Cons: - Expensive, but you get what you pay for. Power supply is one thing I won't skimp on.
- The CPU Power connector also has a PCIe 8-Pin connector that branches off from it, which in any normal situation would have been very cool to cut down on the amount of cables, but they literally made the wire length between the CPU connector and the PCIe connector about 5 inches, rendering it COMPLETELY USELESS. I know of not a single motherboard/video card setup out there that has those two connectors that close to each other. What were you thinking Thermaltake?

Normally I wouldn't dock an egg over something so stupid but I feel that doing such a thing is so incredulous that it deserves a docked egg.

Other Thoughts: My old build (4 and a half years old) is running a Toughpower 650W PSU, and still going strong. PC was on almost 24/7 and was not used lightly (lots of load on the graphics card and processor, and was powering 7 120mm fans and 4 7200RPM HD's). This is what made me buy another Toughpower. Yes, I paid almost twice as much as an equivalently rated power supply by another brand, but it was worth every penny if this thing performs anything like my 650W one does.

Pros: this power supply worked great for the 1year and 7 so months that i had it. didnt give me any problems.

Cons: died before the 2 year mark which doesnt make this psu tough at all. when the psu went out i think it took my vid card, mobo, and memory with it because none of those components are working correctly anymore.

Other Thoughts: like i said in the title...its only good when its good but when it went bad it took several other components with it when it fried.

Pros: Very powerful power supply providing more than enough power for my computer.

Pros: When I first opened the box and hooked this sucker up it made a hissing noise for almost a day like other people said it would. BUT THIS IS COMMON AND OK FOR A NEW PSU. I left my PC on for a full 2 days because I was at work doing a crazy shift and away from the house. When i came back, the noise was gone. Ran great Day 1, ran great Day 3, runs great now.

Well priced, small, modular, efficient, good rating, and most important: Reliable.
Thermaltake doesn't get enough credit by major review sites and PC Hardware Review enthusiasts and sites.
I've been using TT PSUs for almost a decade and they've never ever ever let me down and continue to impress me.
My last 700W non-modular 4x12V rail (which many say is a no-no) TT PSU lasted me 5 years untill I decided to build a new PC. I still use the old PC and that PSU still runs great.
It's been almost 6 months with this one, and it runs great!

Cons: The bottom line is this: If a PSU makes a hissing noise and it's 5-6 years old then it's telling you it's about to die.

If a PSU makes a hissing noise and it's less than a week old, it's telling you it's breaking in it's new shoes.

As you can see, the power supply has a lot running off of it. 2 High-end graphics cards, 3 drives albeit one is SSD they are low power, many fans, and a socket 1366 i7 @ 3.02 Ghz which i regularly over clock to almost 4 Ghz.
It all runs without a hitch, thanks to this PSU.

Pros: Works very well and holds the voltages steady.

Cons: Being extremely picky in saying the fan makes funny noises as it comes to a final stop after system shut down.

Pros: Modular design. Large fan.

Cons: I am somewhat skeptical about reviews sometimes, especially some of the negative ones. However, I now have my own negative review to post. Purchased this item on August 23, 2010. Worked great----until yesterday when I turned my computer on and after about 3 minutes, the computer shut off and I smelled burned electrical components. The computer would not start up although the power lights on the MB were still on. I swapped out the power supply for my old Corsair 450VX and it fired right up. What gets me is it failed exactly one week after the 30 days were up for returns to Newegg. Now I have to RMA it to Thermaltake. I'll be down for at least a couple of weeks.

Pros: Good price with combo and rebate. Great reviews on this new model design and features.

Cons: First one worked for 1 hour then died. The replacement is working now 24 hours and seems to be ok.

Other Thoughts: I have the 775w version which worked fine out of the box but the 875w version did die after 1 hour. luckly no other parts of my computer died with it.
I took off 1 egg for the first dead PSU.

Pros: Lots of cables.

Cons: When I bought it there was a rebate offered. Nobody bothered to mention that Thermaltake makes you submit them 20 days after PURCHASE instead of the usual standard 30 days. This nice little trick I'm sure pays them well to employ. I generally have liked NewEgg but they wouldn't do anything. While clearly not THEIR policy it is their website and they promote the item with the price AFTER rebate. Maybe they should put in big letters, "REMEMBER FOLKS THERMALTAKE WILL TRY TO TRICK/CHEAT YOU ON THE REBATE BY NOT FOLLOWING STANDARD TIME FRAMES SO SEND IT IN IMMEDIATELY."

Pros: As always, this is a Thermaltake PSU, so it's of great quality. This is from their Toughpower XT line, which is one of their highest quality model brands. The price is right, of course. $184.99 currently. 875 W is a perfect amount of headroom for SLI/Crossfire setups. Also this is modular which is fantastic. It has ample Amperage, 72 amps on the main 12v rail. There's only one 12V rail so you don't have to worry about power balancing when you do multiple GPU setups. 4 PCI-E connectors (2 6 pins and 2 6+2 pins). The size of the PSU is surprisingly small given its power output, most likely because it has only a single 12V rail. Truly designed to be installed in the top of a case, but can infact be installed at the bottom of a case, it would be wise to make sure the bottom install case has an exhaust fan right under the PSU though, check out the Thermaltake Spedo.

Cons: This has nothing to do with Thermaltake, but in fact the overall design of the PSU which every manufacturer used on many of their PSUs. I don't like single 12V rails. Sure, it's simpler because you don't have to balance power hungry hardware over multiple lines, but in a design scheme, it's still a lot of power to trail down one rail. All that stress on a single rail, which is one point of success or failure, can degrade your efficiency over time. So though this unit is very power efficient now, it MAY degrade after 3 or 4 years. All PSUs do indeed degrade, but I have a 700 W TT Toughpower PSU with 4 rails, still running at 90% efficiency and output. Same as day one believe it or not. Also, modular cables sound great, but be careful, as any time of cord damage or stray material in the input socket (dust, etc) WILL cause problems. Keep your input sockets clean and dust them regularly. Just power down the PSU, unplug, clean, and hook it all back up.

Other Thoughts: Fantastic Wattage/Amperage headroom, and because of its efficiency you can easily run a system with Dual HD 5870s, a core i7 1366, Multiple HD/SSD, fans, coolers, LED lights, etc.

The highest estimates of power consumption by today's highend products will still have breathing room in this baby. 130 W for i7, and 550 W used by 2 HD 5870s will be your biggest power munchers and you still will have 200 W left over which is perfect. After the rest of you gear is in, you'll be floating around 750/800 W. These are all very high end estimates, your likely to be using 650 Watts. So you have room to Overclock if you wish. The bronze Certification means this is "power efficient". This is a gimmick. It means it's good for the environment, like an energy star rating on a TV. Even w/o that certification I guarantee you this unit will have quite some longevity regardless. Don't go buying "GOLD" certifications thinking you'll get more out of the unit, it's not true. You'' be fine with this.

Pros: Has pretty lights

Cons: Bought this power supply with a combo deal and when I went to install it, it powered up for 2 minutes then completely died. Doing an RMA now hoping that the second one they send me works longer than the 1st one.

Other Thoughts: Heard of people getting DOAs, and it looks like I got one. If you're considering getting this power supply, might want to look at ones that users aren't saying come DOA otherwise you might be out $10 shipping.
