5 out of 5 eggsAwesome Enclousure

Pros: This external drive enclosure is a awesome buy for what I wanted with it. I used it with my old internal hard drive that I swapped out with a WD 1tb drive.

Cons: The light needs to be brighter as well as an indication that it is plugged in other than the indication on the back of the enclosure.

Other Thoughts: Have a pouch to carry the drive in was a added addition and nice.

2 out of 5 eggsPower issues

Pros: Solid enclosure, all the cables. It was inexpensive.

Cons: Will not work with a WDC drive without TWO USB connections. Tried to use it as NAS, on my LINKSYS 4200. Since it needs two USB connections and the Linksys has only one, it wont work. The included case is nice but should have storage for the cables.

Other Thoughts: Mine was not as pictured. It has a DC-in port and a USB to DC-in cable.

1 out of 5 eggsYou Should Know

Pros: Seems well built, looks nice and very - very slim. Comes appropriately with a Y-cable and screwdriver.

Cons: Well lets see, it did fit my 2.5" SATA WD Scorpion Blue 1TB HDD. Yep, that's a big CON. The question is; will it fit yours?

Other Thoughts: I've used Thermaltake previously for cooling my Laptop and for parts inside my desktop and have had no issues or failures so far. I would even go as far and say "I like Thermaltakes products," but this is a big surprise.

Manufacturer Response:

Dear Customer,
The height of this 2.5" drive is the main issue, 12.5mm height. Most of 2.5" HDD external enclosure only handle up to 9.5mm in height. This HDD may not be compatible with all notebook systems due to the height of drive.
Best Regards,

1 out of 5 eggsPiece of Junk

Pros: Case looks nice. comes with a USB Y-Cable, a USB Power Cable, a a useful Phillips screw driver.

Cons: DEAD, DOA. Will not detect any Drive I try to use with it.
All my drives work fine in another external enclosure.
I have always liked Thermaltake's Power Supplies, and have never had any issues with them. I figured, based on the reviews I would give this a try.

Other Thoughts: I will not give Thermaltake another shot on external enclosures.

Manufacturer Response:

Hi dcarr,
We at Thermaltake apologize for the inconvenience this may have caused you. Please contact ttsupport@thermaltakeusa.com for warranty instruction.
Best regards,

5 out of 5 eggs

Pros: Works as advertised.

Cons: None

Other Thoughts: The USB cable that it came with has one female side and two male sides. I figured it was so it could grab more power from the PC... but it worked just the same with a normal USB cable.

Includes a pouch but no pocket to put the cable.

Cons: USB chassis connector not very snug.
Cable has a tendency to get loose.

Other Thoughts: Used with a WD Scorpio Blue 250gig.

3 out of 5 eggsBeware

Pros: The electronics work.

Cons: A Fujitsu MHX2250BT drive which (according to specs) is 12.5 mm high will not fit in this enclosure. It is too high. I have to operate it out of the enclosure. Dumb Dumb Dumb

Other Thoughts: Not worth returning.
