Pros: It's pretty.

Cons: Some simple reasoning. When your PSU's fan comes with three modes, if the fastest fan mode doesn't wear it out faster then why use any other mode? Okay, suppose now that your brand new top tier gaming rig randomly reboots so to work you go. After ruling out the wattage of your PSU, overheating in the processors, graphics cards, motherboard, and hard drives, as well as having ruled out malware, drivers, and BIOS settings, what remains? Maybe it's that pretty PSU with a fan that has three modes. Let's test.

Sure enough, in red-lit turbo mode the random reboots cease in new games with maxed settings. Now, let's ask ourselves. Why does this pretty PSU come with three fan modes fail to include an RPM lead again?

So, there you are a PSU company barely competing in the gaming rig market and you want to cut costs by including a substandard fan. Here's an idea! Run it too slow with an option to turn it up, and then when the rig loses power a lack of RPM lead means nobody can prove it's the PSU overheating! Just make it pretty.

Other Thoughts: I have to replace a brand new PSU before it fails due to gimmick design being emphasized over quality. Thanks Thermaltake. Guess I should have paid closer attention to your name.
