5 out of 5 eggsStill going after four years of hard gaming

Pros: This is a second review four years later. I have been through many power supplies since I started building computers ages ago and the average time they have lasted has been a year and a half to two years. This PSU is rock solid and when my current one does finally go, I will be replacing it with another.

Cons: None at all. This thing was built solid. Has been through two 7900gt's in SLI, an 8600gts, and is currently on a soon to be replaced 9800gtx+...not to mention about a thousand LAN parties and three house moves.

Other Thoughts: Easily one of the best purchases I have made for computing. If this thing does not perform to your standards you can come find me and punch me in the face! In fact, this is the end of my review you should have stopped reading and bought this several paragraphs ago! What is wrong with you???

5 out of 5 eggsgreat

Pros: It has 24+8+4 pin connectors that work with my Tyan serverboard. It's pretty quiet and has all of the other connectors I need, and then some.

Cons: Blue LEDs. If it weren't going into the water heater closet where nobody will see it, I'd have to take it apart to disconnect the LEDs. That would void the warranty probably.

Other Thoughts: It's far more power than I needed. Running folding@home smp2 client on quad-core Opterons at 100% on every core is drawing 118 watts at the wall according to the Kill A Watt meter.
It would be cool if these had a switch for the LEDs. If you're prepubescent, you could turn them on. The rest of us could turn them off and not void our warranties.

5 out of 5 eggsRunning like a champ!

Pros: Strong running PSU for the money, enough amps to power 2x 8800's with ease.
I'm running this PSU on a A64 2.7ghz system with 3x sata hdd's and a dvdrw and I leave my pc running 24/7.

This is one stable computer and this PSU helped make it happen.

Cons: none

2 out of 5 eggsDied After 18 Months

Pros: Good power while it lasted, more amperage than other 600W PSU's on the market. 80% Efficient at full loads according to Manufacturer Data Sheet.

Cons: Died after 18 Months. PC would have intermittent crashes few months before it failed. Finally failed and PC would shut down after 3 sec of power.

Other Thoughts: For a short term solution, this PSU is OK, rails are almost stable most of the time.
Asus M2N-E 2GB Corsair XMS DDR2 Memory, AMD Dualcore processor, Nvidia 7900Gt vidcard, few HD's and Optical drives
