2 out of 5 eggsNoisy and Causes Interference

Pros: It powered my base non-gaming pc just fine.

Cons: I upgraded PC with a better video card to a GTX 960 from a GT730. Now when the PC is under heavy load during gaming the PSU causes electrical interference causing my Surround sound system to buzz and causes tv image noise. The PSU fans ran at max RPMs since they are wired directly to the rail, as a result very noisy.

Other Thoughts: The clear case is cool, but since its not metal there is no shielding to prevent interference from the psu.

1 out of 5 eggsWorst build quality I've ever seen

Pros: Efficient 5VSB rail

Cons: Where do I begin? First of all, there was a screw rattling around inside the case!!! No wonder these are giving people DOA's. This has got to be the worst build quality I've ever seen in a power supply. Also, you don't even get the unit pictured here. If you look at the pictures, that one actually has decent sized heatsinks, and looks more packed full of components. The one you get looks much more gutless, and the rear fan is actually sunk into the chassis of the unit. Speaking of the chassis, it wasn't put together correctly. The top and sides of the top cover are warped, and I could pull the rocker switch out of the unit with my bare hand because it was so loose.
I received a European power cord instead of a USA one.
"WITH FAN SENSOR CONTROL" That's just got to be a mean joke...Both fans run at full speed because they're wired straight to the 12V rail, and they are very, very loud. By the way, there's almost no lubrication in the sleeve bearings, don't except them to last long running at over 4,250RPM all the time.
There were many deep cuts and gouges on the solder side, and long component leads that were almost shorting out each other. It's amazing it powered on at all.
I thought the two input capacitors looked small for what they said, which is 1000µF. I pulled them and put them on my capacitance meter, and they read 524µF and 533µF. Wow!
One of the ground wires for the motherboard connector wasn't even soldered into the PCB.

Other Thoughts: Even if this thing was well built and put together, it still isn't close to a 550W power supply. Most modern computers uses about 90% of its load from the 12V rail. This unit is capable of about 20A on the 12V rail. That makes it about a 250W power supply. Do not buy this thing, for the sake of your computer, and the noise level in your room ;)
Don't buy this, because it will encourage them to keep building them like this. Tell everyone you know, avoid Logisys at all costs!

4 out of 5 eggsGreat psu for my needs

Pros: 1) Price
2) Clear shell, inside of my case glows blue from the led.
3) Green cables adds a neat black light effect.

Cons: This was my first computer build. My mobo requires a 4 pin cpu power connector - the specs say this came with one, it does not, it comes with a 6 pin. So I went and bought a adapter. The psu is the noisiest thing in my computer, in a quiet room it's kinda deafening when you focus on it.

Other Thoughts: Idk if its the psu or the mobo, but when plugging in a usb blu-tooth dongle to the mother board rear panel, it gets interference. Cuts out quite often even when the mouse and keyboard is only a couple feet away. But anything wired works just fine.

3 out of 5 eggsUpdated Review

Pros: Clear Shell, Dual 80mm Blue UV Lit Fans , Green UV Reactive Cable Sleeves, Fast Shipping.

Cons: Makes some noise when installing, almost as if the shell is about to crack, so be careful when installing, one of the mount screws didn't screw into the mount fixture built onto the shell, had to use an aftermarket screw and force it.

Other Thoughts: I originally wrote a review that said it was DOA. After some research, I found a way to test the PSU. I plugged it in, and it wouldn't turn on, no fans, no lights, nothing. I'm very early in the building stage and only have a Mobo, Fans, Tower and PSU. I thought that once I turned the PSU on via the switch on the PSU, it would turn on. Turns out that it will only turn on if it is connected to a Mobo with a cpu and has all the other components. I looked up how to test it without a functional computer and found out I could jump the Green power cable on the 24 pin connector, to the Black ground on the same connector with a paperclip, to make the PSU think it was hooked up to a functioning computer. I did that, and switched it on, voila, it worked. The lights came on, the fans came on and looks like it works. So it does work upon arrival, I just didnt know that it wouldnt unless I had a completed computer.

1 out of 5 eggsDOA

Pros: Clear Case, UV Reactive Sleeving, and Quick Shipping.

Cons: DOA. It would light up my power button LED, but failed to completely power on my computer, the built in fans wouldn't even power on. I guess you really do get what you pay for, though I could have saved a few bucks with this one. Do yourself a favor a d spend the extra 30-50 bucks on a more relibale, well known PSU. My next purchase will be a Corsair.

1 out of 5 eggsDo Not Buy

Pros: Nice look between the green cables and Blue LED

Cons: Only lasted two months

Other Thoughts: Installed in the end of Oct and Died just after Christmas. This piece is garbage, stay away, thought I could go with a cheap PS for this old computer, apparently I was wrong, don't waste your money and buy quality parts

3 out of 5 eggsLogisys PS550AC 550Watts ATX12V PSU

Pros: 1). Price
2). Powers all my components
3). The blue led
4). The green uv cables look cool when light hits them

Cons: 1)A major con for this psu is the noise, it is extremely noisy.(much louder than stock cpu fan spinning at full speed) The fans on the psu seem to spin at max speed all the time, no matter if its idling or playing games.
2)Another con, less major, is the 12v rail. The 12v rail provides a lot less power than a more expensive psu's 12v rail would supply

Other Thoughts: Pay the extra money and get a better one, or you regret buying this one.
