5 out of 5 eggsGotta love full modular PSUs!

This review is from: Thermaltake SP-1200M 1200W ATX 12V 2.3 & EPS 12V 2.92 SLI Ready CrossFire Ready 80 PLUS BRONZE Certified Full Modular Active PFC Power Supply

Pros: - Does not disappoint! Being fully modular reduces cable clutter considerably!
- Has been humming along since I installed it. ZERO problems!
- Unlike some other modular PSUs I've had experience with, cables are more than long enough to reach (even in my 25" deep rack server case, where the PSU is at one end and the hard drives are at the other)

Cons: - None so far!

2 out of 5 eggsDOA PSU

This review is from: Thermaltake SP-1200M 1200W ATX 12V 2.3 & EPS 12V 2.92 SLI Ready CrossFire Ready 80 PLUS BRONZE Certified Full Modular Active PFC Power Supply

Pros: Mostly Modular. lots of cables provided.

Cons: This unit was DOA. I purchased this through an intermediary, so I'm not sure how long it will take to find out how long resolution will take. I built this rig with lots of thermatake parts. Case, fans, PSU. This PSU is not fully modular, has the 24pin, 8pin and two 4pin cables, yet I only needed the 24 pin, and the 8 pin. I'm not sure there is a Mobo that needs all of the plugs. Can't remove them, they are hard wired into the unit.

Other Thoughts: I fully tested the unit, and all system functions are good with another PSU. Just disappointing. I had a thermaltake for 7 years, then it toasted. I bought an OCZ and it was fine for 3 years so far. I got this unit for my new build, but now I have a dark tower. :( I was on the fence with the corsair and antec PSUs. I hope this is just a slip in the QC for thermaltake, I usually am pleased with their products.

3 out of 5 eggsHas some durability... SOME

This review is from: Thermaltake SP-1200M 1200W ATX 12V 2.3 & EPS 12V 2.92 SLI Ready CrossFire Ready 80 PLUS BRONZE Certified Full Modular Active PFC Power Supply

Pros: This PSU ran flawlessly for 2 years. It has ran for probably a few thousand hours (pretty much heavy use up to 6-10 hrs/day). Has a 5 yr warranty, or at least mine did at time of purchase.

Cons: I was playing some DS2/DBZ Xenoverse/Dying Light one day and my computer shut off with no warning, and kicked the circuit breaker. Upon resetting the breaker, I just thought the power surged. Immediately this time, upon pressing my power button, the breaker kicked again and I reset the breaker again. No more power up. Dead PSU. Read up on troubleshooting methods for hours, and then carried out said methods hoping it was alive. But, alas, it died.

5 out of 5 eggsSo far, so good

This review is from: Thermaltake SP-1200M 1200W ATX 12V 2.3 & EPS 12V 2.92 SLI Ready CrossFire Ready 80 PLUS BRONZE Certified Full Modular Active PFC Power Supply

Pros: - More than enough connections for enough hardware to halfway fill up a Thermaltake Urban S71 full-tower case

- Cool

- Quiet

- My first modular power supply - LOVE it!

Cons: none ( so far )

Other Thoughts: Cool, quiet and powerful with plenty of connections.

For a power supply, what else is there?

5 out of 5 eggsGreat Power supply

This review is from: Thermaltake SP-1200M 1200W ATX 12V 2.3 & EPS 12V 2.92 SLI Ready CrossFire Ready 80 PLUS BRONZE Certified Full Modular Active PFC Power Supply

Pros: Good power supply. Nice cable management. Comes with a pouch for extra/unused cables.

Cons: I don't know how they can call it fully modular when the insist on haveing the 20+4 pin, 8 pin and 4+4 pin MB connectors permanent. I only need the 8 pin or 4+4 pin but I can't remove the unused one and have to zip tie it up. Would rather be able to just plug the cables in I need.
