2 out of 5 eggsFail

Pros: When it works its OK, i bought 6 of these for my busniess.

Cons: Drops off the computer on a regular basis, USB 3.0 transfers take longer (sometimes) than USB 2.0. The files that are on the drive are not always accessible just the file name. I would not recommend this product if your in a business environment!

Other Thoughts: I bought the e-sata version of this dock and it works perfectly, i took a chance with USB 3.0 but its just not there yet.

Manufacturer Response:

Hi Helios,
We at Thermaltake apologize for the inconvenience this may have caused you. Please contact our customer service team about dropping and transferring speed issues.

5 out of 5 eggsworks as advertised

Pros: USB 3.0 speed, easy to insert and remove drives, reliable

Cons: none so far

Other Thoughts: I use this several times per week usually for recovering data from failed hard drives for my customers. I don't have anything negative to say at all about this. I would definitely buy this again if needed.

5 out of 5 eggsfantastic product

Pros: I've had this product for over a year now, and use it with a 1.5TB WD 7200 6Gb HD, and occasionally with other drives. High build quality, and speedy. Said to be hot-swappable, but I always play the safe card and eject/turn-off before removing, because why not?

Cons: none really.

Other Thoughts: I would recomend this to anyone

1 out of 5 eggsDon't buy find another solution

Pros: Nice appearance and good drive fit

Cons: USB 3 disconnects constantly and will in many cases not show the drive attached at all. I have tried 11 drives of varied capacity and and Sata configs. No joy. I have found pugging in to a USB 2 connection you have a 50/50 shot at it working for a moderate time with no disconnect. I have tried this device on 3 different ASUS mother boards with USB 3 as well as one laptop with USB 3. All had the same failures and disconnects.

Other Thoughts: Move on find another option from another MFG.

Manufacturer Response:

Hi Halogen,
We at Thermaltake apologize for the inconvenience this may have caused you. We will replace it through warranty service. Please contact our customer service team for RMA instructions.

1 out of 5 eggs***JUNK***

Pros: NONE

Cons: Disconects all the time. In the middle of drive cloning, while moving files, or just sitting there doing nothing. Contacted Thermaltake, said it was my Rosewill USB 3.0 card, bull every other USB 3.0 device I have works great with the card. I wish Thermaltake would address the issue and come out with a firmware update to fix the problem.

Other Thoughts: ***STAY AWAY FROM THIS ONE***

Manufacturer Response:

Hi PC2,

We at Thermaltake apologize for the inconvenience this may have caused you. Please contact our customer service / support team. We need more detail information from you for the issue.

5 out of 5 eggsWorks just fine

Pros: Dual SATA 6 drive capabilities
USB 3.0
Stylish
Fast!

Cons: Not a single one after 8+ months of daily use

Other Thoughts: I've used this SATA dock almost every day for the last 8 months with a few different systems. Most of the time, it's connected to a Vantec UGT-UC302CB ExpressCard device from a couple laptops. It always works and never once drops connectivity as others have experienced. Most recently, I've used it on a ASUS Z77 Sabertooth motherboard without any issues at all.

1 out of 5 eggsDOOH! Should have Listened.

Pros: Looks nice, great packaging.

Cons: USB 3 connections is UNUSABLE as it drops and reinserts every 20-30 seconds. USB 2 is much better but still has occasional drops.

My machine is a very recent model Dell Optiplex 9010 purchased in June 2012. The built-in USB3 shows to be Intel USB3 Extensible Controller and Host.

Thermaltake makes great stuff, but it appears that the controller selected for this unit has problems. I feel for them but I'm still left with a door stop with a pretty, blinky blue light.

Other Thoughts: It is highly likely that firmware updates would fix this problem, but I have no idea how long (if ever) that will happen.

1 out of 5 eggs

Pros: Pretty

Cons: Doesn't work (at least on USB 3.0). USB 2 seems to run OK. Just received replacement for first unit; same problem. Avoid.
