1 out of 5 eggsDied after 90 day warranty

Pros: Worked very well for the 90 day warranty term.

Cons: Started loosing the esata connection shortly after the 90 day warranty. The red activity light constantly blinks. Next time I will not but a refurnished product. There's a reason for the 90 day warranty.

4 out of 5 eggs

Pros: Works as expected usb and esata

Cons: The button to lift the drive straight off if the connectors is broken, so i have to remove the drive with two hands. Even if this were new and it had this problem I would not return it.

4 out of 5 eggsGreat Little Box

Pros: Small footprint makes this device easy to place out of sight and yet still be accessible. Makes all those old SATA drives laying around usable again and it is easy to install. Just plug it in, reboot and Win 7 will find the drivers for whatever hard drive you have mounted in it. Comes with all the cables. I use it as a back up for my desktop.

Cons: Keep it away from Wi-Fi devices as it apparently emits some RF noise. My MS wireless mouse stopped until I moved the device out of the direct path between the mouse and the transmitter. Use the eSATA connection rather than the USB otherwise you will grow old waiting for big files to load.

Other Thoughts: The device has a power switch which can be problematic if you forget to turn the device off when you are done with your PC. It would be nice if there was a setting to power down when you turn your PC off.

5 out of 5 eggsFreaking Sweet!

Pros: I don't know why people are having issues with the e-sata being slow.. maybe improper AHCI.. it's very fast for me. I copied over a ~4gb file with an average of 59.3Mb/s.

Cons: 2.5" drives can be a little tricky to get aligned, but nothing work killing an egg for.

4 out of 5 eggsIt works.

Pros: Works fine for me, I wanted a simple way to check the contents of several SATA hard drives I have laying around, this is much easier than crawling into my PC every time. Handy device. Using it on USB 2.0, don't have an ESATA port available to test that end of it.

Cons: Yet another Bright Blue LED pointing at my face.
Power button on the back, would be nice if it didn't completely kill power to the unit, the computer has to re-detect it each time. Power button should just kill SATA power, not usb connectivity..

Other Thoughts: Why does everything have to have a bright blue LED. What happened to green orange and red?

Came in an inside out thermaltake power supply box, which I found hilarious.

1 out of 5 eggsPoor e-sata speed data transfer

Pros: Price

Cons: USB speed: ~20 MB/s

e-Sata speed: ~ 3 MB/s

(max. 140 MB/s in the first 5 sec., than drop to 3 MB/s for the rest of the file(s))

Other Thoughts: Better go with USB 3.0 ... 3 x faster than USB 2.0 ...
