4 out of 5 eggsWorks

Pros: Cheap price for a cheap rig. Plenty of connectors for a basic computer. Does its job just fine if you don't need anything else. Good buy for the money.

Cons: No 8 power, no PCI-X, but what do you expect at this price range?

2 out of 5 eggsBad connections

Pros: Cheap?

Cons: So lightweight that when I pulled it out of the box I laughed.

Connections are shoddy - move the computer around and it wont start until you re-kerjigger the wires.

3 out of 5 eggsUpdate

Pros: Price

Cons: Actual power less than 480W; light weight

Other Thoughts: I originally reviewed this power supply as DOA, but my husband and I discovered yesterday we didn't know how to test computer power supplies. When we shorted pin 15 & 16 of the ATX plug, the unit did power up and would probably have worked in the build I was doing. I had already purchased a replacement locally that was a 600W unit, and used that in my build since other reviewers have pointed out that the actual sustained output of this unit is much less than advertised. I did get it for free with a case, so I can't complain.

1 out of 5 eggsDOA

Pros: Price was right - came free with a CFI Prime 211 case

Cons: DOA; only 2 SATA connectors; only 480W; still waiting for mail in rebate;

Other Thoughts: I just finished tax season and took this power supply out of the box the first time today. We wanted to see if the fan worked so we plugged it in and found power was not getting from the 110 plug out to the plugs for the components, nor did the fan ever come on. Since it's been sitting around for more than 30 days, I'll probably just eat it and buy something better. Since the price was free and it would cost me to send it back, there seems to be little point.

2 out of 5 eggsGood...While it lasted

Pros: -Has all the connections you need for general computing.

-More than enough Wattage for most people.

-Fairly recognizable brand.

Cons: -Failed after the 2nd year.

Other Thoughts: With these "not as popular" brands it's always a hit or miss. This PSU was bought as a DIY PC Build combo and overall seemed to be good for the build. I'm sure if it didn't die, I would have easily given it 5 stars, however, that is not the case.
