5 out of 5 eggsPower for great price

This review is from: RAIDMAX Cobra RX-700AC-B Continuous 700 watts ATX12V / EPS12V SLI CrossFire 80 PLUS BRONZE Certified Power Supply

Pros: Bought on sale, 700 W for a great prace with mail in rebate and promo code. Silent but sturdy. Seems well made.

Cons: Is not a modular power supply. Makes cable management a pain.

Other Thoughts: Wish it was modular but i knew when i bought it what i was getting.

This review is from: RAIDMAX Cobra RX-700AC-B Continuous 700 watts ATX12V / EPS12V SLI CrossFire 80 PLUS BRONZE Certified Power Supply

Pros: None. Failed pre-install testing

Cons: Failed pre-install testing. Manufacturer failed to respond to first request for RMA sent on 8/19/2014. Phone number is answered by machine and endless menu of options. No call back.

Other Thoughts: What is the point of posting 3-year warranty, when the manufacturer will not respond. I thought Raidmax was a reputable company. I would recommend choosing another manufacturer for any power supply need.

5 out of 5 eggs

This review is from: RAIDMAX Cobra RX-700AC-B Continuous 700 watts ATX12V / EPS12V SLI CrossFire 80 PLUS BRONZE Certified Power Supply

Pros: Everything as advertised. Great wattage, beautiful big green fan and cobra artwork on each side, and nice black wire sleeves. Got it on sale for 50$ so it was an incredible deal. I'd probably still buy it while not on sale after seeing how well it works. Makes virtually no noise at all. I absolutely love the snake-like wires, felt like braiding Medusas hair while sorting them out. Found the cable with 2 sata and 1 molex on it and tucked the rest away, worked perfectly. The 4/8 pin even had a bit of extra length.

Cons: When I opened the box and took out the bubbled up plastic bit, I noticed one of the black ground wires was pulled out of the main 24pin plug, on the 4 pin half of it. Luckily it was the whole pin that was hanging out and not a severed wire, so I was able to just plug it back in no problem. It was the wire with the warning sticker on it, I imagine the sticker got caught and pulled it out or something. I hooked the psu up to my old garbage computer since I'd not gotten all the pieces to my new budget build yet. It worked just fine, the pin stayed in place and connected right. Popped it into my new build few days ago and there's been no problems at all so far, even very quiet, so I won't take an egg for the wire. Especially since it seems I'm the only one that's had the issue, rare fluke I guess but it worked out.

5 out of 5 eggsstrong power supply

This review is from: RAIDMAX Cobra RX-700AC-B Continuous 700 watts ATX12V / EPS12V SLI CrossFire 80 PLUS BRONZE Certified Power Supply

Pros: good cables with outer heat shielding. strong power supply.

Cons: the 16-pin main board connector fit a little more snug, and had to apply more pressure to the motherboard/terminal than i would have liked. use caution.

4 out of 5 eggsAlmost Perfect

This review is from: RAIDMAX Cobra RX-700AC-B Continuous 700 watts ATX12V / EPS12V SLI CrossFire 80 PLUS BRONZE Certified Power Supply

Pros: Good value, works, cables are good length - thanks. I love NewEgg!

Cons: Advertised as ""6 x 5-Pin SATA Connector", but that isw not waht I got. This RX-700 only has 5. I had to do some splicing to get things to work.

Other Thoughts: This replaced a 5-year old RX-400AF (also purchased from NewEgg), which had a 12v rail fail a few days ago. I needed 6 SATA power cords, the replacement came up 1 connector short..

1 out of 5 eggsPop-Crackle-Smoke-Melt.

This review is from: RAIDMAX Cobra RX-700AC-B Continuous 700 watts ATX12V / EPS12V SLI CrossFire 80 PLUS BRONZE Certified Power Supply

Pros: Inexpensive, Nice look to the unit. Newegg has a 30 day return policy but, their tech got me the number for Raidmax so that I could pursue resolution through the manufacturer warranty.

Cons: I bought this PSU in March, Received it in April. Didn't get around to the build start until today (Aug 11th). Put the PSU Tester to work on the pre-installation test of the PSU. 24-pin lit all LED's except the -5v. The 4-pin HDD connector tested fine. The 8-pin connector wires started popping, crackled, started to smoke and melted the braiding around the wires. Glad I didn't install it without testing.

Other Thoughts: After hours call to the Manufacturer number resulted in recording asking me to leave a message and expect a return call. Unfortunately, the message box was full and sent me to the operator, who sent me to the message box, who sent me to the operator, who sent me to the message box, who sent me to the operator, at which time I hung up. Then went to the manufacturer website where no contact options exist. I then started looking for a different power supply manufacturer. I will give the number one more try during regular business hours, but at this point, it would take a lot to convince me to purchase any Raidmax product.

Manufacturer Response:

2 out of 5 eggs

This review is from: RAIDMAX Cobra RX-700AC-B Continuous 700 watts ATX12V / EPS12V SLI CrossFire 80 PLUS BRONZE Certified Power Supply

Pros: Item looked like a good deal price was right with the rebate that is and it was from a brand i know and somewhat trust now. But at least it has a great tech team behind them.

Cons: Fan noise, it makes odd sounds like a bearing is already off balance at time's like its already getting ready to kick the bucket with not even that much use on it.

Other Thoughts: would be better if it had LED's for the price of the power supply, would look great with a green glow

Manufacturer Response:

Dear Customer,
First we like to thank you for your review.
We have heard your response and forwarded over to our production team in our manufacture factory overseas.
We will continue to work on lowering the dBA noise level of the fan and try to make it quiet as possible.
If you have any other questions or concerns, please send a email to rma@raidmax.com for faster respond/service.
We appreciate you choosing Raidmax products.

4 out of 5 eggsPerfect

This review is from: RAIDMAX Cobra RX-700AC-B Continuous 700 watts ATX12V / EPS12V SLI CrossFire 80 PLUS BRONZE Certified Power Supply

Pros: Love it! My whole PC was going to be red and it is a gaming PC. This thing has more than enough power! I love the color of it as well! People notice it and ask where I got it so they can get one! The wires are a little short to control wire managment but no biggy! Wires are wrapped in protective mesh as well!

Cons: Wires are a tad short
