1 out of 5 eggsHeck, doesnt work

This review is from: Thermaltake TR2 TR-600 600W ATX12V v2.3 SLI CrossFire Power Supply

Pros: Its a power supply.

Cons: Bough two of those as they were on sale. Put both of them in two computers with 6950 as the card., and both of them almost caught fire after 1 week of use.

Both of them had heavy smoke coming out with an odor of burnt plastic and the cables were extremely hot to the touch. On one of the two units, the fan started doing loud noise.

Manufacturer Response:

Dear Customer,

The PSU should have no problem with a singular 6950 GPU. No sign of any stress or overload.
Contact Customer Support to discuss your current spec and connections to the PSUs and to replace your PSUs through our warranty service.
Please contact support at your earliest convenience.

5 out of 5 eggsThermaltake TR2 TR-600 600W

This review is from: Thermaltake TR2 TR-600 600W ATX12V v2.3 SLI CrossFire Power Supply

Pros: I posted a review of this PSU back in 12/2012 and it still works perfectly. I just recently upgraded to the EVGA 850 G2 and my TR-600 still works as it did out the box. I have it put away as a back up. It's been running 24/7 since I purchased it back in 2/2012. The unit has went through countless brown outs and black outs and still ran perfectly and never had a single fan issue.

Cons: Wish it was full modular or semi.

Other Thoughts: Fantastic PSU, Since I bought it over 2 years ago it's been in 3 different cases and works just like it did out the box.

1 out of 5 eggsDead on arrival

This review is from: Thermaltake TR2 TR-600 600W ATX12V v2.3 SLI CrossFire Power Supply

Pros: None. I couldn't turn it on day 1. If I was to give it any pros, its a reasonably easy to install and remove PSU. Frankly that doesn't matter when it doesn't provide any power to begin with.

Cons: I've gone through PSUs before. They're typically going to have a life expectancy regardless of treatment but this is the first time I bought a PSU online due to the nice price tag on this item. Literally dead on arrival. It took me a couple of hours to put the PC together and I had thought that I had connected the cables wrong or suspected a defective PSU or motherboard. I was later confirmed to have been right via Geek Squad that the power supply was dead. Now I have a giant paperweight of a PC until I replace the PSU. This is unbelievably bad quality for a new item.

Manufacturer Response:

Dear Customer,
We at Thermaltake apologize for any inconvenience this may have caused.
We can replace it through warranty service.
Please contact Customer Service for RMA instructions.

5 out of 5 eggs

This review is from: Thermaltake TR2 TR-600 600W ATX12V v2.3 SLI CrossFire Power Supply

Pros: Does what it's supposed to do. I have it running a 4670K with a Sapphire R9 270X with never a problem

Cons: None really, besides it's not modular, however I didn't pay for modularity either.

Other Thoughts: Would recommend

1 out of 5 eggsBad Unit

This review is from: Thermaltake TR2 TR-600 600W ATX12V v2.3 SLI CrossFire Power Supply

Pros: Long and plenty of cabling.

Cons: After turning the computer for 15 minutes or 30 minutes and play DVD, the power supply suddenly shut down. I tried to turn it back on; it repeat it the same thing.

Other Thoughts: Never had problems with other brand of power supply. Thermaltake let me the first time. Had to spend the shipping cost to send to manufacture for replacement.

5 out of 5 eggsThermaltake TR2 TR-600

This review is from: Thermaltake TR2 TR-600 600W ATX12V v2.3 SLI CrossFire Power Supply

Pros: Reliable. Steady. Value. Exhaust fan. Plenty of cabling.

Cons: Not modular.

Other Thoughts: Some of the folks below are complaining. Sorry to see they are dissatisfied, but Thermaltake has never done me wrong. I have been buying a TR2 PSU for the last 7 or 8 builds I've done, and I haven't been let down yet, either online or retail purchases. I refuse to buy a PS from a brand I don't trust anymore. Every time I do, thinking I'll save a buck, I get burned and I end up getting a Thermaltake to save my tail on the build.
