5 out of 5 eggsAsic power

Pros: Plugged this into a asicminer tube with a 75 amp at 12 volts usage. Works fine does not get hot and if it makes noise I cannot hear it over the asicminer.

Cons: About 1110 watts pull from the wall.

Other Thoughts: It does exzactly what i wanted it to and no issues so far.

1 out of 5 eggs< 30 days operational and it died

Pros: None

Cons: It died after less than 30 days in operation. What a joke. Trying to RMA it against their 5 year warrantly, but what will I do if I end up with the same one? Keep replacing it every 30 days?

Other Thoughts: I run a business, I can't have my machine die twice in 30 days due to power supply failure. My last PS lasted 5 years, this lasted less than 30 days. I wasn't even taxing this supply, it was just running 3 disk drives.

2 out of 5 eggsNot cut-out for the big job.

Pros: I like the design from looking at the pictures which made me buy one. I also bought it because it is rated 80 plus and I wanted to give this guy a shot.

Cons: Didn't last as long as I would have liked. It lasted less than 22days. I didn't like how long the cables were especially the pcie cables. I think it was intentionally designed to limited the number of graphic cards that you can install. For a single GPU like R9 290x you will need 2 separate pcie cables. Why would you need two separate pcie cables when you can have just one with double connectors? You have a grand total of six pcie cables at you disposal so do the math. Next is the molex connector (SATA connector as it is referred to at the back of the PSU) which I realize for what ever reason could not work well with any GPU card. The GPU fan was running and all but no video. After switching cables the only one that worked was the permanently attached molex power connector. I am sending it back.

Other Thoughts: I bought this for my mining rig. I have 5 R9 290x which just came in the mail but at the time of failure only 4 R9 290x were running. I thing there is a 50/50 chance that it may work for you. Do you feel lucky today?

4 out of 5 eggsGood PSU

Pros: Nice packaging, has a good amount of options.low noise, seems to run cool enough. more power than is needed for the peripherals installed but leaves room for upgrades. All in all a good purchase.

Cons: For a bottom mounted PSU in a Full Tower.
Wires need to be a few inches longer to route clear of components. Could not take advantage of the full towers routing ports intended to hide wires and keep an uncluttered case. Had to route the 8 pin EATX over the large video card and directly over the processor to connect.

Other Thoughts: Worked out, just not as neat as I would have liked. A 2 or 3way SLI set up would have been a problem.

1 out of 5 eggsBuyer Beware

Pros: The price its low however you get what you pay for

Cons: Came DOA

Other Thoughts: Coolmax Quality Control isn't on par with other power supply manufacturers. After doing a real nice wire job on the case the PS was DOA. I plugged in my old OCZ 850 and my computer worked fine. I'm going to stick with my OCZ. I sent the Coolmax PS back to newegg and I'm waiting for a refund. Good luck if you decide to buy one of these power supplies. I wouldn't roll the dice, unless you don't mind doing multiple wire jobs on your case.

2 out of 5 eggsFake 80plus certification

Pros: delivers a lot of power. Stable running 5 270x

Cons: not officially 80plus gold certified. official list of certified psus in the 80plus program can be found at Ecova. This PSU is not listed, but an older version is listed and is only 80plus certified, not 80plus gold. Can't be sure that it really is >87% efficiency.

2 out of 5 eggsPretty cheap

Pros: Cheap

Cons: Doesn't last

Other Thoughts: I intended to use this PSU for my scrypt mining rig. It ran for a day or so but eventually started randomly rebooting.

I was not pushing it that hard, only had 3 cards and pulling around 930W from the wall. Since then I have learned that PSU is one thing you should *NOT* skimp on when building a mining rig.
