Cooler Master's Real Power Pro1000 RS-A00-EMBA PSU is designed with the power user in mind. This 80 Plus certified unit has a rated continuous output capacity of 1000W with a max peak output of 1200W. Not only is it a SLI certified unit, it is also compliant with ATX 12V v2.3 and EPS 12V v2.91.
The 24-pin motherboard connector is backed up by both a 4-pin and an 8-pin CPU connector. There are 6 Molex and 8 SATA connectors for drives and other peripherals. The PCIe connectors (four 6-pin and two 8-pin) have bead core protection to minimize EMI and electrical noise. Two floppy drive connectors are included, just in case. The six +12V rails are rated at 18A each for plenty of discrete power.
Keeping everything cools is a 135mm fan with an automatic speed control. The back panel is a honeycomb mesh for unrestricted air flow. The combination results in a low noise rating of only 16dBA.
Pros: Kilowatt. 8 pin ready. Quietly rock solid. Multiple rails. HEAVY. Like Boris said in SNATCH "Weight is a sign of reliability.." Though you could, I don't reccomend beating anyone with this psu. You might pull something.
Cons: hold on, lemme think.... GOT it. If you really wanted to, this psu delivers enough amperage to kill a person. Death by electrocution would be a fairly original suicide though. Oh yeah, and no power switch, you have to unplug.
Other Thoughts: The multiple rails distribute the load. If you have hardware failure, the sudden surge in electricity will only effect the components on that particular rail. Thus decreasing the chance of a catastrophic event requiring a complete rebuild. Modular connection points cause great potential for impedance. This is caused by the materials used in the connectors themselves. The shape and style of the pins used in modular cabling provides less than ideal overall, and individual connection. Until someone starts making high purity gold connectors that are threaded, then none for me, thank you. Honestly, if you cannot zip and tuck the few extra cables you're not using, you probably shouldn't be opening up your pc anyway.

Very good PSU

Tech Level: high - Ownership: 1 week to 1 month
This user purchased this item from Newegg
Pros: Performance: This PSU is powering my Q6700, ATI 2900 Pro Crossfire, RAID setup without hiccup.
Thermals and Noise: The PSU is running cool and is absolutely whisper quiet. I can't hear the PSU fan over my Scythe F case fans which means it is indeed very very quiet.
Price: I still can't believe the price for this PSU. It's a great value at this price!
Cons: Cables: The cables are a little too short for my taste and if you have a large full sized ATX case you will want to make sure this PSU will work for you. I would have liked to see the cables be 2-3" longer.
12v Rails: I don't have a multi-meter so this is all done via the BIOS and software, but my 12v rails are reading at 12.3v which seems slightly high and out of spec. It hasn't caused any issues that I'm aware of, but it's something to be aware of. If anyone has a multimeter I'd love to see the true read from the 12v rails.
Other Thoughts: I was using a Silverstone 1200DA, but I had some serious issues with it that you can read about. The Cooler Master 1000 has firmly established itself as my PSU of choice on my current rig and I couldn't be happier with this purchase.

Tech Level: somewhat high - Ownership: more than 1 year
This user purchased this item from Newegg
Pros: Lots of connecters, lots of power
Cons: After the first couple of months the PSU started causeing the computer to randomly restart and get the blue screen of death. I never thought it would be the PSU, but after extensive testing (and 9 months of experimenting with different operating systems......linux anyone?) I am positive it is the PSU causing this.
Other Thoughts: Right now seems like theres alot better deals out there that seem less risky......
We apologize for the inconvenience. The item in question comes with 5 years of warranty in case anything like this happens. Should you require assistance please contact us via Live Chat, should you need to file an RMA with us you can do via the RMA link below.
Tech Level: somewhat high - Ownership: more than 1 year
Pros: 1000 Watts!!! Has plenty of cables for just about everything. Nice shiny mirror finish. Pretty quiet. 5 year warranty!
Cons: Where is the on off switch?? It doesn't have one. Would be nice if it was modular. Would be nice if it had 2 six pin pci-e connectors on one cable. Coolermaster eRMA is very slow! 5 days and no response from the company when the power supply went on the fritz.
Other Thoughts: Its a good value for the price, but if you need service, it is almost not existent. Newegg Rocks!!

Pros: 1000WATTS, worked good for the first couple of months
Cons: causes random shutdowns and restarting of your computer, also causes your sytem to get the blue screen of death. I never thought it could have been the PSU causeing this, but after doing some research and testing my components, I am almost positive its this PSU. I'm gonna try an RMA and see if its just a bad PSU.
