5 out of 5 eggsGreat PSU

This review is from: Thermaltake PS-TPD-1000MPCGUS-1 1000W ATX12V / EPS12V 80 PLUS GOLD Certified Active PFC Power Supply

Pros: Have owned this for over a year and it has worked great w/o any problems. I have owned several Thermaltake PSU's over the years, have only had issues w/ one of them which they replaced w/ a higher Wattage rated PSU.

Cons: n/a

Other Thoughts: I would recommend this PSU to others. I learned early on in my PC building days that the number one rule is: Do NOT skimp on core PC components, not only will they likely fail you can destroy other components of your PC.

2 out of 5 eggsAlmost 7 months

This review is from: Thermaltake PS-TPD-1000MPCGUS-1 1000W ATX12V / EPS12V 80 PLUS GOLD Certified Active PFC Power Supply

Pros: it worked quietly.

Cons: it already broke after 6 months of use

Other Thoughts: This supply seems to work for everyone else, I guess I got a defective one? My buddy is running a cheaper supply and it has gone a solid 5 years and even been in a car crash and still runs.

5 out of 5 eggsWould buy again, great PSU

This review is from: Thermaltake PS-TPD-1000MPCGUS-1 1000W ATX12V / EPS12V 80 PLUS GOLD Certified Active PFC Power Supply

Pros: Quiet
Durable
Dependable

6 months powering an i7-4790K and GTX 780 (non-Ti (600W min requirement)) among other power hungry components with no hiccups

Cons: No ON/OFF switch

It's only GOLD certified?

Other Thoughts: I've been running this power supply for over 6 months now, and it has been nothing short of great.

Although anytime I go to unplug the power cable and plug it back in, I'm there wishing it had an ON/OFF switch, I'm paranoid of shorting it? but hasn't happened yet.

5 out of 5 eggs

This review is from: Thermaltake PS-TPD-1000MPCGUS-1 1000W ATX12V / EPS12V 80 PLUS GOLD Certified Active PFC Power Supply

Pros: Works as expected

Cons: none

Other Thoughts: someone else complained about the flat cables. I really didn't have a problem with them until I had to fold them over to tie down to the case back.

4 out of 5 eggsGreat PSU - If mounted "correctly".

This review is from: Thermaltake PS-TPD-1000MPCGUS-1 1000W ATX12V / EPS12V 80 PLUS GOLD Certified Active PFC Power Supply

Pros: Plenty of power
Hybrid modular design
Efficient power supply

Cons: My case requires the power supply to be mounted "upside-down" (Fan facing up) and after about a month of use I began to notice a clicking sound in the fan that went away if the power supply was mounted in the normal orientation.

This is mostly a fault of the case, but I didn't expect a higher-end power supply to be very noisy based on the orientation of the fan.

Other Thoughts: As long as your case allows for the fan to face the bottom of the case, this is a great PSU and is very quiet.

5 out of 5 eggsGreat Power Supply

This review is from: Thermaltake PS-TPD-1000MPCGUS-1 1000W ATX12V / EPS12V 80 PLUS GOLD Certified Active PFC Power Supply

Pros: *Nicely Packaged
*Cables are of great quality
*Extremely quiet under load
*Fit nicely in my Cosair 450D Case

Cons: *Cables may be a bit short for cases larger than mid tower if you want to run them behind the motherboard

Other Thoughts: Would definitely recommend or purchase again
