4 out of 5 eggsGood PSU

This review is from: Thermaltake TR2 TR-600 600W ATX12V v2.3 SLI Ready CrossFire Ready Power Supply

Pros: Cables are longers than usual and easy to root in my case. Silent until I upgraded my GPU.

Cons: Noisy when you are close to the capacity. I changed for a Corsair HX850i after I installled my 980 Ti because of that.

1 out of 5 eggsDOA

This review is from: Thermaltake TR2 TR-600 600W ATX12V v2.3 SLI Ready CrossFire Ready Power Supply

Pros: Expensive paperweight.

Cons: Power supply received DOA. Returned for refund as I am not taking a chance with a company that can't even make a power supply that works out of the box. I can prove it's the power supply as I pulled a power supply out of another PC and the system booted immediately.

Other Thoughts: If you're looking for a high end power supply from a reputable manufacturer I'd suggest you check elsewhere.

Manufacturer Response:

Dear Customer,

We at Thermaltake apologize for the negative experience you have had with our PSU.
It is unfortunate to lose your business but we hope to gain your support in the furture.

2 out of 5 eggskiller

This review is from: Thermaltake TR2 TR-600 600W ATX12V v2.3 SLI Ready CrossFire Ready Power Supply

Pros: Can't really think of any that don't have to do with pricing. I got it on sale.

Cons: Fried my i7 and motherboard.

Other Thoughts: Led to pretty much an entire system rebuild that initially cost me a few hundred.

Manufacturer Response:

2 out of 5 eggsNot my Cup of Tea!

This review is from: Thermaltake TR2 TR-600 600W ATX12V v2.3 SLI Ready CrossFire Ready Power Supply

Pros: Price...when in special, easy to install, lots of connections, runs pretty silent.

Cons: Lots of 'em! First, if you have a small PC Case, avoid this PSU like the plague! You will have to deal with MAJOR wire management issues, trying to fit all the cables in a place where it wont interfere with your essentials. If you have a case bigger than a regular case, you might be okay for that point....

I tested that PSU for a week now and can tell you it does some kind of intermitted/sporadic/unpredictable "spark" sound that might come from either the capacitor or the coil (don't want to open it as it will void the warranty). I didn't receive my new graphic card but I don't want to take the change to blow that card, and my mobo as well with a sound that I totally do not trust.

Other Thoughts: It might do the job, or maybe you can have a better luck than I do, but according to all the forums/reviews I have read after buying that product and experiencing the spark noise, it seems like your chance of having a good unit is as good as tossing a coin on the side you wanted.

I will return it to the store because that sound/problem will drive me crazy one day or another. I already bought another PSU from another company, which seems to have a higher percentage of reliability.

Manufacturer Response:

Dear Customer,

We at Thermaltake would like to apologize for the inconvenience this has caused.
Please take a moment to contact customer support to discuss your application with the PSU.
By doing so, we hope we can pin point what may have caused "spark" sound and shed some light on the issue.

It is unfortunate to lose your business but we hope to gain your support in the future.

2 out of 5 eggsWaste of money

This review is from: Thermaltake TR2 TR-600 600W ATX12V v2.3 SLI Ready CrossFire Ready Power Supply

Pros: It worked for barely over a year.

Cons: I have to spend more money on a new PSU because this one no longer works.

Manufacturer Response:

Dear Customer,

We at Thermaltake would like to apologize for the inconvenience this has caused.
