2 out of 5 eggsA noisy PSU

Pros: It works; sufficient number of connections

Cons: This thing makes a lot of noise.

Other Thoughts: The PSU worked fine for 3 days (long enough to send out a rebate form). Now it makes intermittent rattling noise.

2 out of 5 eggsNot A Good Choice

Pros: Worked very well. Ran my GTX 650 Ti and a bunch of peripherals with no trouble at all. Very quiet for a time.

Cons: First unit failed, and second unit is going to fail. Became very noisy under heavy load, and the noise is abnormal.

Other Thoughts: My first unit failed while I was playing Borderlands 2 after 3 weeks of use. I figured I had a lemon, so I returned it for a new one. Less than two weeks later, the second unit has begun making an odd rattling sound which increases under load. I'm afraid to play any games because I may have another failure.

5 out of 5 eggsgreat for the price

Pros: I got the PSU for a really good price. I think I psyched myself out a little by reading all the negative reviews, but it works amazingly.

Cons: I've had absolutely no problem with it whatsoever.

1 out of 5 eggsCOIL NOISE!!!!!!!

Pros: -Runs great, under small or insignificant load
-all voltages stay roughly within 8-10% of nominal value

Cons: -This is my second one after doing an RMA for coil noise on the first one...COIL NOISE! This things sings under any load, and at this point, I just want my money back to get any other PSU at this point. Would not recommend to any gamer or computer enthusiast who will be doing anything bearing on the PSU.

Other Thoughts: Thought first one was a bad one, after the second one instantly bad out of the box, I am up to here with you Thermaltake. You will no longer enjoy my business.

1 out of 5 eggsIS MISSING ITS 20TH PIN ON THE ATX

Pros: None so far, didnt get to test it, read the cons.

Cons: So I get the PSU, I selected 7-7 day super egg saver shipping, but it comes on the 3rd day. I got really excited to use it, as my current PSU is very low quality, and unlike this PSU, is very ugly. It came with a lot of cables, all of which were very long, and the 24 pin ATX power connector has cable sleeves on it, making it very high quality, but this is where the luxuries end. As I examined the 24 pin ATX power, I saw that it was missing its 20th pin, rendering the fancy and high quality cable useless. I hope I can get a new one, and I hope shipping it back wont be to much of a chore. This my 1st thermaltake product, and im disappointed, but hopefully the replacement will impress me.

Other Thoughts: Ill give Thermaltake another chance because the build quality of this PSU was good (Minus the missing 20th pin).

1 out of 5 eggschirping

Pros: Somewhat quiet when operating properly

Cons: Fan developed noise after an hour of use. Located the problem. There's a shim under the o-ring on the fan shaft under the sticker. Removed it and problem gone.

When i upgraded my video card from a 6570 to a gtx 560 which draws much more power, the psu started whining and chirping and crackling when under graphical load. This has gotten worse since i installed the card, to the point that playing skyrim is unbearable and scrolling in firefox produces a sizzling sound. I think i've located the problem at the transformers. if they could be filled with epoxy it might remedy the problem, but that isn't at all practical to do.

Other Thoughts: Do your research and get a quality unit for 40 bucks more. You won't regret it.

5 out of 5 eggsCan't beat it with a stick.

Pros: 3,000/3,000! Smells AMAZING! Nothing too special to say about a modular PSU. But this will do it all for a nice price.

Cons: Electricity is powerful, and can be dangerous! Always use caution when handling a power supply. Always plug the PSU into Surge Protector or a GFCI circuit receptacle when connecting the tributaries to the components.
