2 out of 5 eggsDefective after 65 days

Pros: Support for high wattage devices. It had stable voltages when it worked.

Cons: Died within the first three months of ownership on a high quality surge protector.

Other Thoughts: I would love to recommend this unit. It is heavy and indicative of high quality, but when a premium product like this dies within the first three months there is a problem! It ran pretty regularly during the first 60 days, but then got a breather for a month. When I tried it again it decided to fail. A cheap lightweight Antec power supply from 2005 came to the rescue for a night of gaming fun. I am disappointed that a very expensive power supply like this isn't built with decent quality to last for several years.

1 out of 5 eggsIT BROKE AFTER 6WEEKS

Pros: IT WORKED FOR 6WEEKS???

Cons: WELL... IT IS NOT 100% MODULAR... SO DO NOT EXPECT THAT!

THEN TODAY IT STARTED MAKING SOME REALLY LOUD WHISTLE NOISE...

I TOOK OUT THE PSU AND TESTED IT... IT SEEMS LIKE EVEN WITH JUST STANDBY IT STILL MAKES SOME WHISTLING SOUNDS... BUT NOT THAT LOUD...

CONTACTED NEWEGG AND SAYS THEY CANNOT GIVE RMA AND HAD TO CONTACT THERMALTAKE...

CALLED VIA PHONE AND WAS TOLD TO JUST GO ONLINE INSTEAD AND FILL OR READ THE E-RMA... BY THE WAY.. THE E MEANS "EXPRESS"... SO I WAS THINKING I SHOULD GET A WORKING UNIT SOON... THEN THE PROCESS SAYS SEND AN EMAIL... SO I DID SEND AN EMAIL... WHICH I THINK IS GOING TO BE NOT SO EXPRESS AT ALL...

IT LOOKS LIKE MY DESKTOP WON'T BE HAVING ANY POWER FOR A LONG TIME... THE PROCESS IS TO SEND THEM THE UNIT... AND THEY WILL FIX IT AND SEND IT BACK TO ME...

THE BEST PART IS - THEY ARE GOING TO FIX IT FOR FREE??? BUT OF COURSE I HAVE TO PAY FOR THE SHIPPING AND WAIT FOR THEM TO FIX IT... AND SEND IT BACK!!!!!!!!! THAT'S A LOT OF DOWNTIME !!!

Manufacturer Response:

Dear customer,
We at Thermaltake apologize for the inconvenience this may have caused you. We can replace it through warranty service. Please contact our customer service team for RMA instructions.

Pros: Worked well... the six weeks it worked

Cons: Newegg won't stand-behind it and requires going through the Thermaltake RMA process.

Other Thoughts: Thermaltakes' RMA turn-around is cumbersome and slow; almost three weeks until I would see a replacement PSU. I'm just going to spend $400 on an new unit from another manufacturer. This is the second Thermaltake PSU I've going-through this with.
The first was an 850w "ToughPower". It was tough... the six weeks it worked. Then it was tough to return. Caveat Emptor.

5 out of 5 eggsThis is TOUGH

Pros: Runs on my Rampage IV, with 2x Classified GTX 590's, 3960X I7 OC'd, 32 GB of G.Skill 2133 RAM, 2x Intel SSDs, spare 500GB HDD, Creative Titanium SC, G15 Keyboard, ETC. This has plenty of power. I also like the rail system as I was able to easily hide cabling and be able to install just what I need! Plug, thisis Gold certiifed to it should be efficient.

Cons: Wish I could tell how close I am to running this at max power!

Other Thoughts: While a little tight, this fit perfectly into my Thermaltake Level 10 Snow Edition case!

5 out of 5 eggsGreat PSU and a small FYI

Pros: Plenty of power and has just 2 rails. The best part of all is they already dedicated the rails as Rail 1 powers the CPU and Peripherals and Rail 2 runs your high end video cards.

Cons: Wasn't aware until i read the manual that the fan will not run unless the load on the PSU hits 50% or higher to engage the fan..

Other Thoughts: I want to point out that yes this does with a Euro type plug. **BUT** those who wasted $10 on a converted needed to take a little time and read the owners manual, as you have a few options.

Options:
1) If your replacing a PSU you can just use your old cord
2) If this is a new PSU you can call Thermaltake for a replacement
3) If this is a new PSU you can get a proper cord for around $4 at best buy.

Some of you might think this cant be done but when you read the manual it plainly states the PSU is an auto adjusting unit which can handle from 110v to 230v.. So a change in power cord was all thats needed.. Lucky for me I have a small computer repair shop and the guy sold me a used cord for a buck.

5 out of 5 eggsGreat Power Supply

Pros: This thing powers everything like a champ, My old thermaltake 1200 watt psu died after 6+ years of heavy usage. At the moment this is powering 2 MSI GX580 Lightning Extreme's + a GTX570 for physx, 6 Hard Drives & an SSD all on a Rampage III Extreme..., with power to spare for sure. Its' got two +12 volt rails one puts out 55A and the other has 75A this is perfect for all you high end video card owners that require plenty of juice with room to spare. If you want a future proof power supply that will have enough power for all your high end gear then this is it. Get it, It will not disappoint.

Cons: Not really a con but be prepared cause I was not, To buy a Europe to US power outlet converter as this comes with a European spec power cable (two round prongs that plug into the wall), Tip: Outlet converter is about $10 at R-Sh##k. Other than the fact that Thermaltake needs to correct this issue, This is still a very solid unit. Thermaltake better send me a power cable if they fix this issue.

Other Thoughts: Thermaltake specs on their site read that +12V rail#2 is at 75A/780W it's actually 75A/900W is what it actually labeled on the power supply.
