5 out of 5 eggsSabrent SBT ESU25 Enclosure

Pros: The enclosure worked fine with a 2.5 inch drive from an old laptop I trashed. The screws are self-tapping and need a slightly larger screwdriver than the one supplied. The 3-headed cable is needed to mount the drive to a USB port, the single USB plug is for additional power to the enclosure if needed.

Cons: The back plate on the enclosure is very reflective, new in appearance. The front plate is dull, scratched, and what looks like screwdriver marks where someone forced the front plate off the enclosure. The front plate looks like it was re-cycled from an RMA item.

Other Thoughts: For the price the device works just fine. As for the heavily used front plate, I expected better, but, I will use it for the purpose intended. Overall I would buy it again.

5 out of 5 eggsConnector is Awesome

Pros: The biggest pro here is the connector. Those f.ing mini USB connectors ALWAYS screw up eventually. This has a regular sized connector, which has worked

Cons: None. If it's loose, just use a little paper...One guy said there's a groove to put the HD in

Other Thoughts: I usually don't buy cheap stuff, but in this case they've done a bang up job

4 out of 5 eggsSABRENT SBT-ESU25

Pros: Definitely Cheap, And Very affective. I am using this Case with the Seagate Momentus 5400 160g 2.5 inch laptop hard drive and so far it works great. I haven't had any problems doesn't over heat like others do. I have run it up to 6 hours with no skipping or write failures so over all very good.

Cons: Now some people say that the Rattling is a problem but with my hard drive i didn't have to add anything no paper no Kleenex and it doesn't rattle or vibrate so i am satisfied with that. the USB Cable is Interesting to say the least but it does work. I noticed that in order to use the hard drive at maximum efficiency you must have both of the USB ends on the one side plugged in or you hard drive will skip and have problems.

Other Thoughts: This Product Has a very good Transfer Rate it says 458/mbs and i Would believe it I have played World of Warcraft with this hard drive on high and it works smooth as can be. This is a great product and i would recommend it to anyone

4 out of 5 eggsJob done cheap

Pros: Works, power from USB, aluminum is protective, screws (cheap) screwdriver driver disk and (cheap) leather case included, Hi Speed USB

Cons: Weird cable (male to male with a male in the middle), so the enclosure only accepts a male USB port, limited in the number of cables you can use to connect (not the typical mini A or B's that are everywhere). Again, wrap the drive in paper or it will rattle around, the only connection points are the data pins (yikes).

Other Thoughts: weird cable and need a "secure" mod of paper but with power over USB, cheap, and does get the job done, it works.

3 out of 5 eggsCost-effective

Pros: Inexpensive, gets the job done

Cons: There's really nothing to fasten the hard drive into an immobile position. You just plug it into the IDE interface on the back panel, slide it into the box and just let the drive flop around in there. I really, really don't like that.

3 out of 5 eggsGood and Cheap

Pros: It does its job.

Cons: I had to put a piece of kleenex on one side of the harddrive so it wouldn't rattle around.
The metal feels a bit cheap.

Other Thoughts: For the price it's good, and really with the only downside that was worrying me having such a quick fix (just a piece of paper will do the trick) I would recommend this to others.

I ordered this product at 2pm EST or so, Newegg shipped it out same day and somehow even though I ordered 3 day shipping it arrived at my door the next day. Go Newegg!

4 out of 5 eggsCheap and easy to install.

Pros: Very nice enclosure and easy to install.

Cons: Hard disk is moving inside of the box. I needed to put some paper towel to stabilize it.
Maybe that's because my HD was really tinny

4 out of 5 eggsSimple and works

Pros: Low cost
Works with PC or Mac
Small size
Does not need extra power when connected directly to computer

Cons: Small rattle of harddrive (fix with small rubber pad in case)

Other Thoughts: I have two of there and they have worked well

4 out of 5 eggsWorth the price

Pros: Cheap price, aluminum housing (although the endcaps are plasitc). Very simple design so there is not much you can screw up.

Cons: Cord is cheap. Make sure you dont put to much tension on it or pull it by the cords. I broke the insulation and had to tape it up after a while.

Other Thoughts: No documentation. But its such a simple device it really does not need any.

5 out of 5 eggsSplendiferous

Pros: Compact, USB 2.0, screwdriver, cable & carry case included, runs like a dream.

Cons: N/A

Other Thoughts: If you want to do portable storage, use 2.5" hard drives. Fits in your shirt or pants pocket & only needs USB for power. Newegg delivered amazingly fast!
