Bring your system to life with the Thermaltake TR2 W0176RU power supply. It complies with ATX 12V v.2.2 and EPS 12V v2.91 standards. It also works with the latest SLI or CrossFireX system and multi-core CPU configurations, and is ready to deliver 1000 watts of power where you want it – safely and reliably.
Active PFC (power form correction) maximizes power efficiency saving energy – and money on the power bill. Industrial-grade protections built into the power supply include defenses against over current, short-circuit, over voltage and no-load operating.
The +12V output circuit provides stable voltage to your system, including multiple PCI Express expansion cards. All cables are sleeved in black nylon mesh for a clean look. A large, whisper-quiet 12cm ball bearing cooling fan keeps the power supply cool and operating at peak performance.

Another epic fail PS from Newegg
- Pros: Cheaper than most 1000W PS's and it's a thermaltake, just glad newegg knows their PS's are horrible and offer a 1 year replacement on them
- Cons: Died within a few days of barely using my computer at all, the 2nd one they sent me died within about the same time, hopefully the third one that arrives 2 days from now will actually work, also there are way too many cables on this PS which some people may need, but I have an insanely good computer and probably only use 1/4 of them
- Other Thoughts: Have had 4 PS's burn out on me from a week to 2 months within the past year from newegg, the thermaltake I bought from a retail store 5 years ago on my second and third PC still work and have never had any problems, so I don't know if they are selling refurbished items or not, just glad they will send me a replacement with next day air shipping, never had any other thing from newegg fail on me ever, only their power supplies, but they do have a wonderful one year replacement plan so i'm grateful for that, and they gave me next day air shipping for free
Clean Power, Messy Cabling
- Pros: Good, clean power sufficient for even my dual GTX295 SLI setup.
- Cons: Cabling is a mess - all the cables are static, and there are far more of them than you'll ever use. To keep good airflow in my case I had to strap all the extra cables into 3 of the 5.25" bays.
- Other Thoughts: Cabling is excessive - will not fit in a smaller case as a result.
Good power, should be modular
- Pros: Provides plenty of power for my i7, 6GB DDR3 1600 RAM, a 1TB 7200RPM HDD, and a GTX 295.
Small form factor behind a lot of power. Fits more cases than most 1000W PSUs
- Cons: I made the mistake of ordering this without first making sure it was modular. However, I had assumed that the industry (particularly in the high end PSU market) had moved past static cabling and would have become mostly modularized now. I hate fixed cables and this was somewhat of a pain to get it setup right. High powered PSUs should be modular.
