3 out of 5 eggs

Pros: Does what you need it for, that's about it though.

Cons: You have to have it sit just right one way or the other. Can't bump the cords or it disconnects, it frequently disconnected anyway though even if they weren't bumped. The button for auto-backup didn't work either, and the screws were tiny and the whole thing kept overheating.

5 out of 5 eggsGreat case

Pros: Have had this 4 months and does great. I paired this with a netgear 3700 to use with a WD 1GB hard drive as a server drive. FLAWLESS.

Cons: No cons!! If it had a built-in fan to blow air in or out would be nice. If you use the drive constantly the case will get hot but that is how it is supposed to work. The copper in the case is a very good conductor of heat.

Other Thoughts: If you use this case I would recommed you use a lower RPM hard drive to help keep heat low.

4 out of 5 eggs

Pros: Nice appearance, does what it's supposed to do. Even came with a screwdriver for assembly. Was used with a dish VP211k receiver.

Cons: The side screws are incredibly tiny, only two ship, don't lose them. No instructions, so the hard drive "brackets" and assembly took a minute of guessing to figure out but not enough to detract from the score.

3 out of 5 eggsSome disk lock-up in this case

Pros: Works with some drives, others not.

Cons: I've found that the following drives will stop responding in this enclosure:

Samsung HD103SJ
Seagate ST32000641AS

4 out of 5 eggsA word of warning

Pros: It works speedily.

Cons: Does not work with the 2tb drive I bought for it.

Other Thoughts: Just make sure you fully look at the specifications as I did not and got burned.

3 out of 5 eggsadequate

Pros: Just works. Can't complain for the price. I'm using it as a backup drive with OpenBSD.

Cons: The power plug barrel is a poor mate for the socket, and thus the power connection is unstable, as another reviewer noted. I used a knife to trim some of the plastic collar off the plug, and that allowed it to insert more fully and resolved the problem.

5 out of 5 eggsPerfect

Pros: Works great!

Cons: wasn't free;-)

Other Thoughts: Never had a problem with the Egg. You can always have confidence in their products. This is another example.

5 out of 5 eggsPretty decent enclosure

Pros: Easy to install, just unscrew 2 screws and the whole case slides off like a sleeve. From there just place your drive in the caddy and it works perfectly. Pretty good transfer speeds and it isnt getting too hot. Also pretty inexpensive.

Cons: None so far

5 out of 5 eggsnice case

Pros: solid case, ease of assembly, reasonable heat dissipation. plastic bits are sturdy.

Cons: none

Other Thoughts: I have had rosewill cases die. This one has given me no trouble. I like that it also has a power switch on the back.
