The Thermaltake Toughpower 1000W W0132RU is a high-end power supply unit ideal for advanced users who demand greater cooling and higher power for their systems. The Active Power Factor Corrector (Active PFC) helps it deliver a stable 1000 Watts of continuous output (in 50? operating environment) with up to 87% efficiency. Four independent and dedicated +12V rails (12V1, 12V2, 12V3, 12V4) enhance power distribution and provide superior performance for your PC.

The Toughpower W0132RU is compatible with dual core CPU, quad core CPU, NVIDIA SLI, Quad SLI and ATI CrossFire technologies, with three 6-pin and three 8-pin (downward compatible with 6-pin PCI-E connectors) PCI-E connectors that allow connectivity to multiple graphic cards. The efficient Modularized Cable Management system eliminates wire clutter and enhances airflow for cooling. The 14 cm ball-bearing fan that reduces hot spots, offers excellent, quiet cooling.

In addition, the Toughpower W0132RU uses industrial grade components with Independent Voltage Circuits for stable and unflappable output, and protection against potential voltage surges. Burnt electronic smell is very distinct! Cons: Worked for under a year. When it died, it sent a strong surge that killed 2 hard drives, drive backplane, raid controller, and a fan; then it decided to catch on fire. Thermaltake wouldn't replace, service, or even discount on another unit. I offered it up to them so they could understand why it occurred and prevent it in future products. They didn't want it and could careless that it killed as much hardware as it did. I will never buy another one of their products! Other Thoughts: I purchased CORSAIR HX Series CMPSU-1000HX and LOVE IT! It is even more quite. Never one problem or hangup. Works like none I've ever owned. I also own a 600W and like a 400 W,,, I sold those and those people on E-Auction site are still happy. That's after I rode them long and hard for what it's worth. Cons: pricey, but I'll get over that. Other Thoughts: As it is pricey, it is worth the money. those getting bad ones, sorry. I find this to be an absolute necessity to my rendering workstation. Due to its modular design, the only have the cords int the case are the ones that are being used. Hooked up a ATI FireGL 8600 without any problems. Some of the criticisms of the other reviews I would consider minor. - The silicone gasket was easy to install. - The restarting function pauses the power supply for about 5-10 seconds in the power off state before delivering power again to the motherboard. A simple velcro pouch is provided to keep all you cables that you do not use, so you can find them if you need them at a later time. Cons: None Did you find this review helpful? Problem SB voltage issue didn't occur withthis PSU since it's resistance to large drops in voltage from the intial draw. Cons: All Black connetion in the future? Maybe? Other than that, none Other Thoughts: If you upgrading from another PSU. May as well set you bios to default ans start from scratch. The Voltages of you old unit will be elevated when you try to power up with the old values set in bios So, if you on the bead, on power setting. Pros: It does exactly what I need it to do; provide power where it is needed and cables can be left in box if not needed as this is a modular system! No Failures or any signs of inferiority. I think this is King for it's power Watt Level. Especially the company it's being produced by. I keep mine running almost all the time and often run all the elements of my machine, which I won't give details,,,under full strain and load and it doesn't even flinch! Cons: None Other Thoughts: it is quite unfortunate that some have experienced the stories I've read; I understand that we received products that are DOA or don't last long. I've been there. This is an absolutely Rock Solid product if you get a good one ,,,, so don't get a bad attitude if it arrives and provides a few problems. Life is not perfect. Neither are any items created in life. Electronics especially. So roll with the flow and take care of business, do what you need to do to get the job done,,,,,eventually, you'll receive the product I'm describing. Good thing this has a 5 year warranty, you are going to need it!! Cons: Only last 5-6 months under 2-way sli using 280 gtx's. Starts out as wont power up after a shut down. Powers up a split second then down again. Let sit for a while then works fine. When it fails, it fails completely. What a bunch of **** 300 plus dollars for a "quality" power supply and this is what you get? Thermaltake KNOWS about this issue, yet they continue to sell this to people!! Other Thoughts: Do NOT buy this power supply unless you like sending your psu in for rma repair every 6 months!!
