5 out of 5 eggsBought as replacement

This review is from: Thermaltake TR2 TR-600 600W ATX12V v2.3 SLI Ready CrossFire Ready Power Supply

Pros: It works, I can't complain.

Cons: None so far

Other Thoughts: It did feel significantly lighter than the 500w Thermaltake it replaced which finally blew a cap after 6 years of constant use. So hopefully that doesn't mean a reduction in build quality. Would have just replaced the cap, but my soldering iron doesn't get hot enough to melt the solder used in it.

4 out of 5 eggs3 years haven't had so much as a hiccup

This review is from: Thermaltake TR2 TR-600 600W ATX12V v2.3 SLI Ready CrossFire Ready Power Supply

Pros: I have had this for 3 years and has never given me more than a hiccup. It is relativity quiet and has all the connectors I need for anything I want to do. And the price is amazing for the wattage you get.

Cons: I regret not getting one that is 80 plus anything certified. I am always a little on edge when I turn on my computer for the first time after a major remodel of my computer. My next PSU will have an 80 plus certification and I recommend any to do the same

Other Thoughts: Would recommend it to a friend for the price but looking back I wish I had paid the extra 10 bucks for the certification

1 out of 5 eggs

This review is from: Thermaltake TR2 TR-600 600W ATX12V v2.3 SLI Ready CrossFire Ready Power Supply

Pros: None

Cons: Blew up like a firecracker in slightly more than one year. Took out my hard drive and motherboard. 3 Year warranty doesn't help much when my entire computer is wrecked.

1 out of 5 eggsSerious Problems

This review is from: Thermaltake TR2 TR-600 600W ATX12V v2.3 SLI Ready CrossFire Ready Power Supply

Pros: It's relatively cheap for its wattage, but there are higher wattage, higher quality PSUs for the same cost from other brands.

Cons: Not sure if it's just the build quality, but I've had two of these burn out in just 4 months. After RMAing the first one, the one they sent me after died about a week after I installed it, four hours into a game.

Other Thoughts: I've seen people running the same hardware I have on 500w PSUs from Corsair or Rosewill, so either I keep being sent defective power supplies, or these power supplies grossly over advertise their available wattage. Either way, as appealing as a 5 year warranty is, it becomes drastically less so when you're consistently taking advantage of it.

Manufacturer Response:

Dear Customer,
We apologize that you received another defective unit. Please contact Customer Service so we can remedy the situation. We can also provide you with a basic breakdown of your wattage requirement for your system.

2 out of 5 eggsNo Rebate

This review is from: Thermaltake TR2 TR-600 600W ATX12V v2.3 SLI Ready CrossFire Ready Power Supply

Pros: Does Work

Cons: Thin Wires

Other Thoughts: Did everything they asked - no rebate Thermaltake has went cheapo on their quality, I got a 430watt a few years ago it was OK this 600w is lighter the wires are very thin Would not buy this brand again, wanted to get the word out on the rebate.

Manufacturer Response:

Dear Customer,
Please contact Customer Service in regards to your rebate. If all the documents were submitted within the allotted time frame, we can help you to approve your RMA.

2 out of 5 eggs600 watt tr2 thermo take power supply

This review is from: Thermaltake TR2 TR-600 600W ATX12V v2.3 SLI Ready CrossFire Ready Power Supply

Pros: Purchased three of these and two out of three are working fine.

Cons: Developed fan noise after adding 270x video card, worked fine for 4 months without video card. 270x only draws about 225 watts when maxed out.

Other Thoughts: This is first bad thermo take product, i have had trouble with so kinda disappointed in thermo take.

Manufacturer Response:

Dear Customer,
Please contact Customer Service so we can remedy the negative experience. We would be happy to replace the entire PSU through warranty service.

2 out of 5 eggs

This review is from: Thermaltake TR2 TR-600 600W ATX12V v2.3 SLI Ready CrossFire Ready Power Supply

Pros: price

Cons: everything else... This blew after 3 hours of battlefield 4

Other Thoughts: Great power supply if you don't plan to game on the computer... I assume....

Manufacturer Response:

Dear Customer,
The TR2-600 has no issues powering a gaming PC as long as the components do not exceed the PSU's output capacity. Please contact Customer Service so we can determine the proper power required for your system and help you replace your PSU.

5 out of 5 eggsOwned since March 2013 Rarely turned off NO PROBLEMS!

This review is from: Thermaltake TR2 TR-600 600W ATX12V v2.3 SLI Ready CrossFire Ready Power Supply

Pros: It works great and supplies good power to all of my devices in my rig!
I havent had even a hard drive die connected to this unit.
no bsod's nothing at all and its still quiet..

Cons: None so far, were almost at the 2 year mark!

Other Thoughts: I dont know why everyone is having soo much trouble, did i just get a good unit? or is it possible everyone isnt doing their math as to how much power each component needs and getting the right size for such? i have 5 Hard disk one of which is a SSD, 8 Core Amd 8150, With Liquid Cooler,Geforce 640GT,Tv Card, and More and im still stable.

1 out of 5 eggs2nd unit now has coil whine

This review is from: Thermaltake TR2 TR-600 600W ATX12V v2.3 SLI Ready CrossFire Ready Power Supply

Pros: Works great, when it's working.

Cons: I RMA'd my initial unit just a month or two after I bought it for squealing/coil whine. I've had my second unit for just over 6 months and it just developed the exact same problem. I recently found a site that ranks certain power supplies and this one was in it - almost at the very bottom in terms of reliability. Run. Run far away.

1 out of 5 eggsStay Away

This review is from: Thermaltake TR2 TR-600 600W ATX12V v2.3 SLI Ready CrossFire Ready Power Supply

Pros: -Lasted about 18 months before dying.
-A great many connecttors

Cons: -Lasted about 18 months. This is NOT acceptable. Most of the extremely cheap power supplies last longer

Other Thoughts: I used to buy a great deal of gear from Thermaltake. I believe they used to be a really good company. Now, something has gone wrong. This power supply is an indication. Why should it just decide not to fire up one day? No fire like others have had, but still it should last better than this.

Manufacturer Response:

Dear Customer,
We apologize about the negative experience you have had thus far with the TR2-600. We always strive to provide PSUs that last, but unfortunately defects do occur. This is one of the reasons we back our PSU with a 5 year warranty so that any issues can be resolved through warranty service. Please contact Thermaltake Customer Service and we can have the PSU replaced for you.
