

Pros: good thing it has a 2 year warranty. fit case very well.

Cons: only made it 10 months. and this pc was only used to surf the web, pay bills. facebook. and spider solitary. i have bought cheaper PS that lasted longer. very disappointed.

5 out of 5 eggsGreat PSU

This review is from: RAIDMAX Cobra RX-500AF-B 500W ATX 12V v2.3/EPS 12V SLI Ready CrossFire Ready 80 PLUS BRONZE Certified Power Supply

Pros: Low cost
Sleeved Cables
Feels sturdy
Plenty of Connectors
Nice look

Cons: Only one PCI-E power connector

Other Thoughts: This is a great low-cost psu for someone building their first PC. I like the graphics on the case of the psu but they will be hidden in my NZXT h440 case. It powers my GTX 660 with no problems whatsoever. I am using it with a AMD 8320 and a Biostar TA970 mobo. It easily provides enough power for my system and I would recomend it to a friend.

1 out of 5 eggsRX-500AF-B 500W

This review is from: RAIDMAX Cobra RX-500AF-B 500W ATX 12V v2.3/EPS 12V SLI Ready CrossFire Ready 80 PLUS BRONZE Certified Power Supply

Pros: It didn't explode when turning it on for the first time. Technically works. Extremely cheap with MIR. Quiet.

Cons: Not enough power connectors, low power (but expected). Not enough connectors for a single graphics card let alone two. Out of spec 12v rail. Very short cables.

Other Thoughts: This PSU (the 500W model) is falsely advertised as SLI capable. I did not intend to use this for that purpose however. Instead I wrongly assumed it would have enough connections for a single graphics card - the R9 280. I was mistaken. It does not even have enough for a single card let alone enough for some type of SLI rig. It has a single 6+2 pin PCIe connector. My old HD 4870 needs two 6 pin so it can't even connect to 6 year old cards without using adapters.

The color scheme isn't the best but I cannot see it anyway so it doesn't really matter too much. It is quiet even when under high load. The 12v rail on mine appears to be outputting at 11.2v idle and jumps to 11.6v under load.

I decided to give Raidmax my trust and it was misplaced to be sure. I just got the rebate and will be buying something better very soon. It was my fault for making assumptions about the PCIe connectors but the low quality of this unit is something I was warned about well before buying and I purchased anyway.

Don't make the same mistake I did and buy something better.

Manufacturer Response:

Dear Customer,
First we like to thank you for your review.
All the connectors should be in the specs, please check them before you purchase.
We do offer other PSU's with more cables, with similar wattage, similar prices.
If you have any other questions or concerns, please send a email to rma@raidmax.com for faster respond/service.
We appreciate you choosing Raidmax products.

1 out of 5 eggsgarbage

This review is from: RAIDMAX Cobra RX-500AF-B 500W ATX 12V v2.3/EPS 12V SLI Ready CrossFire Ready 80 PLUS BRONZE Certified Power Supply

Pros: it did its job but for only a limited time

Cons: ive owned this PSU for 4 months whn it decided to just shut down one day. I've contacted Raidmax and they would not take a refund or exchange for a new PSU. So knoing i couldn't get a new one i took it apart cause the warranty didn't matter anyway and there is absolutely nothing visibility wrong with it all the caps were good and nothing out of the ordinary.

Other Thoughts: i spent $50.00 on a 500 watt one. my advice is to save up a couple more dollars and get a corsair

Manufacturer Response:

Dear Customer,
This PSU you've purchased does come with a 2 years manufacture warranty.
If you have all the receipt or invoices, we should be able to exchange one for you without any problems.
Maybe there was a misunderstanding/mistake somewhere.
If you have any other questions or concerns, please send a email to rma@raidmax.com for faster respond/service.
We appreciate you choosing Raidmax products.

5 out of 5 eggsSolid PSU

This review is from: RAIDMAX Cobra RX-500AF-B 500W ATX 12V v2.3/EPS 12V SLI Ready CrossFire Ready 80 PLUS BRONZE Certified Power Supply

Pros: Works, plenty of cables, fan is extremely silent, powered my system without any hiccups.

FX 6300 3.5ghz
MSI 670 2gb PE
8gb 1600mhz
1tb HDD

Cons: Not enough power..? No real cons. If 500w is enough for your system, I would recommend this.

5 out of 5 eggsPretty good PSU

This review is from: RAIDMAX Cobra RX-500AF-B 500W ATX 12V v2.3/EPS 12V SLI Ready CrossFire Ready 80 PLUS BRONZE Certified Power Supply

Pros: Plenty of power for most builds.
Two 4-pin CPU power connectors
Plenty of SATA ports
Looks nice
Quiet

Cons: Would of really liked an LED

Read a review from a website about this cooler that suggested it was based on an older design and that it did not have complete and adequate protection, and said the efficiency was much lower than reported. However, I am not sure how serious to take the review, as it went on for a long period about how terrible they thought it looked, which I think it looks good and being unrelated to the performance so that made me question the review.

Other Thoughts: Like I said it may have some issues as read in another review. So far it is working fine. It is quiet, practically silent. I think the green colors on it look really good. I am not too worried about other issues, after the mail in rebate it comes down to $25 for me, making it a fairly cheap and replaceable power supply. If it goes well, then could be a good unit for a few years.
