1 out of 5 eggsDied after about two months

Pros: Had all the connectors I wanted.

Cons: After about two months this PSU died. The computer was only turned on a handful of times.
Sent it to the manufacturer under warranty.
When I got it back two connectors were missing, including the floppy power which I needed.
I've tried to contact the Logisys support group again, but have not heard back in over two weeks.
Just going to have to order a different PSU to replace the replacement.

5 out of 5 eggsIf it's quiet you want and you are not building a gaming machine - buy this one.

Pros: Tried this power supplies big brother with the dual fans - model 480D2. It was VERY noisy

If you are going to be building a home theatre computer system get this model which is Model 480D. It is super quiet and perfect for a home theatre system.

Cons: None.

Other Thoughts: My system is using one of the new AMD 25 Watt quad core processors and MSI AM1 board so the load on the power supply is very light. In total I am probably only pulling about 200 Watts of power from the power supply. When I check the motherboard voltage readings they are perfectly stable. I think the power supply would be fine for almost any dual core or quad core processor builds if it was one of the 65 Watt chips. I might be a little cautious about recommending this power supply in a 95 Watt gaming system or systems with 2 or 3 mechanical hard drives. Would I buy another one? Of course I would. Oh and before I forget it comes with three [3] SATA power connectors instead of the usual 2, nice.

But over the years our computer systems are using less and less electricity since all of the manufactures are being driven to be more energy conscience. If you are doing a build use the Newegg power supply estimator and buy a power supply witht he power output they recommend. You won't go wrong.

1 out of 5 eggsCoin-Flip Quality PSU

Pros: Dirt Cheap

Cons: Had it a month and my machine (which only draws 265 watts max) is just too much for it. My 3.3v rail is constantly fluctuating, even at idle with all drives asleep, and 2 of 4 memory modules removed. PC is freezing, and getting "Low 3.3v Warning".

Other Thoughts: Spend another $20 or $30 so you don't hurt your mainboard, GPU or CPU when it goes. There are videos on YouTube of these PSU's all burned up. This is more like a 280 watt piece than a 480.

1 out of 5 eggsMade Small Buzz Noise When Processing

Pros: Had all the right connections and did start up my computer

Cons: The SATA power connections were difficult to plug in and the killer for me was a small whirring noise that would go off whenever the computer did any processing such as opening an application. Very annoying. Had to return.

4 out of 5 eggsLasted nearly a decade... Went out with a bang.

Pros: - Under $20
- Great for light loads
- If you get a good one, it'll serve you well

Cons: - "Feels" cheap
- Won't last forever
- Probably not very efficient
- Won't even get close to the 480w spec

Other Thoughts: Bought one of these guys about 7-8 years ago for 20 bucks. It's been used on a near daily basis during that time on a machine that acted as a game server host and later as a makeshift htpc. Only maintenance that had to be performed was a little oil for the fan and a good air cleaning every 2-3 years. Over the past year I noticed it would occasionally get quite warm while running, ignored it to my detriment. Two days ago I noticed a slight electrical smell and, while I was searching for the source, I heard a loud pop. Looked down and discovered the machine was no longer running. Sure enough, I opened the case and the little guy cooked himself to death.

Overall, for $20 it really outperformed my expectations. Yes it feels cheap. Yes it's probably not efficient at all. And yes, most people won't get 8 years of no-complaints running from one, but for $20, in a pinch, it turned out to deliver more than I ever could've expected.
