it should be compatible with almost any thing. if not i would look into a modular one form say EVGA or look at one from Thermaltakes website to match the pins, power, and price.

is the 500w model same size as the 430w and will it replace the 430 w power supply?

Absolutely it will replace the 430w without issue.  You won't really notice any difference in either model.

Question 3

Will the Termaltake TR2 W007 430W install into 2009 Dell 435MT Studio XPS tower?  The Fan  is on the top (will likely face either the inside the case or against a side) but the original fan is facing outward with the on/off and plug.  How do you install it so there is good airflow?  Is the a Dell PSU wiring schematics and details to match the Termaltake wires to correctly plug into the correct sockets.

Yes you can fit it facing down. The screwholes will allow for reversal.
Dell quit using none standard wiring scheme yrs ago so an off the shelf PSU will work fine in a 2009

The power on my XPS 420 was replaced by a repair shop several years with a TR2W0070 it needs replacing again so, I thought I would go like for like however there are 2 spec differences and I do not know how important the differences are.
The current model above shows the following output and output currents +3.3V@22A, +5V@30A, +12V1@18A, +12V2@17A, -12V@0.3A, +5VSB@3A  the PSU I have just removed from my PC shows the following +3.3V@22A, +5V@18A, +12V1@18A, +12V2@17A, -12V@0.3A, +5VSB@2.5A please could someone advise me on this?

It would seem to me that the older one is better.  Thermaltake has always been a good product.  If they are both 430w the rest probably isn't of the greatest importance.  However, when it comes to performance you would want the most power you can afford.

Can I use this PSU with graphic card GTX 750 Ti ?

yes they way overestimate how many watts you need for a card.The stated needed watts a card give includes what they assume you might be using all together.The 750 doesn't even need a separate power,just the pci-e slot.That alone tells you it doesn't take much power.The 750ti and this psu are a good match if you don't have 4-5 hard drives,pci slots full of stuff etc.

Could this replace my SolyTech ATX 400W Switching Power Supply and be able to support a GTX 960 graphics card?

No. It does not have an 8 pin PCI-e power connector on it, which the graphics card you want to use requires for power. Your best bet would be to go to the 500 watt version for just a mere $7 more in price (49.99 instead of $42.99). You get the required power connector for the video card, as well as a bit of breathing room for the system. Not much of an increase, but a slight one. Thermaltake makes a solid product, and I recommend them to everyone wanting a custom built system for quality and reliability. I use them in my own personal systems, and have had no issues at all with any of them.

Bypass the 430 watt version and go for a higher capacity. You'll be glad you did.

Will this support a GTX 980 card?

The GTX980 peaks at 165w. The specs page on GeForce recommends minimum PSU rating of 500w.

A note from experience. If you're building a system, buy a power supply that will only run maximum 75% capacity for your build.

If your build requires 500w for instance, get a 650w or 700w so the PSU can handle it without maxing out. It will last a lot longer.

My old power supply died. It ran for 8 years non stop.
Question is my mobo has a 20 pin on the motherborad. Will this work for me. The hard drives are Molex. I need a power supply now - is this the one ?

Yes, this will work fine. The extra four pins on the ATX connection are optional.
