Thermaltake’s EVO-Blue Series power supply is designed to meet the highest expectations and standards of today's PC enthusiasts and system builders. Turbo Charge Function ensures 100W extra power output for more performance. Being 80 PLUS Gold certified, it delivers a guaranteed eco-friendly PSU with 87-90% efficiency @ 20-100% load reducing energy waste and your electricity bill. High quality 105°C Japanese capacitors, Smart Fan control circuitry design, FanDelayCool Technology, and flat, low-profile cables complete the package. All these enable the Thermaltake’s EVO-Blue Series to deliver rated continuous 750W power output even in 50°C environment, making it one of the toughest power supply on the market.
Optimal bottom-mount cooling = LED fan down = useless LED feature
Pros: Installing this unit fan up in the bottom of a full-tower gaming case lights up the case nicely. Loved that, for as long as I let it be in that config (see cons below). Modular design eliminates unneeded cables in case = less cable management. Can get a power boost to 850 (tbo haven't tried this yet though). Mounting fan up or fan down the "EVO Blue 2.0" logo is always right-side up in the case. Worked well out of the box with no issues. Price wasn't too bad, and the fan is very quiet. Well done. 80 Plus GOLD certified was icing on the cake.
Cons: Mounting this fan-up (and therfore LED up) in the bottom of my full-tower case is less than optimal for PSU cooling. I decided to mount it fan (and led) down to pull in room air rather than warm case air. Mounting it fan up made the 8-pin MB power connector a skosh too short, so that it would require an extender (provided with my black Thermaltake Level 10 GT case) since the MB power cables exit the PSU near my case door, not near the MB as is optimal IMHO. Mounting it fan-down orients the LED light shining down towards my desk under the case (rendering it useless really), but draws in room air and makes the MB power cables exit the PSU near the bottom of my ATX MB which puts them at an optimal place relative to my cable management rubber grommets. Cables are not sleeved, for people who prefer that... They are, how should I say it, rubberized ribbons instead. Not too bad to do some nice cable management, but they are a bit stiff if you get them twisted in a poor orientation. I think o
Other Thoughts: I wanted a PSU with "just above-average" wattage, since I'm only an occasional gamer. Having said that, I like that I can bump this one up a bit. Of primary concern to me is function, but I do like some bling in my case. I was a bit disappointed that I couldn't take advantage of the large blue LED light for my build, but I like the performance so far.
