4 out of 5 eggsGreat replacement for a prior PSU

This review is from: Thermaltake TR2 Bronze 600W SLI/CrossFire Ready ATX12V v2.31 / EPS v2.92 80 PLUS BRONZE Certified 5 Year Warranty Active PFC Power Supply Haswell Ready PS-TR2-0600NPCBUS-B

Pros: Fan is smooth, fast, and quiet - at first I thought it wasn't even running!
Easy to install, reasonable size and weight
Great options for hookups!

Cons: Not fully modular but for the price it can't be beat!

Other Thoughts: I bought this PSU as a replacement to my previous PSU which was having fan troubles (and the day before this one arrived, failure). It installed without issue, and was fairly easy to deal with in terms of cable management. The fact that I ordered it on Friday and it arrived on Monday was a huge bonus, considering the unexpected fan failure!

1 out of 5 eggsPunked on the Rebate!

This review is from: Thermaltake TR2 Bronze 600W SLI/CrossFire Ready ATX12V v2.31 / EPS v2.92 80 PLUS BRONZE Certified 5 Year Warranty Active PFC Power Supply Haswell Ready PS-TR2-0600NPCBUS-B

Pros: Decent enough PSU for the price.

Cons: I was just informed that my rebate was denied - "Item Not Found/Item Invalid - The item you applied for does not qualify for this promotion, or cannot be found on the invoice, receipt, or packing list (if applicable) provided" which is just not true, as I registered directly on their website, printed out everthing requested with the information required plainly legible on the page... It appears that they are willing to lose customers over this nonsense. Ridiculous.

Other Thoughts: I'll be checking back here to see how many other Neweggs have this experience :P

Manufacturer Response:

Dear Customer,

We at Thermaltake would like to apologize for the negative experience thus far.
Please contact Customer Support at your earliest convenience and provide your rebate information.

5 out of 5 eggsEverything I needed and more.

This review is from: Thermaltake TR2 Bronze 600W SLI/CrossFire Ready ATX12V v2.31 / EPS v2.92 80 PLUS BRONZE Certified 5 Year Warranty Active PFC Power Supply Haswell Ready PS-TR2-0600NPCBUS-B

Pros: Price (got it 20% off with a rebate)
Powerful
Long cables
Bronze Plus

Cons: When they say long cabling, they do mean it. The cables are very long indeed but each cable will have a multitude of connectors on each segment, a lot of them different types. It makes the system somewhat clunky if you aren't utilizing most/all of the connectors. This is obviously par for the course with any PSU, but the extra cable length exacerbates the issue. Absolutely nothing worth removing an egg for as a few well placed cord wraps tidied up the inside of my system nicely.

Other Thoughts: When I upgraded my graphics card I knew I had to do they same with the PSU. I got an nvidia 960 GTX 4GB and although 600 watts is well over what is needed for that I was able to get this one for as cheap as a standard 500 watt (score!) so I figured why not and future proof my system a little.

It runs very cool and quiet and I have not had any issues so far. Would recommend!

5 out of 5 eggsGood psu

This review is from: Thermaltake TR2 Bronze 600W SLI/CrossFire Ready ATX12V v2.31 / EPS v2.92 80 PLUS BRONZE Certified 5 Year Warranty Active PFC Power Supply Haswell Ready PS-TR2-0600NPCBUS-B

Pros: Good efficiency, draws less wattage than my old 450w psu running the same components, wrapped cables

Cons: None so far

Other Thoughts: I'm running an 8 core amd and a gtx770 with 2 hard drives and it draws less wattage at full load than my previous power supply did.

5 out of 5 eggsGreat and Stable

This review is from: Thermaltake TR2 Bronze 600W SLI/CrossFire Ready ATX12V v2.31 / EPS v2.92 80 PLUS BRONZE Certified 5 Year Warranty Active PFC Power Supply Haswell Ready PS-TR2-0600NPCBUS-B

Pros: Easy to install
Nice Cabling
Great Stability
Feels about 3x heavier and 100x more sturdy then anything HP or Dell put in their towers.

Cons: I didn't get a Thermaltake sticker with this one :(

Other Thoughts: Runs a AMD 4.0ghz 6core with a Nvidia 770 just fine, probably over doing it by a bit.
I've been using Thermaltake power supplies for a long time, out of about 20 of them I only got one that failed after a year, the rest have lasted at least 4 years.

5 out of 5 eggsTitle?

This review is from: Thermaltake TR2 Bronze 600W SLI/CrossFire Ready ATX12V v2.31 / EPS v2.92 80 PLUS BRONZE Certified 5 Year Warranty Active PFC Power Supply Haswell Ready PS-TR2-0600NPCBUS-B

Pros: I bought this for my gaming PC and it worked great! Had it for a little over a year then it started to suffer from coil whine. However, for the price and the fact that it never caused me any major problems, it's a great PSU.

Cons: No cons, really. After a year it started to emit loud whining noises but I wasn't too disappointed. It served me well.

Other Thoughts: -i5 3570K @4.2
-MSI R9 280x
