5 out of 5 eggsGreat Fully modular PSU

Pros: Great number of connections. I also picked it up for $150 from a competitor. Thing takes a power load from an I7-920/EVGA classified X58/GTX680 system with room to spare.

Cons: I tried to fit Bitfenix and NZXT red/black extension cables and the connectors on the 8 pin only cables will not let me put them on. I tried to see if I just needed to shave a little plastic off but nothing would work. Its a shame really.

Other Thoughts: For a fully modular PSU, this thing is a total beast. Beats the RM series from Corsair with out a doubt.

5 out of 5 eggsMore Power

Pros: Very impressive packaging. Comes with a nice bag to store the modular wires that are not used. Power unit looks great.Easy install with supplied hardware. Very quiet and has rubber gaskets for reduced vibration noise. Large fan which moves maximum air through the case. The modular wires are well made and everything fit together with supplied hardware. SLI ready with four drive raid powered audio on a quad I7 not to mention several external drives and usb devices are no problem at all. Machine almost seems faster and clearer!

Cons: SLI cables have a noise suppressor piece in line near the video plug which keeps the wires from bending near the card. This was a small issue with clearance of the Nvidia 560TI cards and the hard drive cage. It was tight but did work.

Other Thoughts: I have used and installed many higher end power supplies but this one really is impressive. Highly recommended.

5 out of 5 eggsDoes what it's supposed to do

Pros: It's an 850w PSU that is part modular. Does exactly what I wanted it to do which was....power my computer. Hard to write a review for a product that doesn't really work outside of it's intended capacity.

Cables were not "stiff" like some reviews stated. They were PSU cables, and I got what I expected. First modular (or partly) PSU, and not having as many cables has opened up airflow in my case. Temps dropped about 2c.

It powers a Fx8350, 2x Radeon 7850, 4x Internal HDD and 1x SSD, 1x BluRay Drive, 4 case fans, multiple USB ports. Haven't had a single problem since. Handled OCing just fine, although not much of a PSU expectancy.

Great PSU if you have similar components to mine. I expected to need more, but nope!

Cons: I did my research, and as far as PSUs go, I wanted an XFire Certified fully modular PSU. I read so many horrible reviews, and was deterred from them. This was the one with the best reviews, and was at least partly modular. Wish this were fully modular, but that's not ThermalTake's fault. an 850w PSU with good reviews and is fully modular would have been my first choice. No reason to ding an egg for it.

Other Thoughts: I like to have toast in the morning.

5 out of 5 eggsExcellent so far.

Pros: I have to say that this is probably the highest quality power supply that I've ever purchased. It couldn't have been packaged any better in my opinion. I replaced my 650W Corsair with this model and I have no regrets. No installation issues and all cables are clearly marked along with the connections on the power supply itself. Very easy install and computer powered up with zero issues.

Cons: Had to use a magnifying glass when reading the manual but my eyesight is going.

Other Thoughts: I haven't had this power supply for too long and if something does happen I will edit my post, however, I am very satisfied so far.

3 out of 5 eggsNice PSU

Pros: Great packaging. Sleek design. Sturdy cords and connectors.

Cons: Lack of troubleshooting steps. Lack of instructions on MB power connectors

Other Thoughts: I have the ASUS M5A99X EVO R2.0 MB and my computer tuns on, POST for 3-5 seconds and then shuts off.

I've checked the MB mounting screws, and all of them are within the white circle, nothing is between the MB and the mounting plate. (Checks for shorts) ... All connectors are firmly connected to MB, GPU and drives. I've even plugged into different outlets and plugs of outlets with exactly the same result.

850W should be plenty of power for my system. IS this a PSU or MB issue?

5 out of 5 eggsPerfect!

Pros: 850W!
80 plus gold, like c'mon!
Nice red stripe to match my scheme
Fan delay on powerdown is a nice feature
I finally have it!!

Cons: Well now that I think about it (and it, in a way, could be a con) the 8-pin eps cable just barely got to its socket on my mobo. But I can understand why seeing as how I have the CM HAF X 942. Right, I know!

Other Thoughts: A very well bult psu with a lot of nice touches that make you appreciate it even more. EPS cable might be a concern if you go with a big case, so keep that in mind.

5 out of 5 eggsWOW...doesn't that say it all?

Pros: This is my first Thermaltake PSU and I think they have won a new loyal customer. I was very impressed with the packaging and, like another reviewer, I was in awe when I saw how huge and how heavy it was. I had no issues with the length of the cords and, even though I didn't use it, the included extension cable for the 8-pin, EATX 12 v connector cable was a nice touch. I wanted the best modular/semi-modular PSU for my latest build and I did a lot of research before settling on this one. I've had my new build up and running for almost a month now with no issues whatsoever. I clearly made the right choice in my selection. Thank you Thermaltake for the superior products and thank you Newegg for giving us such a wide selection of products to meet our individual wants/needs!! Checkout my Other Thoughts and take a look at the Thermaltake Chaser MK-I won't be disappointed!

Cons: None, zero, zilch
