4 out of 5 eggsBring a File

Pros: Hooked it up, plugged it in, and away it ran. No problems whatever. Fan is very silent.

Cons: The corner of the AC receptacle interfered with the cutout in the cabinet, making it necessary to do a fair bit of work with a metal file. It was also necessary to drill out the mounting holes in the case to a next-larger size to get all the screws in. And: only enough SATA connectors for a very basic system--which, fortunately, was all I was building.

Other Thoughts: Fits nicely in a microATX case.

5 out of 5 eggs

Pros: Had it for moer than 7 years powered on for at least 50% of that time and still runs solidly. Opened it up and wired the two fans in series to make them run at half-speed and dead silent...

Cons: na

Other Thoughts: It seems like a lot of people tend to go overkill with thier power supplies. Even with highend cpus most systems will never draw more than 300 watts...

1 out of 5 eggsDOA

Pros: -read below

Cons: -DOA on arrival.
I tried putting this into my case, plugged everything in and closed the case. I tried pressing the START button but all i hear is a BEEP then stops. Turned the PSU Off then ON then tried again. Same results.... and you need to buy the warranty which I plan not to. I will not buy another PSU from Apex again.

3 out of 5 eggs

Pros: The power supply does an excellent job of powering components and sucking heat away from the CPU.

Cons: After two months of use, the low-noise fan became a high-noise fan and hums very loudly.

Other Thoughts: Since I am out of the RMA time frame, I will be replacing this power supply with a different one. I will probably keep this one as a backup in case of emergencies. Please note that the loudness of the fan is the only thing that I am unhappy with. Before this, everything was working fine and I was extremely pleased with the power supply.

5 out of 5 eggsMatched the Case

Pros: Purchased this power supply with an Apex case. I was a little apprehensive at first, cause I generally buy the Antec brand. I was pleasently surprised by the weight of the power supply. Label called it a 400 w power supply and I have found that some of the bargain units are light as a feather and burn out in a short time under real world loads. This unit seems as robust as the power supplies found in Dell and HP computers.

Cons: A little lean on SATA power connectors. Only had two, but that was all I needed for the build. There are 4 molex, so and adapter would be necessary if more SATA devices are added.

Other Thoughts: I would probably buy this supply as a replacement for a bad one, but the 400w model is the lowest in their line I would purchase. I think 300w output is probably the absolute this unit would supply constantly.

1 out of 5 eggsDead after 5 weeks

Pros: Great Price, good feature set

Cons: Died on me after 5 weeks of fairly light use - popped in another PSU and everything worked fine so I know it was the Power supply - not worth the time to package up and return, will chalk it up as just one of those things
