1 out of 5 eggsWorst PSU ive ever purchased

This review is from: Thermaltake Toughpower XT TPX-1275M 1275W ATX 12V 2.3 & SSI EPS 12V 2.92 SLI Ready CrossFire Ready 80 PLUS PLATINUM Certified Modular Active PFC Power Supply

Pros: None

Cons: This thing has overvolted and power surged on me on multiple occassions frying my mobo and hdd's, i sent it back to thermaltake once already and their replacement fried my ssd, replaced it with a cheaper much more reliable seagate 850w and had no more problems, worst experience ever with something that is supposed to be high quality

Other Thoughts: I may have gotten a bad egg of a psu and the replacement came back in a badly damaged box so i know it was a poor refurb probably the same one i originally sent to them

5 out of 5 eggsToughpower 1275W

This review is from: Thermaltake Toughpower XT TPX-1275M 1275W ATX 12V 2.3 & SSI EPS 12V 2.92 SLI Ready CrossFire Ready 80 PLUS PLATINUM Certified Modular Active PFC Power Supply

Pros: Good and lots of power, with the 24 pin and a pair of 8 pin connecters you are all set for a Xeon dual CPU system, plenty of connecters for hard drives and video cards.

Cons: None

Other Thoughts: Make sure your case can handle it. I had to adjust my Thermaltake Armor 8000 case to get it in. It Is BIG, but if you can get it in your case than its not too big.

2 out of 5 eggs2 bad DOA

This review is from: Thermaltake Toughpower XT TPX-1275M 1275W ATX 12V 2.3 & SSI EPS 12V 2.92 SLI Ready CrossFire Ready 80 PLUS PLATINUM Certified Modular Active PFC Power Supply

Pros: Modular cables

Cons: Received unit that was defective (spontaneously power cycling in two different computers) and replacement unit had same issue. My old PSU works fine in both systems so I don't think I had a MOBO or some other issue.

1 out of 5 eggsFailed at 6 weeks

This review is from: Thermaltake Toughpower XT TPX-1275M 1275W ATX 12V 2.3 & SSI EPS 12V 2.92 SLI Ready CrossFire Ready 80 PLUS PLATINUM Certified Modular Active PFC Power Supply

Pros: High wattage.

Cons: Like so many others, failed at 6 weeks, almost on the dot.

Other Thoughts: Would not recommend using, ever, for any reason.

1 out of 5 eggsDissappointed

This review is from: Thermaltake Toughpower XT TPX-1275M 1275W ATX 12V 2.3 & SSI EPS 12V 2.92 SLI Ready CrossFire Ready 80 PLUS PLATINUM Certified Modular Active PFC Power Supply

Pros: Has the appearance of quality build. Nice modular power cable design and includes cable management extras. Worked out of the box.

Cons: Failed after 6 months of use.

Other Thoughts: I purchased 2 of these power supplies to run a pair of KnCMiner Jupiter bitcoin mining machines running at approx. 650 watts each. One power supply has failed completely, and the second is unable to operate the slightly more powerful Nov miner.

3 out of 5 eggsGreat when it works, funked if it don't

This review is from: Thermaltake Toughpower XT TPX-1275M 1275W ATX 12V 2.3 & SSI EPS 12V 2.92 SLI Ready CrossFire Ready 80 PLUS PLATINUM Certified Modular Active PFC Power Supply

Pros: Powerful, 1275W of peak power. Semi-modular. Lots of power options.

Cons: Out of 12 or 15 installed in regular builds, about 6 have failed already. By "fail" I mean they either don't provide enough power when 4 RAM slots are populated, causing the computer as a whole to not even POST. It's really hit or miss with them, which is extremely frustrating seeing as we have to burn through them at an alarming rate. This horribly affects productivity and costs US time and money to get replacements.

Other Thoughts: If possible, you should stay away from this one. We have 850W Seasonic PSUs on hand, and although they don't provide the same peak wattage, they have yet to fail on us.

3 out of 5 eggsSeems Too Good TO be true

This review is from: Thermaltake Toughpower XT TPX-1275M 1275W ATX 12V 2.3 & SSI EPS 12V 2.92 SLI Ready CrossFire Ready 80 PLUS PLATINUM Certified Modular Active PFC Power Supply

Pros: Platinum
1275 watts
Low cost
durable cables
up to 4way SLI support

Cons: Mine was D.O.A.
Had to RMA
super stiff cables

Other Thoughts: I'm sure it is just luck of the draw, however after owning more than 10 PSUs over the years, I've never had one die. Never a DOA or one that died of old age. This was the first, which leaves me with a bad impression of Thermaltake. I'll still probably give them a chance in the future though.

5 out of 5 eggsso far so good

This review is from: Thermaltake Toughpower XT TPX-1275M 1275W ATX 12V 2.3 & SSI EPS 12V 2.92 SLI Ready CrossFire Ready 80 PLUS PLATINUM Certified Modular Active PFC Power Supply

Pros: feels nice and heavy. love the large fan on it. the fan is only on when needed. with my case it cycles and s pwm so it is usually not noticeable when on.

Cons: some cables could be longer but not worth removing an egg they work no problem wold just like to have hide that cable.

Other Thoughts: i bought this even after reading reviews. and mine arrived with an over sized power cable that is rated at 15 amps.

5 out of 5 eggs<3.33% Failure Rate

This review is from: Thermaltake Toughpower XT TPX-1275M 1275W ATX 12V 2.3 & SSI EPS 12V 2.92 SLI Ready CrossFire Ready 80 PLUS PLATINUM Certified Modular Active PFC Power Supply

Pros: Lots of power available, 80+ Platinum cert.

Can power 2x Intel Xeon E5-2687W processors and 2x GTX 580 no problem. This system also includes a WD Velociraptor HDD.

Cons: None so far.
...It's heavy?
...It's expensive?

Other Thoughts: I've installed about 30 of these in machines now. So far only 1 has failed due to being connected to a shorted-out motherboard.

1 out of 5 eggsThermaltake Toughpower isn't that tough

This review is from: Thermaltake Toughpower XT TPX-1275M 1275W ATX 12V 2.3 & SSI EPS 12V 2.92 SLI Ready CrossFire Ready 80 PLUS PLATINUM Certified Modular Active PFC Power Supply

Pros: Runs most hardware well. Good semi-modular design.

Cons: Difficulty with video cards. See below.

Other Thoughts: I use this power supply for a mining rig. I have only 3 7950 ATI video cards. Nothing fancy, just a simple SSD, RAM, MB, PSU, 3 GPUs and a CPU. 1275 W should be more than sufficient to run all of the hardware. I tried to OC my GPUs and they fail. The PSU can't provide enough power to the cards to support the OCing. This is a major problem! If you have some demanding applications, do NOT go with this PSU.
