5 out of 5 eggs5+ years and going strong

This review is from: Thermaltake Toughpower Grand TPG-1050M 1050W ATX 12V v2.3 & SSI EPS 12V v2.92 SLI Certified CrossFire Certified 80 PLUS GOLD Certified Active PFC WEEE RoHS ENERGY STAR 80 Plus Gold ATX12V & EPS12V Power Supply Power Supply

Pros: -built to last
-quite
-beefy cables in a huge variety

Cons: Pricey, but you get what u pay for

Other Thoughts: I've just completed my 3rd build since mid 2010 with this PSU. It's done everything including running my Bitcoin miners for a couple of years.

What I love about this PSU is it attains a gold rating without any bells and whistles. They simply use high quality parts, thick copper, and efficient design. A good PSU will pay for itself. Tons of hardware (Mobo, GPU, Etc.) failure is due to poor quality power supply with inconsistent DC delivery under variable load. Since I've owned this I've never had one other device fail in over 5 years. Over any other piece of hardware in your box, a quality PSU is the best investment IMO. It's easy to get caught up in the numbers, however once you feel the heavy weight, and solid quality of construction, you'll know you made the right decision. I fully endorse this PSU. 5 eggs all day long.

1 out of 5 eggsThermaltake Toughpower Grand TPG-1050M 1050W ATX

This review is from: Thermaltake Toughpower Grand TPG-1050M 1050W ATX 12V v2.3 & SSI EPS 12V v2.92 SLI Certified CrossFire Certified 80 PLUS GOLD Certified Active PFC WEEE RoHS ENERGY STAR 80 Plus Gold ATX12V & EPS12V Power Supply Power Supply

Pros: This would be decent in modular versions which I believe is now offered by Thermaltake...but not dependable considering the price tag...

Cons: Had to RMA twice now first one failed out of the box and now 2 years later...the things is humming under a videogame load. This should not happen especially considering how new it still is and pricepoint. I will not buy another one of their power supplies I will try Corsair or another manufacturer.

5 out of 5 eggsAs Promised

This review is from: Thermaltake Toughpower Grand TPG-1050M 1050W ATX 12V v2.3 & SSI EPS 12V v2.92 SLI Certified CrossFire Certified 80 PLUS GOLD Certified Active PFC WEEE RoHS ENERGY STAR 80 Plus Gold ATX12V & EPS12V Power Supply Power Supply

Pros: Runs cool
Very Modular (cables to spare!)
Fits perfectly in my Mid-size case (coolmaster)

Cons: Not applicable

Other Thoughts: Upgraded from a 675 PSU to 1050 PSU. My computer now has enough power for all my USB needs, as well as my new graphics card. I have power to spare.

5 out of 5 eggsAs Promised

This review is from: Thermaltake Toughpower Grand TPG-1050M 1050W ATX 12V v2.3 & SSI EPS 12V v2.92 SLI Certified CrossFire Certified 80 PLUS GOLD Certified Active PFC WEEE RoHS ENERGY STAR 80 Plus Gold ATX12V & EPS12V Power Supply Power Supply

Pros: Easy install. More modular connections than you can shake a stick at!

Cons: None

Other Thoughts: When the power supply powers down, you will still hear the fan a few seconds after you have shutdown your PC. I wasn't expecting that, however, a minor thing to note.

5 out of 5 eggsRock Solid

This review is from: Thermaltake Toughpower Grand TPG-1050M 1050W ATX 12V v2.3 & SSI EPS 12V v2.92 SLI Certified CrossFire Certified 80 PLUS GOLD Certified Active PFC WEEE RoHS ENERGY STAR 80 Plus Gold ATX12V & EPS12V Power Supply Power Supply

Pros: Tons of modular connections. Plenty of power for a big gaming or video editing rig.

Cons: None.

Other Thoughts: I ended up getting this PSU as a replacement for a Rosewill unit that died in just under a year of use. I couldn't be happier with this unit. It has held up well in 3 years, so far, of very heavy use. It currently powers an ASRock LGA1155 mobo with an i7 3770K overclocked to 4.8 Ghz, a Corsair H100i CPU cooler, twin GTX970 video cards, 32 Gigs of G.Skill 2400 Mhz RAM, a Samsung SSD, 2 Seagate drives, 5 WD drives, a BluRay drive and 7 case fans. Sounds crazy, I know, but this PSU is a workhorse and it keeps all of my system components very happy. I love the modular flexibility as well. It allows me to power what I need without having extra unused cables to deal with in the case. Bottom line, this is a rock solid unit with plenty of power and flexibility for any build you have in mind.

5 out of 5 eggsA+

This review is from: Thermaltake Toughpower Grand TPG-1050M 1050W ATX 12V v2.3 & SSI EPS 12V v2.92 SLI Certified CrossFire Certified 80 PLUS GOLD Certified Active PFC WEEE RoHS ENERGY STAR 80 Plus Gold ATX12V & EPS12V Power Supply Power Supply

Pros: Powerful & quiet. What else does it need?

Cables are standard for quality PSU's. Plug in what you need only & mesh cables for nice management.

Cons: Can't think of any?

Pros: Modular, nice design, works well, quiet.

Cons: Need to use included screws in order to mount in case (standard case screws too short) which is not immediately apparent without looking through all included cable packaging.

5 out of 5 eggsWill Never Need to Upgrade

This review is from: Thermaltake Toughpower Grand TPG-1050M 1050W ATX 12V v2.3 & SSI EPS 12V v2.92 SLI Certified CrossFire Certified 80 PLUS GOLD Certified Active PFC WEEE RoHS ENERGY STAR 80 Plus Gold ATX12V & EPS12V Power Supply Power Supply

Pros: Awesome PSU. Can power anything. No complaints. Easy to install. It sees daily, constant use, and has never caused me any problems at all. I love that it is modular. This was the first modular PSU I have ever worked with and now I will never buy a non-modular PSU again. Comes with a sturdy bag to store the unused power cables.

Cons: Pricey for a PSU, but worth it when you need the best.

Other Thoughts: The build it powers:
